what do you know about futaba channel?Old thread:"https://warosu.org/jp/thread/50991520#p51034514"
Didn't find any fun shitpost threads on img, or something nijiura culture related that I know of either. I probably didn't get lucky, I don't know at what hours the best threads are made in this imageboard either.
>>51037728Shit, it took too much time to make my stupid image but thanks for making itHow dare they delete our beloved thread

Please do more of theseI'd like to share a very creative Niconico wiki page about Futaba:https://dic.nicovideo.jp/a/ふたばちゃんねるIt explains Futaba culture and shows its early memes in Futaba's own interface. Also, clicking on the thumbnails takes you to Niconico videos of the memes being shown.
This is a cool channel that has some videos of japanese board's culture and memes https://www.youtube.com/@kydbThe neat thing is that he always post sources in the description, and there's a lot of cool stuff archived
>>51038647I'll make some more later!>>51038724I really like his channel. I've discovered many things from him. Also, regarding what I said in the previous thread, I think I'll keep updating the original Futaba script. I really like how easy it is to set up and unfortunately there isn't really an equivalent that's as easy to use.Speaking of the Futaba script, I actually discovered something about its direct predecessor GazouBBS.In fact, GazouBBS is essentially an Ayashii World but with images. Just like the first known imageboard in Japan, LNB (Licentious Notice Board). And Futaba adds the entire threading system found on modern imageboards, introduced by Amezou Links (which is the precursor to 2channel).That means modern imageboards are a direct evolution of AyashiiWorld, not 2channel.(Well, it doesn't really change much... but since it's still noticeable in today's imageboard layouts, I still think it's pretty cool!)

is the last thread archived anywhere? (sorry for the dumb question, I've never kept track of how the 4chan archiving is done). There was a ton of great info in the last one that I want to refer back to when I have more time
>>51041262OP's link get's you to the archived thread, warosu is an archival site of many boards on 4chan including /jp/
>>51041269>many boardsnevermind I meant SOME, there are other sites that archives way more boards and make warosu look tiny in comparison, but warosu is notable since /jp/ isn't on all of them.
>>51038751>In fact, GazouBBS is essentially an Ayashii World but with images. Just like the first known imageboard in Japan, LNB (Licentious Notice Board).I'd love to see a western imageboard in this format, it feels like it would work well for sites that don't get that much traffic (aka most imageboards that aren't 4chan)
I saw that the Nijurachan admin was in the last thread and was thinking of rewriting the site with node.js. I wonder if he looked into jschan or Lynxchan?>>51038751>Ayashii WorldAlways thought that it was unfortunate that this format never made it to the west. For really niche discussions you really don't need threads at all.
>>51041445I'd like to see that too.Unfortunately, I doubt that will solve the activity problem on altchans. The problem isn’t just the format. It’s also the lack of originality of boards and the fact that people post very VERY rarely.(and when they post, it's just to act like they're on 4chan)On top of that, there’s the issue of CP spam if you share it on allchans. So you don't have the choice to avoid using ones of the only ways to get traffic on your site.>>51041469>Always thought that it was unfortunate that this format never made it to the westI totally agree. Other than Heyuri and fukuokabbs.org, I don't know of any others. That's pretty disappointing...

do they discuss piracy on futaba somewhere like they do in 5ch's download board?
>>51042220Sometimes they do, although they seem to generally frown on it and talk about the idea of it in general rather than where and how you can pirate. Picrel was the OP image of a thread I saw about piracy that went to 500 posts or so, if I remember right they talked a little bit about the old P2P soft used for sharing stuff in the past. I've actually been wanting to check them for a while now but I'm too lazy to actually bother.
>>51042604Share, Winny and PD still work but population is very small and IIRC only PD gets the newest stuff but it's all reploads from bittorrent anyway. I don't think they're good for anything these days, even obscure things.>rather than where and how you can pirateA shame, really. I thought they might have moved to some private communities
>>51042657I'm sure there's some people out there in some super secret communities. As you said though, who knows if they're actually updating and sharing rare stuff or just recycling super public and easy to find links like most people on the net do. I'd love to find any Jap piracy communities myself, since even with western and Chinese piracy communities you can only find so much stuff.
>>51042708Such communities usually only let in people who have something to contribute
