Why is America seething so much about Indians "invading" their country? Indians are 2 percent of the US population. It is practically impossible for nonwhites to get a US visa nowadays. I used to study master's in America, but it is impossible to find a job in the US or apply for a second student visa for a PhD. My visa got rejected after social media screening because of posting memes about a certain Middle Eastern country on a deleted Reddit account, even though I had a fully funded PhD offer from NYU.Over 90 percent of Indian visa applications are rejected, and those Indians who live in the US are removed from the country immediately after their visas expire. In contrast if a white person from Germany applied for a PhD or postdoc in the US, they would 100 percent be granted F1 or J1 visa. There were Polish, German and Canadian scholars and professors in my previous department, and they were well accepted by Americans. It's only the brown foreigners who are hated.

But the US government has made it extremely difficult for Indians to enter America, contrary to what you might think. I got kicked out from the US immediately after my master's programme. No company in the US will hire Indians because they have to pay an H1-B fee. Same with academia. Every single professor in my department was white (often from other white countries in Europe). I was hoping to finish my PhD in New York and look for a postdoc in India, but even that is impossible because I can't get a second student visa.There is very little paperwork involved for scholars from Europe or Canada. They are always immediately granted visas.
