Zakamutt here, I'm not VNTS and I could never be, I'm much too lazy. I really respect his work though, back when we actually did it ourselves on Fuwanovel it took like hours of work (that I would consider boring) to check every site for progress. I imagine if you really optimized it you might get it down to an hour, but in the end checking so many information sources takes time.
