What does JP think of Daiyousei?
I legitimately don't know where the long sidetail interpretation of hers came from. I think there just came a point where everyone agreed that's how she looked and that eventually bled into canon.She honestly looked like she had a bob cut of sorts in her original EoSD sprite. I wonder if the remake will keep it that way, or they'll retroactively make the remade high resolution sprites look like she had the long sidetail all along.

>>51154853>>51154926Whispered Oracle of Hakurei Shrine is official stuff, and the Daiyousei there follows the long sidetail interpretation. Which is funny because in the same book, Koakuma has her shorter hair interpretation, which is actually closer to how her sprite looked despite most fans seemingly taking her to have long hair similar to Patchy.
Koakuma and Daiyousei are funny characters in that they practically non-characters that still get elevated to the more popular end of the Touhou cast despite practically having no real presence simply because they're attached to two actually popular characters (i.e. Cirno and Koakuma). Just about any of the Newhus wish they had even a quarter of Daiyousei or Koakuma's popularity. To a lesser extent, this phenomenon can also be seen with Keine in regards to Mokou. But I guess at least Keine is a properly established character. The only thing she lacks is appearances.

He probably typically just gives a general idea and leaves the rest to the artist, which is how we end up with stuff like shoe-wearing Cirno in Bunkachou, the oversized maid fairies, and the infamous Lily Black incident, which all diverge significantly from official lore and designs.
