Acrylic Edition. This is a thread to discuss all-female Japanese bands that play their own instruments. Individual female instrumentalists and singer-songwriters are also welcome.
These are some nice acrylic stands! I don't think the married men in their audience will get away with buying them though. They do highlight something about Bridear's styling. Kimi and Ayumi on the one hand, and Moe and Haru on the other, look like two halves of two different bands.
A new thread is a good moment to talk about why we've had these threads for almost a year now. Fans of all-female Japanese bands tend to self-censor and keep it classy and clean on other platforms. This thread is a place to gossip and shitpost a bit.>why on /jp/?Because this thread is about Japanese popular culture. Also, the subject is not too far off from other 3D content on /jp/. A good number of artists discussed here are also former (or even current) idols, gravure models and voice actresses.>The band I like includes men. Are they allowed in this thread?Just post about the female members then.Old thread:>>51139482
Miyako. The Lovebites tour of Europe is going well, it seems.
>>51141318I never noticed Miyako's neck is that long! But indeed, Lovebites seems to be selling out their venues this tour.
Scandal sold out Osaka-Jo HallThe look on Mami's and Haruna's faces just screams 'Don't you fkn dare call us an over the hill legacy act anymore!'
Nek! zero-sum Live video is out:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2q9Qre9J_uE
>>51142535I really must listen to more Scandal. I've only been into female J-rock/metal for two years and most of that time has been taken up with getting a grip on Band-Maid's catalogue, so I have lots to still listen to.
>>51142944Make sure you listen to their debut EP and watch some live recordings from the time they were promoting their first full-length record. Scandal's early catalogue is full of fun and catchy songs that are easy to play on your own guitar.
>>51140528According to the BabyMetal thread, this topic was created to have a place for their annoying Hanabie spammer to post at, and leave them alone. It didn't work.
>>51143139I told him to get back here. Can't do much more than that.
Yunika Impact had her hair cut and colored. During a pause in the middle when the dye was setting she practiced her bass in the hairdresser's chair:https://x.com/carossa_mimomi/status/2082084327891107944
>>51143597She'd get away with spending the whole of the pause playing bagpipes and a snare drum at once, as a returning customer paying for all that.
The Last Diamond is going ahead with the livestream of their new MV, despite the untimely death of their guitarist Nekozuki Mei. Today is her birthday.https://youtu.be/U4Hn8-cQvTc?si=QuGH0W_CtBmw-Eq8The stream will probably turn into a mourning session.
Big girls require proper meals!
>>51142938NEK! should keep the live videos coming and build some hype for their new EP
STMLT appears to be planning an instrument switcheroo on the 8/2 show, their twitter account has videos of Kanachi on guitar, Mofu-chan on bass, Kirara on drums, and Sakitee and Akira on vocals.
Band-Maid is playing six shows in the US and one in Mexico in October. Five shows were leaked accidentally by TicketMaster, but there's also a sixth show. But wait, there's more...Nek! will be opening for them at both Budokan shows!
>>51147400>Kirara on drumsProbably not going to happen after that fracture. Will they also do a switcheroo with who gets to hold a presentation about shitting on the street and who gives advice to fans with a small dick complex?
>>51148410>fractureThat poor girl, if it isn't one thing, it's another...
>>51147400Hope Kirara wasn't depression drinking when this happened...
yo, some bitch from japanese rock band killed herself
Did anyone manage to see Lovebites at Wacken?Their current tour seem to be a success. Though I must say the crowds look even older than those at Nemophila and Band-Maid shows.
Chika is taking a hiatus from Hanabie due to health concerns and medical advice.
>>51148572Poor Marty Friedman! May her soul find its way to the Elysian Fields.
Lovebites with Broken By The Scream at Wacken.
>>51148572>>51149813What? Who?
>>51149696I wonder who will fill in for her. Probably some punk boy.
>>51150604Ruka is the stand-in for like three of the shows.Almost certain he was the stand-in:- After Boa left (before Sae joined)- After Sae broke her collorbone- After Sae left the band (just before Chika joined), and again now.I'm convinced the guy lives in the boot of Hettsu's car, like he's always available when needed.Gaku Taura (producer of their Girls Reform Manifest album) will fill in for one show.
