soon
>>51188295hell yeah, can't wait
>>51177491Speak of the devil and he shall appear... three to five business days later...Seems like I missed a bit of fun while I was gone, jealous of the anon who was able to go to that steam train event.
>>51188295Not soon enough.
>>51189039nice and yeah same

>>51188295First we must enjoy the autumn colors.
I always get jumpscairt when Oza Toro blasts through lol
It always amazes me how much of these pancake things (I forgot their name) they make, even on an ordinary weekday. They must be set up in a really good location.
Looks like Bessyo has got themselves a new train.
>>51198106nice, I haven't watched that one in a long time
Four people were killed by a Spacia X the other day.
>>51198270Elaborate?
>>51199128Workers weeding the track area at a station in Tochigi prefecture were struck by the train.
smol gaggle this morning
>>51199837nobody got off
>>51198270My damn dyslexia kept reading that as "Space X" and kept wondering how Musk's rockets landed on Japan...But something had to have gone seriously wrong for something like that to have happened in a safety-focused culture like Japan.

>>51205389that paintjob is truly something special
>>51202922How is this getting 200+ viewers at a time? It makes this rice paddy one of the most viewed livecameras in Japan lol.
>>51205689sex appeal
I love Japanese trains.>>51205689Rice is sacred.
>>51184730Oh hey I'm going there this year. Never expected the train station thread I always see on /jp/ to be a place I'd visit. What makes this place so popular here anyway?
>>51207475>Oh hey I'm going there this year.Get lots of photos and post them, and be sure to wave at us!>What makes this place so popular here anyway? Not the original anon who latched on to Yunokami or anything, but for me it's a nice scenic station that covers a lot of bases: beautiful mountain valley view, all four seasons + sakura, sleepy station with traditional architecture, neat area to see tourists at (footbath), lots of track view with the bend, plus the tiny bit of spur activity every now and then. Seeing Oza Toro go through, plus that steamer a while ago, really multiplies it.I miss Aizu-Wakamatsu a ton, but if we'd never lost it, I probably would've never seen Yunokami at all.
>>51208133Aizuwakamatsu station is still in service though, right? Or do you mean there used to be a camera there?
>>51208174They retired the camera that was there a few years ago. Apparently because "nobody was watching it". Supremely depressing.
I'm going to pick one of the snowiest days possible to go to Yunokami this year.
>>51208222I don't think I'll catch snow, maybe next time
Bit blustery in Okinawa at the moment.
>>51210458>>51210202>>51184730I have seen this particular station so many times in this thread and the many before this one. Which one is it again?
>>51210612Yunokami Onsenhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1MErdsqsw8
>>51206508>>51206660Sexy and sacred, how very Japanese.
>>51207475>What makes this place so popular here anyway? If you mean what makes it a popular stop, then it's because it's near a historical site and it has hot-springs. If you mean why do we watch it, it's because it's pretty and it's down the line from the old Aizu camera RIP. >>51208184>"nobody was watching it"IIRC, the original purpose of the camera was for the ISP who owned it (NCC) to show off their new high-speed internet, NCC stopped it along with all their cameras to save money.>>51210612It's our main camera, the link is always in the OP.
>>51212710>IIRC, the original purpose of the camera was for the ISP who owned it (NCC) to show off their new high-speed internet, NCC stopped it along with all their cameras to save money.nn, not surprisedI was just summarizing what an anon who inquired on our behalf said thoughtook him quite a while to even find someone to ask about the camera iirc
Unix timestamps are when the files are uploaded and do not reflect the actual photo time. Look for the conversion site.
>>51212786>took him quite a while to even find someone to ask about the camera iircNot that I remember how long it took me, but I probably just asked someone at the gates. I remember the first person didn't know anything about a camera. Then they found a more senior employee that allegedly knew about it. How much did they really know is under question. The reasoning they gave me was as you said, "Was not popular".
>>51214150ah right, that sounds more correct than what I said, thanks for chiming in
>>51214469
Apparently there's a fireworks show tomorrow
May 6, 2026, 1030, Yunokami Onsen Eki on spur road
>>51212641Imagine the steam train ploughing through that powdery snow, shame they didn't make it a permanent special tourism train.
Seeing this thread still exist with the same camera in the OP year after year brings me comfort
>>51218838It seems to me that in general they don't run the SLs during winter anyway.
https://mountshop.thebase.in/items/153458097How about a pocket watch?
>>51219800A pity, but understandable.
I wonder why there is a demand for domestic plane travel in Japan when they have the Shinkansen.
>>51223348It really depends on where you are and where you are going. In general the cost is roughly the same to go by Shinkansen as plane, but if I'm going Tokyo to Sapporo that's going to be faster by plane. If I'm going Tokyo to Osaka, it might come out dead even if you include the transit to the airport, preboarding time, and flight.Fukuoka is something like a one and a half to two hour flight from Tokyo, but more like six hours on Shinkansen.
>>51223491Japan is very large and the scale can be seen with thetruesize dot com
Old ramps no viewing platform
>>51223491>Fukuoka is something like a one and a half to two hour flight from Tokyo, but more like six hours on ShinkansenYeah, but when you consider the two hours at the airport and the one hour getting you baggage, it probably would be the same or faster to just get the train.>>51223790I often forget howe long Japan is, they have a tropical jungle at one end and icebergs floating by at the other.
>>51225621>but when you consider the two hours at the airport and the one hour getting you baggageUsually not that bad because it is domestic.
>>51223491Shinkansen - Southern Hokkaido to Southern Kyushu:Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto,Tokyo,Shin-Osaka,Hakata,Kagoshima-Chuo is 10h 45m including realistic waits. Add 3 to 4 hours for local transport at the extremes.
>>51227294About 2.5 hours by plane from Sapporo to Fukuoka.
