How much does the lack of unified portrait design bother you or do you just play 100% vanilla

>>51205024I think you can barely reach all 20 resistances with +10 runes if you use your hand slot runes on resists.This gives you 12 material resists and 12 rune resistsPoison is free.Fire and cold are covered by 4 piece dragonscale (add a fifth if you broomify yourself).Lightning is covered by 3 pieces of diamond.You can also free up all investment into fire, cold and lightning with a high power element shield but this requires a lot of spellpower or gene engineering a pet to cast it.3 pieces of zylon and the mutation gives nether immunity, a fourth piece lets you avoid the holy weakness.This leaves 6 elements if you include ether which are covered by using 2 +10 runes each.Theres also faith bonuses and intonations giving free immunities but I dont want to include those because not everyone would want to or be able make use of them (get me off of horomes wild ride)That is 10 material hammers, more if you are at a low DL and need material hammers to upgrade resist runes to +10 to begin with. This has been the case since artifact fusion in E+ or the blacksmithing system in Omake. As things stand, it's possible to "craft" something that's identical to a wild dropped godly, but recon scrolls and Garok's clearly aren't cutting it for that crowd, because the vast majority of drops are vendor trash. I honestly don't think that changing the ingredients from a base item, scroll and two hammers to a bunch of ingots would change the sentiment if the result is the same.Noa's parts idea just moves the burden from trash equipment to trash parts, unless the parts are so finely divided as to be like 1 enchant each and you blend 8 or so of them together for a godly. But in that case, why not just expand the current runic gear recipes to hold more?I honestly think that nothing he does will solve the problem, because he doesn't want people to have minmaxed stuff to begin with, and from the other side people keep on saying "crafting" when what they want is "eight lines of non-trash enchants".

>>51205744The problem is conflating crafting to shoving things in a menu and getting the result.Its better to talk about the crafting that does kind of work, ranged weapons.Because mods have no penalties to being added and removed beyond the cost of the breaking powder it changes the target from getting a solidly rolled item to just rolling each of the components individually.No longer are you smashing your face into brick walls to get a six slot gun with all useful mods, you can steal from basetypes that are guaranteed to spawn with levelled ranged weapons to acquire mods.I remember my immense disappointment setting up a high level scarab farm in a nefia only to get fucked because scarabs always spawn with a minimum ilevel gun.Crafting should be interesting and it should reward good game knowledge, you know scaled titans of xeren will one punch you but did you know they spawn with leveled martial weapons that get turned to artifact quality if they are elite? Did you know cubes spawn with a full set of armor that can be of any type, including speed rings and vindales?Remember that AIRs spawn with a replica holy lance with massively out of depth enchants. Make then extractable again, make more items like that, but have strong negative enchants like the life malus and have the negative always be included with the rune.Have more stupid interactions like spamming cursed flyings and cursed enchant weapon (and be a dumb like me and forget guns dont go in the grinding wheel).Have items that arent instantly eclipsed by lol lmao 3 stats guaranteed. Maybe its better statarts, maybe its stupid things like armor with gene slots instead of rune slots or just have gear with strong base enchants but negative rune vessel (think cats paw but you cant slap in frustration to turn it into a poverty weapon).Its fine for gear crafting to be strong, it just needs to be interesting and reward engagement with the game. Slapping 8 runes in a menu isnt interesting, slapping 3 isnt either. Hunting down AIRs for their strong antimagic enchant as an early game alternative to struggling with weak resistance runes could be interesting.
