Three years ago on this day what was to be a Mokou thread instead turned into a story that would run for two years and 12 threads. It has been one year since the Taxi for the Mokou Gang adventure has ended (it's a few days early for that milestone but whatever). Let's have an anniversary thread and celebrate! For the unfamiliar, Taxi for the Mokou Gang was a /jp/ original open collaborative picture story. Anyone could choose what happened next so long as they followed these general guidelines:1. Every post pushing the story needs to be accompanied with a picture matching the scene. It can be a shoop, doodle, comic or even an animation.2. Push the story forward in small steps, not big leaps.3. Keep it lighthearted. The first few posts of the post-thread have the links to the story. Use your favorite /jp/ archive to look it up and (re)read the story! >>49685590Just as we did in the post-thread, feel free to share any thoughts, reflections or behind-the-scenes. For those who have been there and done that, there is a new scenario to play in this thread.
Uh-oh, /jp/. Mokou woke up and realized she didn't make any preparations for today. She needs your help if she's going to throw a great party for Sukuvan in time! Off the top of her head, she knows we'll need decorations, a cake and some guests for the party.Mokou remembers you like to take it easy but we've only got 14 or so days to help her put together a party Sukuvan will never forget. Let's aim for making this thread's story a one-and-done. In the past, time-pressed posters could ask for a pause to draw the next scene without worrying about getting undercut by someone else and having their work wasted. As an indefinite pause doesn't harmonize very well with the /jp/ autosage, if you request a pause please also specify how much time you want and the scene, section and/or characters you're using. Just be aware we're on a time crunch and don't be too upset if an anon ignores your request.
>>51075778>Three yearsTime to make me a reservation at a nursing home.Loved those threads, even though my only real contibution was introducing the Kong.
Outside Mokou's house, Sukuvan is still fast asleep.I haven't doodled play scenes in forever. There's rust to shake off.Sukuvan is a honk-mimimi sleeper if you must know.
>>51075778Three years? But I was literally in that thread a few months ago!
>>51075778The good times.
>>51075778>run for two years and 12 threadsTo think that something like this wouldn't be possible anymore
>>51075786Even a simple character introduction can have a big impact in a format like this. Sachiko did a lot for the gang. Defeating Shimmy, saving them from stew, and giving them some Lemon Bapper is what immediately comes to mind.
the mighty kong is busy taking a mighty poo in mokou toilet. this is peak british humour btw, no complaints. apparently she has been suffering constipation problems but mokko need to take a morning piss and DONT EVEN ASK A LADY to piss outside like an animal. not even mokou would do it. not in a storytime where anons could see her anyway. you gotta help mokou to help the kong. or help mokou to drive her out. and be fast!
oh, and happy anniversary to all mokou gang anons!
>>51075795Sukuvan looks happy
Happy Anniversary Sukutaxi anons.
no idea why the kong is there, but at least the barn animals are safe and easy. she's no chicken thief! though mokko should know that already.
>>51076061So even the mighty have digestive issues. What if Mokou were to somehow scare the crap out of her? It's Gensokyo. There's got to be something that can spook her around here.
>>51076848mmh maybe the scary umbrella is still inside sukuvan, i remember mokou recovered it threads ago, but is she allowed to interact with sukuvan? we're trying to make a surprise party after all.
It seems the Kong is getting ready for the long haul. Doesn't she know that's how you get hemorrhoids?>>51077859Oh, maybe it's that thing behind the barn.
the umbrella is there, busy being used by touhou on tea break.
>>51078643Remi being here might actually be a boon. If anyone in Gensokyo knows how to throw a party, it's her (or Reimu). ...But Mokou can only hold it in for so long! Do you suppose the Kong might be lactose intolerant? If Mokou could just pop this can open, she might be able to get her a glass.
Mokou jumps on the can a little too recklessly. She ends up pulling the can down on top of her.
Mokou pops back into existence. Well, that was embarassing. On the plus side, she no longer needs to pee and Remilia is in a good mood. On the other hand, there's still a Kong hogging the bathroom and a ways to go to get this party happening!
>>51079334if anything now kong hogging the bathroom is low priority. in doubt, respawn. fairies wisdom is underrated.
mokou is still my favorite touhou character and the only one i have a figure of
how kind of the new month bunny to visit mokou. let's see if she got good gifts for the nice touhou, and no way mokko isnt among them.
