Legend Shingo Kubota, started in the late 70's with the group 8 1/2 along with koji ueno (halmens, guernica). After that released in the 80's a tring of highly consistent releases with muscle beat and under his own name apart from releasing music under the name stardust brothers along with another great name Kan Takagi, as a soundtrack for the movie of the same name directed by macoto tezuka. Kept releasing new music in the 90's onwards and the new music released under the name shingo kubota and old lucky boys between 2015 and 2019 is pretty strong. >>50996919That's true, but even more difficult now. It just felt like a final nail. Truly mainstream "regular" bands like Mrs Green Apple don't have the same mass overseas appeal as other japanese music. There are separate threads for idols, utaites, vtubers, vocaloid, female bands, touhou doujin, anisong, etc. It does limit the discussion that can happen here to only some rock, fusion, and other niche stuff that already doesn't get posted elsewhere. Unless people just want to post "any" Japanese music that they like, which doesn't necessarily make for great discussion either
