>>226045728Yes we do honor some people with street, land, park, river, mountain, valley or other geograhic points by naming them after a person.Locally, we live in a valley region with a big hill in the middle most of which is a park and wildlife reserve. It was named after the only police officer to be killed in the line of duty. A constable back in the 1930s was sent with a few others to arrest a man who had stolen 2000 voting ballots. The man had his wife open the door as he was standing behind her, pushed her out of the way and opened fire with a rifle killing the closest constable.Constable Prescott died at the scene, the killer was quickly tackled and eventually sentenced to life in prison. So, they named the biggest park in the area after him.https://www.odmp.org/officer/10829-constable-george-j.-prescott

>>226045728At least Americans actually have numbered streets in a grid-like layout, unlike this fucking place where you’re expected to know every stupid arbitrary name of every street or else resort to using Google Maps