These threads truly were one of the last hurrahs for the board. I am glad to have been part of them, even though I mostly sat back after the first few arcs, mostly because I take kind of long to draw even simple doodles. Was looking back on the story not long ago and found a few of them I didn't get to post since we had moved on past their respective story beats by the time they were done, like this silly alternate ending I drew in case no one followed up after the scene where the mokouvan was falling on Kaguya, which thankfully wasn't the case! This was obviously before Sukuvan was established as a character of its own. A few days from now marks exactly three years since I drew it so it felt appropriate to post.
>>51080255There's also this followup to Moon Rabbit #3792's scene with the galaxy express if anyone wondered what she's been up to since then. She's been sightseeing! The threads were so much fun, and I made some fond memories like the night I spent doodling scenes back and forth with an anon here. Even though the board isn't quite the same anymore, the fun times live on through everyone here. Happy anniversary to everyone!
>>51080255>>51080280how nice to get new directors' cuts after so long.
>>51075778happy birthday, sukuvan!please stop making me feel the inexorable flow of time!
Oh, Mokou. What part of shoving your hand into a trickster's bag sounded like a good idea to you?>>51080280It's nice to see #3792 enjoying herself. What an inspirational story. To go from being literal cannon fodder to being taken for a ride to the many sights of the universe.
Time to shake that mouse trap off and double-dip, Mokou. Surely Tewi doesn't have two traps in here... Oh yeah! This is the Eientei Cake Mix Mokou ordered from Eirin. I guess Tewi was here to deliver it.
>>51081669hey! if she knew there was a delivery due, wasn't a bit rude to just catch the rabbit and rummage through its bag without permission?is mokou that thing they call "delinquent"?
>>51081669lucky! true rabbit rabbit magic.
better put to use the recently acquired mouse trap. you never know what you may catch. it could use some bait though.
>>51081679Mokou is all scatter-brained this morning. Cut her a break.>>51082056It's not great bait, but its what Mokou has on hand. Maybe it will catch a delinquent mouse?
a gangsta marikkuri! these easy beings look more stupid than dangerous, but their speed is no joke.
>>51082553Yuuu?
Now's not the time to be enabling bad yukkuri life choices, Mokou. You've got a party to run!
>>51083670it's never too late to make some new friends.
A knock on Mokou's door. Who can it be?
>>51084081a special delivery... ?
... is that momiji? maybe it's just some burnable garbage issue... what should mokou do?
Mokou opens the door to greet her. It seems the tengu are currently searching the area for a suspicious character. A specific one, anyway.
>>51085415she shouldnt waste mokou's precious time with these canine feuds...
you don't need to make a thread for your unfunny reddit-tier fanfiction three years after it already ended
mokou tries to sneak away from momiji with a sorry excuse. she's currently busy with the party and the law-abiding citizen part isnt for her.
so we still need eggs and milk for the cake, right? or the cake mix is enough and we're just in need of an oven? i never baked a cake... and i suspect mokou didnt either.
shut up
>>51085996mokuo can try to request the wisdom of some people to help her with the recipe:1. mystia2. miyoi3. yuuka4. aki sisters5. sakuya6. nemuno... hmm? what do you mean "go to the forest of magic"? there is NOTHING related or useful in there! you need groceries, not wood!
>>51086008sakuya is near, but i suppose simply asking for a favour wont do after the gang messed with the scarlet mansion garden. (as seen on thread 2!).
>>51086025I am sure she can be reasonably convinced, but you must butter up her mistress first.
>>51086092please avoid offering smokes to the ojou-sama. the young lady is too young for that.
Ok Mokou. If you can find Remi's hat (and let her come to the party), she will order Sakuya to help you with your choice of one of three things.1. Sakuya will gather and put up the decorations.2. Sakuya will bake the cake and handle additional food catering at the party.3. Sakuya will "recruit" guests to come to the party.
>>51086294that's a good offer, the remimi feels generous today.
better get on the move again if we want to get this party started.
better not bicker with kutaka and urumi, we dont want to wake up sukuvan before the time. luckily mokou is a resourceful one. this should do, milk is still missing though.
>>51086000no YOU shut up
>>51085996A box mix needs eggs, oil and water (can be subbed with milk). Mix it, pour it in a pan and throw it in the oven.Mokou can get milk from Urumi. She just needs to find an oil (not the hellblood kind) and a place to cook it.
>>51089315it sure needs lot of things, these cake mix start to sound like a scam.
