Why do so many Hispanics think Paraguayans sound Brazilian? I really don't hear the similarity at all

I say the same thing... There are linguistic similarities in SP-PT, but phonetically...?

>There are linguistic similarities in SP-PT
that's most likely PR considering the proximity, they speak a mix of caipira and gaúcho, SP is mostly caipira

Well, we are neighbors with Argentina after all

That's my accent and I don't talk the way he does. I can hear some similarities when he drops his pitch at the end of certain sentences, but I don't think it's that big of a deal or something that's exclusive to our accents. I've noticed that our S sounds are much more prominent, no matter where they occur in a word. Maybe people from certain areas like PR or SC sound more like him, they're known for speaking at a slower pace and pronouncing things more clearly idk

it indeed looks closer to the way we speak, at least when compared to other Spanish-speaking countries.

hmm yeah. it does sound a little like brazilian portuguese.

I honestly don't hear the similarity. Maybe it only works with slow, carefully enunciated speech, because that doesn't sound anything like the way people like Renan Santos speak, which is pretty much the textbook SP accent. To my ears the difference is massive

Are you sure the guy isn't just brain damaged?
>>

It's because Paraguay is not a real country
Not cultural significance at all
They're just losers and should be annexed by Brazil

Also we like paraguayan culture, and their songs
Their harp is particularly appreciated here.
