While maybe not very or at all culturally important and they weren't known at all in the west until the early 2010s, Orange_Juice has a very unique catalogue that are, especially early on, incredibly charming relics of 2000s doujinsoft development that I think should get a lot more discussion. They even have thier own fumos!
I don't even like shooters really but Flying Red Barrel and Suguri are very dear to my heart (as are their leads) because of their unique gameplay that hooked me in at important parts of my life. Does anyone else here have similar to say? I would hope a few better at them than me, I suck donkey nuts at them but the pure charm of them and atmosphere of the Suguri games still have me coming back regardless.

200% Mixed Juice is a nifty game. SUGURI 2 wasn't for me. I only bought them for free shit in 100% OJ anyway, and that was my social bread and butter for a while with weeb friends. Those were good times

A lot of these games, and the doujin-tier games like them, feel like they only really work because they trigger that sense of weeb nostalgia for a time we never really had that existed mostly only in our minds. Mixed Juice and OJ are, I think, actually good games, but I can't escape that feeling. Even trying to go back to OJ now makes me feel like I'm pining for days of years past and that I can't let go, and that I demonstrate that inability by redownloading and launching that game again. Maybe this is just what it's always like enjoying Japanese media as a westerner in one's 30s, or maybe it's depression, or maybe it's both (one begets the other probably lole)

Anyway casual tomomo a qt

Suguri and Sora are kino (on easy mode), AOS/2 suck like all fighting games

>played the hell out of 100%oj with my friends in 2016-18
>those people almost all hate me now and some of them trooned out
You're right too, even back then there was the feeling that we were just experiencing something the japanese already got to a decade ago

>those people almost all hate me now and some of them trooned out
My best friend growing up introduced me to anime. Now he hates me, trooned out(?), and never became as much of an otaku as I have become kek

I've only played 100% OJ with a couple friend groups. we typically enjoy each session for about an hour before getting so ticked off near the end that we all decide to call it a night afterwards. this has happened every single time.
I think the game would be really good if you had even a little bit more control over where you could go. the snow map was definitely our favorite for the simple reason being that it was easy to run all over the place and actually land on spaces you'd want to hit or hunt down people you'd want to fight

I can't stomach all the dumb and gay OC shit the localisation studio has been pumping into 100OJ the past half decade if not more. Completely killed all the charm the game I put hundreds of hours with my friends into.

I listened to suguri collection 2 in my car today, it's been like 14 years since I've played the series but it's still a darling for me
with 100 OJ I had a brief phase before the DLC spam got too much for me, I'm still in the steam group though

When is /jp/ playing 100% OJ together?

well when most of your body of work takes place in the modern/early modern day and then your flagship series takes place thousands of years into the future, that's pretty unavoidable
>>
>>51090319
>and then your flagship series takes place thousands of years into the future
those are dead now too because chronologically the last game takes place 46 billion years in the future

JP scene for OJ is so fucking dead
EN scene is overran by actual trannies and community whores, alongside their publisher playing favorites.
>>

Did the game even have a JP community?