>>51149952Anon probably meant to imply that Nekozuki Mei killed herself. We probably will never know what really happened. Though I am sure someone will come up with schizo theories about her profession being related to what happened.
>>51151502>I'm convinced the guy lives in the boot of Hettsu's car, like he's always available when neededThey probably saw this coming and made a backup plan or deal with him beforehand.Tell me Anon, do you actually believe that Chika is ill or injured? They might have just had a fallout. Chika was clearly fed up with all the nonsense promotional activities for a while, and never made secret of not even liking brvtal music that much. Maybe she's just done.
>>51151528Only time will tell.
Koiai is spending the weekend as the house band for Heavy Kawaii Fes. Four shows over three days supporting different idol groups. They seem to be having fun doing it, and in any case for Mirei and Yunika they're used to it.
That's quite a line-up! They should do an international tour together.
Idea: Matsuri with a cock titty fucking Yukina’s big, fat boobs.
>>51152692This is basically the Naon no Buntai line-up with Trident in place of Hagane (so, Junna's old band instead of her current one).
>>51152414What a flex for the idol groups to hire a bunch of divas as a backup band! And it's a good move for Koiai too. The glowstick swinging idol fans clearly like Mirei, and they are big spenders. Having some more of them in the fanbase won't hurt.
>>51149947The idols somehow look gayer than the band.
>>51151528I've never felt she fit in with the band, personality wise. Even the recent videos they put up of the shows they just did without her, they act like she was never there before, like it's always been just the three of them. I reckon it's the beginning of the end of her time with the band.
>>51154765It was clear from the start that Hanabie was a job for Chika. She wanted to tour abroad, and a music gig that actually paid the bills. The harajukucore, VIP fan photoshoots, and promotional activities never suited her. Chika's popularity with the fans is probably what kept her around a bit longer than initially expected. If Chika actually has any health issues, then she will probably conclude that Hanabie is not worth sacrificing her health for.
>>51155131And I just thought of something. Hanabie should invite Mirei to audition for them. Hiring an ex-Girlfriend was a bullseye shot for East of Eden. The whole harajukucore concept will actually come naturally to her. She is the same age as the three founding members, and can double as Yukina's much-needed dance instructor. Mirei would not give much of a shit about the actual music style, but neither did Chika, so that won't be a problem.
>>51148410Looks like she managed it after all. Hopefully they'll post some footage.
>>51153267Yunika said they played 88 songs over the four sessions.
>>51155193I reckon she used the other leg for the bass drum. I mean it doesn't really matter since they switched places on stage for fun but it's nice to see her out there given everything that's happened recently.
>>51155269I guess they used sheet music then, like Yunika did at her early Koiai lives. Still an impressive number!
Kosugi Yun is turning 18 this week. She has done a good job so far at transitioning from a junior idol to a serious artist, without alienating her substantial following of camera-wielding loliticians. I wonder if they'll lose interest or feel emboldened now.The Folklore Project events will go on for a while. Probably until she gets picked up by some production company.
Kanade is no hiplet!
>>51157311And now Hazuki has to get up and go on another tour as part of Mazari's backup band, starting tomorrow.
>>51157617Oh my, this woman really does not take breaks in between tours! I guess it's because she does not have a day job like Haraguchi, or a husband and kids like the other two Nemophila members. Now that we are talking about Hazuki anyway. How much do you believe of the rumours that she used to work as Lisa's nanny back in the days?
I wonder how fit girl normalfriend Nagi gets along with her dorky bandmates. They are probably just too mature to let such things get in the way of working together.
>>51159101From all appearances they all get along just great, if the behind the scenes and question answering videos are any guide. Plus the band is really well balanced musically and lyrically, as opposed to earlier when Sakura effectively ran things, so there's that as well.Sakura with a banana, because bananas.
>>51159879>Plus the band is really well balanced musically and lyrically, as opposed to earlier when Sakura effectively ran things, so there's that as well. You are right, Hagane is such a cohesive and balanced band. When I first got into them, I was really surprised to find out the four of them have not been together for all that long.>bananasNagi probably won't allow them to eat anything less healthy.
The Saki gravure was tame af. Not even a glimpse of dat ass.
