Suppose you were one of the only males who interacted with the main Touhou cast. You begin living with Reimu through sheer happenstance and now help her at the shrine. How would the other characters react and treat you whenever they tended to visit the shrine and suddenly saw a boy living there?
I have already decided that if I go to Gensokyo I'm tracking down Ellen and marrying her. I feel like I'd have the best shot at being with her out of all of the 2hus.
>>51024640Why the hell would Reimu let you live with her? She can take care of her chores. Even if she were fine with it, I don't wanna live with 'moo. I would either ask her to send me back because I miss my family or I'd go explore and die horribly
>>51024757what the FUCK is wrong with you she is a sweet girl
>>51024657Sorry, Ellen got removed from Gensokyo following a DMCA takedown request.
>>51024640I'm an old ass 30+ year old man. They would assume her dad just came back into her life or something.
>>51024896Look what I meant was everyone could be a shota if they wanted
I'd find my way to Eientei and convince Eirin to make a concoction to turn me into a cute girl like everyone else there.
>>51024854I'm sure she is, but with competition like her mom and grandma, she had zero chance...
>>51024922Based.
I can already see the articles about how the Hakurei miko has finally found a husband. And if that rumor reached Marisa and others, well it would probably become real one way or the other.
>>51024640Just go and play eratoho.Tbh I seriously doubt she'd let you live in the Shrine for long (I wouldn't let strangers into my house either). You'd probably have to live in the human village, but do you really need that? It would be good if you had some basic knowledge of something useful like engineering or medicine, otherwise I doubt you'd enjoy working 12 hours a day in rice fields in a world without electricity, internet, or anything else that makes the 21st century so good, without family, and perhaps without knowledge of japanese. While electricity could theoretically be obtained from kappas, and Eirin can handle medicine, it's still not the level of comfort you're used to. But I don't think winning Reimu's heart will be particularly difficult. Just come to the shrine every day and give her donations of money or food, and sooner or later she'll show interest in you. Boom, now you live with her and you have kids to feed. That's a pessimistic (and realistic) scenario tho. You can imagine Gensokyo as a sweet anime paradise with everyone around kind to you in which you know characters and so on too, which is fine and even cooler. Personally, I'd go with kappas for the cutie Nitori and cucumbers.
>>51024640If it's anything like Touhou: New World, Reimu would send you to Akyuu until she finds out how to return you back, and Marisa would send you to Kourindou.
What would it be like living with Yuugi
>>51024898>SHITaI have self respect and don't have fetishes on par with NTR.
>>51025158trying too hard
>>51024640I live with Reimu until I can meet Kasen who I will come up with dumb things for her to scold me for until she likes me, like the fortune says
>>51025099she's loud but she listensI don't particularly buy Akyuu's description of her having zero mercy for the weak given her actual behavior in various official works
>>51025099I always imagined it would be relatively chill now that she is occupied running an onsen. You'd help her run it during the day and at night, there would be drinking and merriment. You're going to have to do something about your weak human liver though because it wouldn't be able to sustain the lifestyle for long.
>>51025241>'re going to have to do something about your weak human liver though because it wouldn't be able to sustain the lifestyle for long.Gensokyo's first country artist...
>>51025176If you make friends with Reimu but treat her slightly roughly in front of Kase she'll probably kidnap you and force you to do dojo activities until you learn some manners. This is your time to boldly confess that it was actually Kasen all along that you liked.Just, uh, stay away from the weird rectangular box in her room.
Propose to Eirin and if she turns out to be evil and experiment on me wait for Reimu to save me
>>51024922This. If you're not a mob or a supporting character you shouldn't be a male, and if you're living with Reimu you've gone beyond your station and become a secondary character if not an outright main character. The only correct solution is to balance everything out by becoming a little girl via whichever of the forbidden template is most accessible at the moment.
>>51025163Not trying hard at all, just being honest, SHITa is an unironic garbage fetish.
>>51025371hey can you go complain about this on gyaru threads on /a/ instead there's a friend there for you
>>51024640I'll attempt a hook-up with Marisa.
>>51025384Just focus on Reimu, Marisa comes part of the set. She's more or less a fixture of Reimu's home after all.
>>51025257A country song about a man and his hard drinking wife that he can't keep up with but wants to out of love sounds like it could be a thing.
>>51025384i like seeing marisa with big boobs
>>51024640You're gonna have to deal with at least two blonde lolis hitting on you all the time.
>>51024980>otherwise I doubt you'd enjoy working 12 hours a day in rice fields in a world without electricity, internet, or anything else that makes the 21st century so goodThis has me thinking, what percentage of the human village would ditch Gensokyo for the outside world if they were allowed to do so?
>>51025754Near-100% if they understood even a fraction of things, either our modern day or the Hifuu Club's modern day. It's not even a question.
