I hope all races get some gene editing at some point. Even just a single gene slot would be so fun to play around with (and would give genes a lot more use earlier in the game).

>>51114235Each livestock eats one pasture a day to produce things. It doesn't matter if they starve. Egg and wool quality is based on level. if you want to feed them, you can gift them the food directly.

I believe you can harvest more pasture per pasture with high level pasture seeds, so you don't go insane trying to feed your animals.Taming is used for two things afaik, first it increases the affinity gain when you brush NPC's (I have 80 taming and I can easily recruit anyone I want over a few visits), and second, it increases the benefits of high level milk when fed to babies. (So you don't really need high level taming if you already have the livestocks you want.)I'm gonna admit I only started ranching after I prepared my taming skill and pasture farms, but you can also just roam some plains tiles and harvest wild pastures. And as the other anon says, running out of pasture only stops milk and egg production, it's not harmful otherwise.
