Do you think Remilia, Flandre, and Kurumi's species of youkai, vampires, are real? There are many examples of vampire burials, or bodies seemingly buried in a manner to prevent them from coming back. For example, skeletons have been found with stakes driven through their hearts or stones placed in their mouths.

This is probably more of an /x/ thread, but it's generally understood that those vampire panic burials were due to the normal effects of decomposition (hair/nails seeming to grow, blood leaking from the mouth, bloated stomach, etc.) being mistaken for evidence of vampirism. Thus the bodies were buried with stakes in them &c.

I desperately want lolipire to be real tho

The idea of vampires being young, warm, and healthy instead of rotting corpses is certainly not real. You can certainly find people who will drink your blood, however.

The book ‘Vampires, Burial, and Death’ by Paul Barber claims to prove the superstition hypothesis but I have been unable to read a copy so I cannot assess its claims for accuracy. Something about that book and its adoration by skeptics feels suspicious to me. I saw a review talk about how chronic disease and acute disease can both cause bodies to decay faster, but I think that would account for the majority of dead people in the 1600s vampire incidents the book talks about. The government dug up bodies not suspected to be vampires for a control group and found different results.

They would also be very much attracted to the Scarlet sisters, however.
