Hatate LLM translation is "done", after ~25 human work hours. Dario taking Fable away from the cheap claude plan also massively factored into this decision.I may do some more reviewing of the files as soon as my usage limits reset, but the parts I already checked only had minor things to be corrected.This is not to say that this is a perfect translation, which would replace human tls and so on. I've only read ~20% of the EN output, and 2% of JP-EN comparison. With my jp good enough to read about 40 kanji in total I won't pretend I'm able to understand anything more complicated than a porn manga. But it feels correct in style.The few lines (~1000 out of 20000+) that had already been translated were seemingly done by at least two people, with one half being the base for this LLM translation, and the other half being so bad I had to completely throw it out. I kept the line counts of each file identical to the current gitlab files, and tried my best to match all other conventions as far as I could detect them.As there was no answer to my question if I should replace unicode hearts with HPH, I kept every instance as it was. For sfx and how to translate them I checked against a few other translated characters, and then picked the ones my dick licked best.As far as I spot checked the porn, there was nothing censored. If I do that second pass I'll also correct that.I played an hour into the game to see some Hatate stuff, but I'll be honest, era games are too grindy for me, and I am very much a secondary, even after 15 years of 2hu exposure. It is text only, its content has a simple structure, there are no weird cross-references across files, characters are very standalone, and Touhou is very very big, so LLMs know it by heart.The problem with AI is that it makes it very easy to "create", or in this case "translate" something, due to the lack of an entry barrier, made worse when they pretend they're not using AI, like that Biten faggot earlier.