>>51089319Don't worry, Mokou has got everything around here somewhere.
>>51090886it's a big barn. for mokou. i mean, it's not like she's a farmer.
>>51091131Mokou built it roomy for Sukuvan. It's probably built better than her shack.
>>51090886if there are so many chickens, why did mokou take one of kutaka's eggs?do you think pi-chan didn't notice? he is the brains of the duo.
since the oil is on sight, it would be a waste and a risk to not put it in mokou's inventory right now.
>>51091509pi-chan was busy elsewhere, i'm sure it's gonna take awhile before it gonna notice something is wrong. beside all chicken eggs are under kutaka's protection. she's the big hen.
>>51091509>he is the brains of the duo.Sounds like gay fucking nerd to me, do you know what cool kids do to gay nerds like him ? They put them in a locker, then cook the contents of the locker, then they molest the locker along what's inside.
>>51091572yeah, this will shut him up. unless pi-chan is some kind of weird maso perv.
>>51091572damn...m-maybe mokou is a bit grumpy because she didn't had her cup of coffee!someone, please, brew some coffee for this hulligan!
>>51091572That locker will no longer be able to find a husband...
Ooh, milk. Might as well pick that up too.
>>51091956is that it? moko don't even have to milk the cowe?Smooth Sailing!
>>51091956Now Mokou, you remember what happened last time you drank it raw.Maybe she should do some shock heating to be safe.
>>51091966too smooth... the bottle is empty!
I appreciate your dedication to keeping this alive, even with the thread's one-week lifespan.
>>51092980Maybe making another thread a few moments after this one dies to conclude the story would be fine.
no worry, jaypee is slow, i can predict at least another 10 days which should be enough.
>>51092980Threads autosage after 14 days, plus however long it takes to fall off the catalog. In hindsight I wish I had just set up a canvas of the party and let everybody doodle party shenanigans on it. That was my intention for the scenario ending but it's looking like we're going to be needing the full thread's lifespan just to get it started.>>51093030>Maybe making another threadI've been down that road before... Let's see how this thread turns out.
Mokou never was very good at asking people for things.
of course, coconut milk could work too... but this big can bought on sale was discounted for a reason: it expired so many yukarins ago the milk germinated sekibanki heads!!
>>51093717Buying a can of Coconut milk right now to grow my own Bankihead!
ok you baka bovine, you think you're so cool with your gaymeboy and your big mammaries... well...
... there's a new cow in town.
Bankiheads running wild in the meanwhile.>>51094141Show 'er how it's done Mokou!
>>51094198whoa, what a mess, this is all mokou's fault... as usual.
IT'S WRASSLIN' TIME.LOSER FILLS THE MILK BOTTLE
>>51095348Isn't that the second time she undressed? What does she means by this ?
>>51095348how do you beat this cow with the power to change the weight of objects? Also be quiet, sukuvan is still sleeping
Now that the mama-chicken is distracted, someone is going to make their move!
>>51095531And off she goes!Wish I was talented enough to make this into a gif
Poor Urumi. Thrust into a wrestling match with a self-immolating psychopath when she just wanted to play video games.>>51095418Mokou knows the value of a psychological attack.>>51095456Can she change the weight of fire?
real recognise real and urumi tributes a bottle of milk to mokou as sign of respect and submission. and be sure to attend the party, you bakamon.
>>51095693she knew she was fucked the moment she entered the ring
Welcome to Baking with Mokou! Today, we are going to bake a birthday cake.First throw all our ingredients into the pot.Put a lid on it.Then put it on heat. And wait until a beautiful cake emerges!
>>51096255that's also how i would make a cake, so it cant be wrong.
the instinct kicks in and momiji rallies the banki heads...
... but they're so many!! it's an ungrateful job.
Mokou trades hats with the bnaki head. (She also threw in her boots to sweeten the deal)
>>51097425Maybe we should ask the Scarlet count for new shoes when we go back to her.
>>51096311Oh no, is that a cylindrical object? Looks like the fox has been distracted from her escape.
>>51097425that banki head looks like the coolest banki in town right now, she made a great deal.>>51097604she just cant help herself, what a dumb fox.
to bring an open fire into a small closed object... this gonna create a big smoke! and there's no touhou more keen to this stuff than the white wolf tengu!
isn't that a bit too much energy drinks for a head?well, she doesn't have do worry about kidney stones. at least it's not genge-cola...
