Is there still a way to download the original files from Nico Nico Douga?Until around 5 years ago you could still download the original, not re-encoded, video files and SWF flashes using either this fork of youtube-dl https://github.com/animelover1984/youtube-dl or this version I used myself back then https://files.catbox.moe/98g3xv .If I remember correcty you had to run youtube-dl -f smile_high --username 'yourmail@example.com' --password 'password' <link to the video>.Unfortunately I can't make those old versions of youtube-dl work anymore (maybe because of 2FA?), while with yt-dlp I can't even figure out how to login to check if smile_high is among the available formats.Sample FLASH for those who want to have a go at it: https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/nm10618962

>with yt-dlp I can't even figure out how to loginI don't think the login options work for NND so you need to put cookies into a text file and pass that to ytdlp with --cookies. But it looks like ytdlp doesn't give the results you want either.
>>51153101The original .swfs are long gone. The old domand APIs were deprecated after the Flash player went away and you can only get the MP4 reencodes that were made for the HTML5 player. Old versions of ytdl or yt-dlp won't help.
