Lots of other 3D games keep surviving on a shoestring budget like Aether Gazer surviving for several years until they pulled the plug.

Any mobile game enthusiast knows just how cut-throat the platform can be. Every month, dozens of gacha games on Android and iOS announce their shutdowns, with even seemingly successful games getting the axe without warning. Apparently, according to a new report from Japanese research firm Teikoku Databank, Japan’s mobile and gacha industry might just be approaching its breaking point.

The firm reported that a total of 10 bankruptcies involving sumaho geemu (smartphone game) operators were ‘confirmed’ between January and July 2026. While that might not sound like much, it already ‘greatly exceeds’ 2025’s cumulative total of just three companies going under. It’s also on track to surpass the previous record of 12 cases way back in 2015. And with four months still left in the year, things could definitely get worse.

The report opens with, “Looking at the 29 bankruptcies of smartphone game operators that occurred within the past five years, very small businesses with capital of under ¥10 million (around $63,000) accounted for 15 cases, or 51.7%. There have also been bankruptcies of small-scale businesses after losing contracts from major game companies withdrawing from development, among other factors.”

honestly even if jp devs started making 3D games today, we'd only see the fruits of it in like 4 to 5 years because big 3D games like Wuthering Waves, Genshin Impact, Endfield and the like tend to cook for that time before getting released and they still feel undercooked and underbaked

Napoleon is the best pick and easiest to use if you still consider yourself a beginner. She doesn't have any weird self-destructive tendencies and is easy to play on auto. At most, you can manually queue up the first turn with other kh to increase her buff count, then let auto do its thing. Unfortunately, auto doesn't work too well if you want to rely on kh that have targeted buffs since they just fire randomly.

Leonidas is equally easy to use, but is generally considered the weakest of the S3s. She's lacking in firepower, takes too long to ramp up, and her exclusive EX is terrible. She might have niche use in palace where fights are guaranteed to drag on, especially normal attack zone 2, but she's not good for much else except loli manko.
