This will be the 1st year for Yuiman, Ariya, and Nina. The timing of the last one was rather unique, with the 1st three bosses being the only ones to be introduced to the poll, as only the demo was out, and at the tail end of it, the full version was out, enough to know that Toyohime was back, which led to her rise.I will be tracking the average age demographic of each character post results as I did the last few years. Although support has yet to begin proper, the main storylines to me will be:>Is the announcement of EoSD New Classic enough to catapult its cast even further up, perhaps to another Flandre win?>How are the newcomers gonna do? I have moderately high expectations of both Yuiman and Ariya, who I see art of semi frequently and retweeted. I would go for somewhere around Mid 50s, a bit higher than Nareko's start at 60th. My thoughts on Nina are a bit more dire. Although she's a good vessel for humor and was seen in CoLA, I don't see her nearly as much. In a way she reminds me of Biten, who people expected much more from since she was the most joked about girl, especially in the western fandom, but I think these kinds of profile tend to suffer from new toy syndrome into low fan retention the most out of any other type of character.>Will the fairies manage to make even more of a mark this year? It seems to have caught more eastern attention, i've seen a few artworks and even a small animation ahead of time, and I expect some of the main voices behind the western support of fairies to continue their endeavor.>Will anyone else make an unexpected breakout? Will it be traceable, or will it be more mysterious?>Has the continued rise of PC-98 girls like the Getsus, Mima, or Shinki reached its peak, or will it continue? Can Mima go further than 49th? >>51195700You Grow Bigger is definitely an iconic spell but it is not a fondly remembered one for a lot of people, if anything it may be the reason they still hold some kind of grudge against Shinmy. Its main offenses stem from the discrepancy in hurttbox sizes between Reimu vs Marisa/Sakuya, and the new hitbox sizes that started with TD, very important when you are to consider Shinmy uses the dreaded TH13+ knives, the only bullet type in the series (to my knowledge) that arguably stretches beyond your expectations, with it having been changed from a cubical to a circular hitbox, and beyond the only type of projectile where the true hitbox stretches beyond the outline of the sprite. Within Touhou's mostly generous actual bullet sizes, these'll be sure to throw people off even more and cause deaths and frustrations. True Administrator is a song I think works way better in its fight than in isolation. It's an argument you could make for just about any song but I don't know, whenever I fight Miko, her song does embody a sense of finality, divinity, and yet it makes me feel determined and focused. As for her fight's spells, I love the one with the glowing balls, that start at half opacity, and rotate all around Miko. It's probably my favorite spell that makes use of the entire space around you in the entire series (arguably because just being at the top is something that usually throws me off while here it doesn't). It's readable, it's fun, it's fast. That being said i'm still absolutely in the camp of Shinmy having nothing to do anywhere under or near Koakuma and its sad that its gotten even worse (56th vs 87th). Her song isn't doing bad at all either, Inchling of the Shining Needle is at a respectable 33rd, which puts it in the Top 5 of post UFO songs, just under Idolatrize World, Pure Furies, Egoistic Flowers & Desire Drive.
