Well I've gotta be getting close to the end of Cocoro since all the dramatic stakes are on the table and they're setting up for a big finale with the flower and the evil robot, but I can't help but feel like there's not gonna be a very satisfying resolution judging from the direction they seem to be going.Is it bad that I don't want the obvious happy ending they're trying to set up? I feel like the protagonist is gonna make the robot girl want to live again, their love overcomes adversity, society is suddenly okay with them being a couple, and that erases all the existential angst of a robot literally falling apart without maintenance in the post-apocalypse, all because of protag-kun being yasashii and cool. I just want the sad shit to be real and not some manufactured gimmick that gets blown away by the "power of love" or some cop-out like that, like these VN writers always seem to do. I would rather have a sad ending where she ends up in the scrap heap and protag-kun has to live with the grief instead of waving a magic wand and making everything better.
