Did 5-6 again. For some reason easier than the first month I attempted it. Only a total of 14 sorties and 5 for last gage. Shelling support only needed at the boss node for the last gage to clear out trash before touch. Right now 5-6 is more annoying like 7-5 rather than hard. In difficulty it's maybe between 5-5 middle route and 5-5 top route but only if you're able to copy 90% zekamashi. I can imagine the difficulty really going up if you lack Yamato touch and 4-slot DDs. Now that's got me thinking how a newer admiral will attempt 5-6 without Yamato. Regular route needs a fast fleet so with a Nelson or NagaMutsu touch you'll be giving up slots for boilers when you already desperately need slots for firepower and touch requirements. There's a heavy fleet but that needs fast+. Maybe with a Kongou night touch and hoping for lucky targeting during day and lucky the cut-ins by your CL and DDs.

Select the green option to decently high-level opponents, take away Shoukaku's planes so you don't have to waste bauxite when they get shot down, add a sub tank and then just run the 10 PVP battles per day with her as flagship.

I don't have mikuma so I have to give the night plane to yahagi so she has no room for a sonar. also the only night bomber I have that lets ryuho asw is the tbm, but then I either have to cut a bonus damage plane or one of the fighters. it seems like 4 asw is critical or I get raped by the sub node, but what am I supposed to squeeze? with only one fighter on ryuho I'm not getting as at the boss, but that could also be because of my main fleet or my air base which is missing the second fighter bomber. also strong friends don't seem very strong, unless it's the carrier ones that are good, but I'm blocking them with saratoga and I don't have anyone to replace her with other than her sister who is only level 50. how do I unfuck my shit so I can get my airplane?

I also used extra slots on all the carriers for 12cm30 kai ni rockets for the airstrike protection proc, and putting stars on your seaplane fighters helps if you can afford it. 1 star on the battleship guns and AP ammo gets a good benefit since it's square rooted.

Does anyone actually use the FCF evacuation mechanic? Sure you can get to the boss more often but with at least one fewer cut-in you're not gonna sink her.

ok I lucked out and got grecale from the last run of e4. is it even worth beating e5 on teitoku mode if I don't even care about bearn? I look at the event page and see 7 sorties just to unlock the first boss and don't even want to bother. the only reason I would want to clear is because I would feel bad about failing the first event since I started playing 10 years ago. I was collecting clear screenshots, but I already fucked that up by accidentally skipping the one from lexington's event. also I'm at 197/200 so if I want to sortie to an event map again I'd have to scrap 2 of the ships I was planning on farming equipment from.
