Hi /jp/. What modern Touhou game (TH14+) is your favorite?
Touhou 16.75 ~ Alien Laser Hero

Larva is cute.
>>51101318Probably 14 itself, then 20, then 16. This doesn't mean I dislike 17, 18 or 19. Actually, I do sort of dislike 19, but the other two are fine, and to its credit there are a few characters who make the game more fun to clear but you start off with the lame ones. So I guess the gist is14 > 20 > 16 > 15 > 17 > 18 > 19

>DDCHaven't played enough to form a solid opinion.>LoLKBy far the best in terms of characters and music, patterns are good but it's just too hard for me.>HSiFSWhatever characters with the exception of Okina and Aunn, cool gimmick but it generates too much visual pollution.>WBaWCForgettable OST and visuals, most of the cast is boring; at least the gimmick won't kill you as much as in UFO.>UMSame as DDC>UDoALGSame as UM.>FWThe first three bosses are forgettable, the other characters are cool. It has some creative patterns and my favorite gimmick. Visuals and music could be much better.
HSiFS, although FW & UM aren't that far. HSiFS is a fun game to figure out and one that rewards you for doing so with the series' only score based extends that aren't piss easy to cap out. FW's Wonder Stones really shine in giving the stages an extra satisfactory oomph, stages that already would have been good thanks to an effort & commitment to more variety in enemy design & behavior, although the stones gimmick falls a little flat with a lack of incentive to do anything but a weird homonculus of the best traits, including those borrowed from characters that aren't playable. Comparatively, UM's build variety feels a little better and there's greater variety, from the broken to the Marisa, but the game itself isn't as tightly designed, although still enjoyable. DDC is a very neat game when it clicks, especially the stage and PoC 2.0 for a life piece system, I just wish it had more than 1 "balanced" shot. WBaWC is kind of the peak of ZUN's modern ZUNisms in my opinion, with more glaring visibility issues and excessive use of aimed bullets in stages, but it's still a fun enough title with an excellent, fleshed out cast. LoLK's 200 graze point for a life piece per chapter is also great but my enjoyment of it is soured by the fact I suck at it. UDoALG at its core is unfortunately broken and needs relentless offense with no hope of reversal to hope to even touch you, even on Lunatic, which happens more often than you'd think, but that doesn't make it good level design either.