>>51098420she's sipping it slowly. or maybe it's a magic can of infinite r*d b*ll, somewhat like the ibuki gourd.
tick tock, miss evil foxe.
>>51098623How are there STILL bankiheads in there?Miss fox is not home, please leave message at the chicken tanning salon.
>>51098653>How are there STILL bankiheads in there?they were born there, it must be not easy to leave your nest for the cruel, cold, outside world. we could call them sekikomori, or hikibanki.
The ensuing brawl pushes the hikibankis out of their can. Don't fret hikis! You can move back in when they're done.>>51098420Maybe she got stuck.Trivia: by count there are currently 18 banki heads. (17 in picture + Chef Banki by the firepit). This might be a record for most characters in a scene.
evil fox is subdued, the fire is extinguished and pi-chan is safe. great job, momi-chan.
Mokou leaves watching the cake in Chef Banki's capable non-hands and returns Remilia's hat. She can cash in on one Scarlet favor, but what should it be?
>>51101134the cake is in the pot. and mokou can just recruit all the touhou around as well. she's good at that kind of stuff. so maybe the decorations? truth to be told we didnt need her magical help but i dont want to make remimi feel sad and unwanted.
>>51101176Sakuya appears next to Mokou for a half a secondThe Mistress commands respect from all of Gensokyo, surely hand crafted invitations from her are just what this place needs to become a true party befitting of her majesty.Huh, she is quite the fast talker.
>>51101398sakuya is really deluded about the ojou-sama.
>>51101176>>51101398I vote for sakuya to arrange the decorations.but I would consider sakuya's offer to invite some people, as I am remind of that one time she got hina to accept her invitation, even if she felt uncomfortable in public.
Sakuya will do... all three! She was so inspired by Remi's handmade invitations that she became determined to make this a party worthy of the Scarlet Devil, even if the host is technically a riffraff hobo. She'll leave the cake to Mokou but she will still bring snacks.I can draw the scenes with food and decorations a little later unless someone else wants to beat me to the punch. But I need a break because it took me way too long to draw this one.
>>51103348nice! she really invited everyone.
>>51103348>>51093127>In hindsight I wish I had just set up a canvas of the party and let everybody doodle party shenanigans on iti think anon can simply go for this now? there's no need for op to overdo himself, unless he really wants to, we have everything so we can just doodle cakes, sweets, guests and decoration little by little until the thread ends.
>>51103563That makes perfect sense and is more appropriate for the thread anyway. Let's do that.
>>51103563That's a good plan honestly. Man it just feels so wrong that we are limited to 14 days + however long it takes to get "naturally" bumped off.
>>51103681One of the things I wanted to see with this thread is how well it could adapt with the new rules. Nonsurprisingly, I don't think it works well. We're trying, and I'm happy to see anons still willing to join. The urgency to push forward is a lot more pronounced. While maybe that's good to keep the story moving, it also doesn't allow anons to take a day to reflect on the next step, do something really elaborate or think of something really funny. Any day without something happening feels like wasted potential instead of a break. If we broke up the original threads into two-week periods, we'd probably have 60 some threads and that's just ridiculous. I will forever be glad I do not live in reality where I felt compelled to write 60 thread summaries.Trivia: If the limit were in place for the first thread, we would've hit autosage shortly after Mokou got launched towards the moon and it probably would've ended with Mokou and Sukuvan drifting through space... forever...
>>51103831yeah, sadly i agree. but it was still a great anniversary thread. anons did well even with despicable time limit breathing on their neck.
Here's the frontside of the property, all ready for Sakuya to deck out for the party. Go crazy, she's got unlimited time and that SDM budget y'know. The guests might start arriving at any minute!
here's a disco ball and some nice graffiti on mokou's new barn!
parties must be colourful, yes.
Where can I read this in order? I'm very lost.
>>51104604on warosu, the jaypee archive. https://warosu.org/jp/thread/49685590
Catering area, punch bowl, streamers and balloons.
>>51105520cant have a party without balloons.
Nazrin dowsed her way here! Gee, I hope Mokou's other guests can find their way through the forest.
the fairies are here too. they brought a gift, so hand over the cake!
little bug too.
another two ready for the party.
Sakuya brings goodie bags out for the young and fairy partygoers.
>>51107286it's important to keep the young ones in check, especially if they're fairy pranksters.
Cake's done. And playful fairies have stirred Sukuvan!
>>51107717we're almost there!
quick or elly will end up drunk before the very start.
