SCANDAL editionThis is a thread to discuss all-female Japanese bands that play their own instruments. That certainly includes Koiai, Band-Maid, Hanabie, Hagane, Lovebites, NEK!, East of Eden, Scandal, Bridear, and what is left of Nemophila.Individual female instrumentalists and singer-songwriters are also welcome.
Old thread:>>51176323What do you predict the Scandal members will do after the band is over? I think Mami will come out of the closet and go solo as a folk singer. The other three will try to get pregnant with varying degrees of success. Haruna will fade from the public eye. Tomomi and Rina will hang on as social media personalities and occasional TV guests.
>>51214997Rina already has a solo project. Haruna will probably retire and take care of her dog. No idea about the others; Tomomi was the most introvert of them so i can see her retirement as well.
>>51215079Post more SCANDAL lewds. I need them for... reasons.
>>51215080Your request is quite... Scandalous
Miku needs to post her thighs more often
>>51215212Then she should hire Tomomi to be her thirstpost consultant.
As for the frequently asked questions:>why on /jp/?Because this thread is about Japanese popular culture. Also, the subject is not too far off from other 3D content on /jp/. A good number of artists discussed here are also former (or even current) idols, gravure models and voice actresses.>The band I like includes men. Are they allowed in this thread?Just post about the female members then.>Is this thread only about metal? No, go ahead and post about pop and jazz if you feel like it.>Can I spam Hanabie on the BabyMetal threads? No, you really shouldn't, that's why we're here.
Bridear's crowdfunding was a success, they have it open for five weeks, but they hit their 1M yen target in only 30 minutes.
>>51215399Edit: they hit 1M in 30 minutes, but their target is 3M, and they've since hit that as well.
>>51215406They are already at 118% of their target with 33 days to go. They can easily double it if some absolute madman actually decides to donate the max amount and book the band for 1,500,000 yen.
Nemophila released a new MV. Probably their last with Tamu and Hazuki.https://youtu.be/X7NDwZA63NE?is=8uqal8bxVho0SLM6
>having to wear a fkn sticker with your band name on itI'd look grumpy too
Band-Maid has completed their slot at The Greatest Rock Fukuoka, opening the show. Not many details as to how full it was at the time, but the maids seem happy, seeing as it was a dome show.
>>51217361That must be the event where the other bands performing are all retirement aged. At least the maids had fun!
>>51217485That's the one. It must be a bit strange for them to play at a venue where the rest of the bands are older than the audience, rather than the other way around.
Hagane got a good crowd at Ex Theater Roppongi, nearly a sellout, I think. Also, new album announced as coming out in December and an associated tour already planned.
>>51217877Good crowd, I’m happy they are finding success
My band is having trouble finding a lead guitarist. So far, I have been playing lead guitar and singing lead vocals both at the same time. I can do both at the same time and I'm good at it. But it is a lot of work and I would rather focus on doing one thing or the other. We've tried out a bunch of lead guitarists but none of them have worked out for various reasons (schedule conflicts, flaky people, distance, playing style, dedication and commitment level, etc.) I originally wanted to just be the lead singer in this band and not play an instrument so I could focus on singing, dancing, jumping around, and performing on stage but I've been playing lead guitar in this band for so long now that I'm kind of comfortable with it at this point. Should we keep trying to get a lead guitarist or just have me play lead guitar and we get a different singer? Which would be the easiest option? Right now, we're currently a four piece band with a drummer, a bassist, a dedicated rhythm guitarist/backup vocalist, and me on lead vocals and lead guitar.
>>51219694git guderic claptondavid gilmourtwo examples of singler/lead
>>51219713I'm not Eric Clapton or David Gilmour. Plus we're more of post-hardcore/metal adjacent kind of band.
>>51219723Get a different singer I would say. That should be easier for a hardcore band. And speaking of playing lead guitar and singing, Arisan of Icontinew loves to brag about how well she can do it:https://x.com/ARI_icontinew/status/2093307835123937608?s=20
Band-Maid with Night Ranger. You just know Sakura would have been there in the audience if she didn't have the Hagane gig the same day.

Hanabie went on TV again. Watch it before it gets taken down. Everyone is talking about Chika's absence. The longer it lasts, the more I actually believe she's coming back.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IUxUj6XrUew