>>51025803Actually now that I'm thinking about it, let me add an addendum to my post here. It'd be near-100% just from removing the threat of youkai from their daily lives. Then after explaining some conveniences like how a tractor works (since I imagine if the residents of Gensokyo pop up anywhere it'd be in rural Japan which is all untended farmland) I think it'd shoot up even higher, and finally the borderline guarentee of a variety of food would make it such a large majority it'd be a rounding error if not for named characters like Keine who may or may not want to leave for obvious haafu reasons, or more specifically Akyuu and Kosuzu due to their roles in the village. But I imagine anon's question is talking purely about the mobs. Also, booze. Lots of different booze in the outside worlds.
>>51025803>>51025824I feel like this could be a good premise for a game or story. It would be interesting to see how Reimu would fit into all this. Would she go along with it, or would she try to stop it out of fear of the youkai dying out?
> Leave immediately> Find Marisa> Bribe her to get me into SDM with books or something> Dust off Patchouli's shelves in exchange for living with her> Optionally learn magicThis is how Touhou is played.
>>51025895> The "You Don't Speak Japanese" version> Leave immediately> Find Marisa> Realize I have zero clue how to communicate with her> Uhhh> Find Alice. Alice probably speaks English. Why else would she have a name like Alice?> Realize I actually don't have anything that'd interest Alice.> Uhhh> Try to get into SDM on my own.> Meiling is actually awake. > Uhhh> Figuring out a plan to become Patchouli's trophy-husband.> Nighttime comes> Why is it suddenly so dark?> Oh, it's only Ru-
>>51025868Well if the question involves Reimu as part of the discussions then I imagine there's plenty of story's like that, revolving around the idea of the end of Gensokyo and potentially Reimu's attempt to stop it. I think that was CtC's thing too but it's been a long ass time since I've thought about it and it's too late at night for me to dig into it again. But if it's just strictly what the mobs would think, yeah, I don't think it's ever actually been done before. Maybe it has in some obscure fanfiction on a website or a doujin or THP. Then again, it's not really like the story could really go anywhere, because if the basis of the story is "mob's are leaving Gensokyo en-masse/all at once" then the POV would almost certainly be a mob character... making it a story about a mob character who is no longer in Gensokyo learning about modern day Japan. So basically, about as much of a story about Touhou as your average Isekai is about Tokyo. Not really sure how it'd fly beyond a short-form format.
>>51025908Provided you're not illiterate, you could use Kosuzu as a translator, and she seems nice enough to be willing to help.
>>51025930I hope Kosuzu will show up in this thread then since I can't read either of his posts. They're just simply far too green.
>>51025935That must be the elusive tengu script.
>>51024640Not gonna happen, when i go to gensokyo i'll be reborn as a cute jorōgumo yōkai girl
>>51026250you'll never be a girl
>>51026282well it wont technically be "me"just my 'consciousness' or 'soul' in a brand new body
>>51026291your soul will never be a girl eitherthere's no reason to use your stanky ass self hating consciousness to create a new youkaithey don't require human souls to get born
>>51026298it's not creation, think of it as recyclingi did consider replacing an already existing yōkai, but it would be too much of a commitment and too great a loss of self
>>51026314you don't understandno force in any universe would consider wasting effort on something like you because you are worthlessyou're a failure of a humanyou'd be a failure of a youkai as well, you'd still hate yourself for who you arebecoming a girl does not solve your problems
>>51026328the Will is not for us to question
>>51025371
>>51025922nta, but I think the *how* is more interesting since something like mobs leaving en-masse is an existential threat characters like the Sages, Akyuu, Keine, and anyone else who's a true believer in Gensokyo, or at the very least a youkai who doesn't want to die. When you think about it, for people like Suika who wanted a more violant pro-youkai Gensokyo something like that is sort of a dream come true:>See, human's can't ever be trusted, they should be suppressed more.Of course it all depends on how you would want to write it. I think Nork/Milo has talked about such things before, but he's more interested in his original eastern european knock-off novel than Touhou itself.
>>51026481Last night I was thinking about this, not your specific version of the idea though, because I do think the whole "villagers choosing if they want to leave or not" thing is a very interesting idea. The idea that came to me was a short story that'd deal with a debate with the villagers, the named village 'hus, and possibly some other 'hus either through the ones that'd be directly responsible for said exodus being brought up in the first place. I struggle to think of a character who'd manage to do it on a large enough scale that would also want to do it in the first place, but so long as it's not Yukari it can be hashed out. The ending of the story would be as the portal opens and the group of people who are leaving look back at their village and possibly the few who remain behind, probably some hyper-conservative village elders, before they step through and the story ends.
>>51027081How about Renko? She disappears from Yukari/Maribel's backstory rather conspicuously and is ideologically opposed to Maribel. You don't even have to name her, just have her be a mysterious woman with arbitrary powers that allow her to facilitate your stories with her identity as Renko only being vaguely hinted at.I don't think it'd be a stretch to have a person who holds strong views about objectivity like Renko say something like.>Since fantasy exist humanity must acknowledge it. Gensokyo prevents humanity from acknowledging fantasy so it must be done away with. (i.e wanting Gods, Youkai..etc to exist in the outside world)Or something like:>Since reality is governed by consensus, those who are not acknowledging as existing don't have a right o life in the first place. (Wants to destroy Gensokyo and fantasy)Of course:>I dislike the human cost of Gensokyoand>The human villagers have a right to chose the outside worldAre also good motives, but they're less dramatic honesty and I don't really care for another character study about Reimu/Akyuu/Yukari's introspections on the balance between killing humans for sustenance and keeping them alive for the faith they grant.