>>51160477So that's why no one leaked it. There was just not much to see. We'll have to do with cleavage then.I found a nice new interview with her. Saki seems quite eager to have actual conversations with journos:https://visualmusicjapan.com/interviews/sakiturning-past-storms-into-a-full-bloom-with-pluviaShe even gives serious answers to airport self-help book tier questions like>Japan has a deep aesthetic around ma (間) — the beauty of silence, of the space between notes. As a Japanese guitarist, how conscious are you of controlling that silence?
>>51158278The face of a lady with three jobs and no breaks :)
>>51161833Little Sister Long Legs Mirei actually came to see her Mazari live. Looks like they are sticking together!
Two Yukinas celebrating mixed girl summer
Hagane has released another cover...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbIuiifD91w
>>51163656What an unpleasant shade of green! It makes the band look ill.I've never liked Iron Maiden much, but the Hagane senpaitachi seem happy, so that's good at least.
Why does the foreign audience ignore Sabasister? This is starting to look like Shishamo all over again!
Holy shit, both Tamu and Hazuki are leaving Nemophila later this year in October. https://www.instagram.com/p/DbvIZ-9j9-i/?igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
>>51165589Fkn called it in the previous thread!Okay, not the part about Tamu, but still.
>>51165589My day is ruined...
>>51165589I was afraid of this when they got a second guitarist, but Tamu leaving was a total surprise.
>>51165589I wonder if Chika would be interested in the drum vacancy? Just as much aggression, but way less weirdness.
>>51165990I wonder if Ika will become a permanent full time guitarist now.
>>51165667Look at the bright side! They're not disbanding completely
>>51165589Musical differences. Mayu and Haraguchi clearly wanted the bands style to change and the other two (along with Saki, probably) didn't want it.My guess is watching a certain metalcore band that played support for you at a show suddenly become more popular globally played a part in that. I might have been pissed too if all the work I put into my band got BTFO by a group or girls almost fresh out of highschool. Also, if ever there was a photo showing how awkward Chika was, this is it.
>>51167016I'm willing to bet the two bands had intense futa dick girl sex with each other that night.
>>51167016>My guess is watching a certain metalcore band that played support for you at a show suddenly become more popular globally played a part in thatNone of that needed to happen if Mayu did not insist on knowing better than their initial management, and doubling down on their silly pseudo-punk style. Saki was right to see it would go nowhere, and to leave. Hazuki was even smarter to get a backup plan going first, a plan involving a long-legged idol and some jazzheads. This nice little backup will BTFO Nemophila even harder than the high school girls did.
Cox2 released a new songhttps://youtu.be/GU05Bxie2QI?si=8tTkg4xCLzkNN-iMKind of surprising how none of the heavier bands thought of recording a music video at this scrapyard.
>>51166069She probably will. Finding a new drummer will be a pain though. Good luck finding someone their age with faith in the band's future! They'd better hold open auditions.
Lock up your girlfriends! Natsumi is on the prowl.
>>51170805Is she gonna suck Matsuri’s girl cock?
>>51170876>girl cockMatsuri will have to run like in the Tousou MV the moment Natsumi sees it.
First picture of Hazuki after a certain announcement. Not sure if I see more sadness or smugness on her face.
>>51171372I was wondering where Mirei was, then I checked and the rest of the band was backing up Metalverse this show.
>>51171629That's right. It makes sense to just give Mirei a day off if she has no lines to sing anyway.
Photographers are dumping unused Mei pictures now. At least her mum seems happy with them, instead of telling everyone to leave her alone.
What did Hagane mean by this?
Otoboke Beaver threw their bass into the audience and knocked a fan out. The poor soul was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance and got 7 stitches.
Li-sa-X had heatstroke at last night's Koiai show, she perservered to the end and is okay now. Be careful on hot days. It's nearly time for a new thread. I created this one, so someone else have a go.
>>51175886>heatstrokeThat's scary Anon! Some Fijian rugby player died to heat stroke in Fukuoka not too long ago.I'll make the new thread in a bit when we reach page 10. I have an idea for it.
>>51175914Fuck it, I went ahead and made it already.NEW THREAD:>>51176323Let's see if name-dropping some bands in the OP will bring in people who enter them in the search bar and get out of /jp/ when nothing comes up.
>>51175764Actually it was Yoshie who threw her guitar, not a bass. But damn, I don't want to imagine what Yoshie would be like angry.
