G2a is literally the paternal haplo of the Anatolian Farmers, the people who were in Italy and Europe before the Indo-Europeans. They didn't come from the ''Eastern Mediterranean/Levant/Anatolia'' during the Imperial Roman era. It's still the third most common paternal haplo in Italy. J2 comes from the Greeks of Magna Grecia, it was the most common paternal haplo among the Mycenaeans also.
Only 10% of Italians have E1b1b paternal haplos, and the most dominant subclade is the Balkan one (E-V13) so it also didn't come from ''mystery meats from the Near East''.
And by the way, the most common paternal haplo in Italy is still R1b U152, second most common in southern Italy is the Greek J2 (but r1b u152 is still the most common even in southern Italy)

Retarded, filthy, smelly, cheating, backstabbing, lying Nafri piece of shit hiding behind a French flag, the most similar to Republic Era romans are Spaniards today, "Gauls" my ass, it's occitans and northern Italians the other most similar. Catalans usually clustering the closest to old Romans. And it's no surprise considering the level of early Roman settlement in cities like Tarraco.
What happened later during the Imperial Era is that Greeks from southern Italy migrated into Rome and shifted its population, it wasn't a "near east invasion", more like a Terroni invasion of Rome.

G2a and E1b1b are a Neolithic substratum whose sum was likely around or less than 10%. When those, with J2, become the majority, it indicates massive migration patterns. Btw the everyday language spoken in Lugdunum (Lyon, capital of the Gauls) at the fall of the Roman Empire was literally Syriac, so the phenomenon wasn’t limited to the city of Rome.
>>
>No, Syriac was never a standardly spoken community language in Lyon (Lugdunum) during the Roman era.
>• Local Languages in Lyon: During the Roman period, the primary spoken languages in Lyon (then Lugdunum, a major hub in Roman Gaul) were Gaulish (in the early imperial period), Latin (Vulgar Latin, which became dominant), and Greek (widely used among urban elites, merchants, and early Christians).
>• Where Syriac Was Spoken: Syriac was a dialect of Aramaic originating in Upper Mesopotamia and the region around Edessa (modern-day Turkey), and it functioned primarily in the Near East and the Eastern Roman Empire (such as Syria and parts of Mesopotamia).
>• The Greek Connection in Lyon: The confusion sometimes arises because early Christianity in Lyon had strong ties to the Greek-speaking East. For example, Irenaeus, the famous 2nd-century bishop of Lyon, wrote his theological works in Greek rather than Latin or Syriac, reflecting the international, Hellenized network of the early church rather than a local Syriac-speaking population.

Why are Nafris like this?
>>
>>226081009
It is well known that Syriac was the language spoken in Lyon in the 5th century AD.
>>
>The statement that Syriac was the language spoken in Lyon in the 5th century AD is entirely false.
Syriac—a dialect of Middle Aramaic—was primarily the lingua franca and literary language of the Near East, Mesopotamia, and Eastern Christian communities. It was never the primary or widely spoken language of Lyon or any other region in Western Europe.

>The Real Languages of 5th-Century Lyon

>In the 5th century AD, Lyon (then known as Lugdunum) transitioned from a major Roman metropolitan center to the capital of the Germanic Kingdom of the Burgundians. The actual languages spoken by its inhabitants were:
• Vulgar Latin: This was the dominant everyday language of the vast majority of the Gallo-Roman population. Over centuries, it evolved into the regional Romance languages, specifically Francoprovençal (Lyonnais) and Old French.
• Burgundian: A Germanic language brought by the Burgundian tribes who settled in the region and established their kingdom.
• Gaulish: A Celtic language that, while rapidly declining and being displaced by Latin, may have still been spoken in residual pockets or used in traditional regional contexts.

>The claim is likely a severe exaggeration or misunderstanding of a well-documented historical footnote: the presence of "Syrian" merchants in Gaul.
During Late Antiquity and the Merovingian period, cosmopolitan trade hubs like Lyon, Marseille, and Narbonne hosted vibrant communities of foreign traders. In historical texts (such as those by Gregory of Tours), these merchants were often collectively referred to as "Syrians" or "Greeks," hailing from the eastern provinces of the Roman Empire.
>While these specific immigrant families and merchants certainly spoke Greek, Latin, or their native Aramaic/Syriac dialects among themselves while running local shops, they constituted a small merchant minority. They were a sub-community within a deeply Romanized, Latin-speaking city, rather than a reflection of what the general public spoke.

U152 is like barely 5% in Spain altogether. Which is weird because there were plenty of Roman colonies there but probably late colonies populated with sandniggers, not ethnic Romans. In Switzerland, 25% of U152, 30% in Northern Italy. You can cope all you want, but espagnoules have strictly nothing in common with Romans.

>And it's no surprise considering the level of early Roman settlement in cities like Tarraco.
that has nothing to do with it, iberians have basically little to no roman ancestry, they are similar to ancient IA latins by accident, due to similar genetic components
>>226080592
hard to say if the j2a in italy is greek or only greek, anatolians also carried j2a
>>226081009
eh... the roman empire favored mass anatolian/north levantine migrations, almost every province of the empire, iberia, italy, north africa, southern france, greek, the balkans, has large amounts of that sort of ancestry only britain and maybe northern france were spared and don't have 20% to 60% of the population being anatolian like the rest of the empire
>>
>>226081655
>roman colonies
roman themselves had large amounts of anatolian ancestry at that point, the roman colonies in iberia were populated by anatolians, the average imperial roman iberian was a third anatolian >>226081779, anatolian ancestry was more common than north african ancestry, despite the geographical distance
in fact even the roman colony of setifis, in algeria has more anatolians than north africans according to the released samples
>>

>Catalans usually clustering the closest to old Romans. And it's no surprise considering the level of early Roman settlement in cities like Tarraco.
Autosomal similarity to Iron Age Italics is not necessarily caused by direct descent from them.

R1b-U152 is a common Italo-Celtic Y-DNA haplogroup.
>>
>>226082689
It’s quasi non-existent in Spain. It’s as much present as in Ireland (around 3%) which wasn’t even invaded by the Romans.
>a common Italo-Celtic Y-DNA haplogroup
It’s THE haplogroup of the Italics and the early Celts, including the Romans.

Balkan populations in late antiquity are also closer to Eastern Mediterranean populations than to Italics, even the Latin-speaking Illyrians on the coast. Anatolia and East Mediterranean was wealthy and well populated and migrated Westward during Roman times, especially 0 to 500 AD.
>>
>>226082915
J2b was also present in Iron Age Lazio and Tuscany. G2a is also found in Etruscan, La Téne and Hallstatt remains.
>>
Republic Romans had italian U152 hg but were autosomally the most similar to some spainiards because modern italians have more southern blood. They arent related to actual spaiards just happen to have similar % of northern vs southern blood

Illyirians from croatia were legit yt popo close to continental celts. Our natives were anatolian and thracian with souther shifted shitskin illyirians. Reason why you are somewhat more white than us. We have similar % of slavi blood but our natives were more shitskined

Originally yes, but I'm saying that during late antiquity Anatolian populations from that time (not Iron Age Anatolians or AHG) migrated to Illyricum/Dalmatia as well to fortify borders, start businesses, fill up garrisons, etc.

South Serbians have much more anatolian than dalmatian croats. Despite having similar % of slavic blood. I have seen croats scoring thracian sometimes tho