>>51025754I think It's comparable to a random remote African village. Yes, the people here are aware of the rest of the world and even possess some technology from there that they accidentally acquired (tho they don't really understand how it works). But how many of them would move to, let's say, New York (or any big city, just the first one I have in mind) if they were given the chance, since it would be pretty hard to integrate in it's life? I think the main problem is that since the Gensokyo villagers live by the norms and traditions of the pre-Meiji era, moving them from quiet conservative Gensokyo to modern Japan would be extremely stressful for them. Tho it, indeed, would be "safer" for them (since they don't know that youkais can't attack Human Villagers anyway)So that's a good question. However I don't think Yukari would have let them out anyway, since their "job" here is to seccure the existence of the youkais.>>51025868Reminded me of a doujin in which Reimu got into the outside world
>>51024898>ShotaWell, knowing the usual people Reimu has the misfortune to deal with on a daily basis, she would be teased to hell and back about how she's grooming herself a husband or something along the lines.
Why do shotafaggots put so much of their focus on little boys? Shouldn't they be focusing on the hot women instead of fantasizing about the small child?
*Talk about his hatred out of nowhere*Obsessed
>>51027200>Reminded me of a doujin in which Reimu got into the outside worldIs that the one where she meets Sanae right before MoF and has a burger with her?
>>51027497Yep!https://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/three_days_ago
>>51027691Wish there were more doujins and fanworks like this. I think the relationship between Gensokyo and the outside world is very interesting to say the least.
>>51028019True, it's strange that this topic is often overlooked. There's also this one https://dynasty-scans.com/series/though_the_wind_cries although it's not about the outside world, but Suwako's backstory (and a rather sad one), Sanae's past and the outside world is also touched upon here.
>>51025635This raises the age old question: is Marisa a loli? The general consensus is no but there is a persuasive argument to be made by one skilled in rhetoric
>>51028340no she isn't
>>51028340She has the size of a loliBut apart from that there isn't much loli about her.
>>51028382Her height is quite normal for the Meiji era, around like 145-150 cm, since she's not much shorter than Reimu. So even that doesn't fit for loli
>>51028356Are you certain, ze~?
All I want is to marry Aunn and make a big family with her
>>51028397She may not be loli, but she definitely needs some correction
>>51028398Remember that there are two Aunn, one of which is male. And they come as an inseparable set. Are you prepared for that?
>>51027691Wow I could have sworn I read this story like 10 years ago, not barely 5. Guess that just means it was an instant classic.
Will you reach heaven and commit blasphemies there?
>>51028781I couldn't do that to Chiko's father.
>>51028340She is a womanlet. I know grown ass women who are her size.
>>51028260I just remembered there's a VN about Reimu getting reverse-isekaied coming out soon.
>>51029078What's it called?
i know that what i am going to say is controversial but if you have no interest in the girls, what do you want to do in gensokyo?
>>51029621>https://store.steampowered.com/app/4489700/Touhou_Beyond_Gensokyo/Only issue is that it uses AI.
>>51029668I was about to say it's fine since they clearly retouched the sprites and especially the backgrounds, but then there are some really strange artefacts left over in what's supposed to be promotional art. Odd.
>>51024935you fool, dating the granddaughter is an investment! not only do you get her in the prime of her youth, but you will get her as an adult and even as a hag as well!
>>51029665I'd be more interested in sightseeing than anything.
>>51030380You bring up a good point...
Would Remilia let me in to tour her mansion if I asked to see her tapestries?
>>51030455Why not? If she's really bored, someone who suddenly shows up and asks to see tapestries will at least interest her, especially if you're knowledgeable about this.Gensokyo itself looks like a place with plenty of interesting places to see, including natural ones like Genbu ravine. The main thing is not to get eaten, but that's another matter>>51029665Well hello Rinnosuke
>>51029665Learn magic and fly around
>>51027429The point is to self insert as the shota...
>>51030946dont bother with him he is one of many resident retard spergs
>>51024640I'd ask how they were born and how they exist and how they do magic and ask for their help to destroy Israel.
>>51030688>Why not? If she's really bored, someone who suddenly shows up and asks to see tapestries will at least interest her, especially if you're knowledgeable about this.My Gensokyo related fantasy is still to live in SDM as a sort of permanent guest. Maybe if I play my cards right it could happen in this scenario...
>>51031140I actually don't think it's so difficult as it might seem (except for Remilia or Flan, it's hard to interest them). Becoming friends with someone from the mansion is enough to be able to visit it. Meiling is quite open to communication, and befriending her is probably pretty easy; Sakuya often visits the Human Village, you might try helping her carry goods. Also you could apply to become butler at the mansion since they advertise it. They have so many incompetent fairies so ig they'll hire you without much trouble. Just don't expect a salary and preferably don't have a lot of tasty blood
>>51028781touhou heaven is underdeveloped in lore so i don't know what i would really encounter here
