Do you draw? Are you working on a game? A website? A translation? Maybe a storefront... Tell me all about it
whackin' it to haruhi
>>51229894I busted like 12 times to Teto today man
>>51229894I want to make a collab 2hu manga but I can't find the motivation nor the time to sit down an entire day drawing
>>51230394a collab 2hu manga with /jp/"
>>51229894I want to create a /jp/ museum in the future.
>>51229894Making a drawing for Eiki's day.
>>51230846When is eiki's day?
>>512308566th
I finished watching all of Haruhi the other day. Sad it's over.Love Haruhi. Simple as
I decided to create and self-host my own Otaku-blog with focus on Anime, Anisongz, Figures etc~! I started this project about 2~months ago and i have really gotten far. I've built everything myself! :3wafuu.xyz
>>51230394>>51230406That is really vool anon. I am rooting for you>All dayAs a guy who draws, my rec is to try out starting with 100% kiddy tier sketches and whenever you get a chance rather than all day. Nobody sees your first draft and many artists have multiple drafts for every piece. Hell some mangaka go for stickmen type stuff in their storyboards.
>>51230441That would be fun.Stuff like the Lurkmoar wili have been down and otaku culture has been declining and being replaces for whatever twitter teens that find anime and manga and flood the hobby feel like doing, so having new ways to perserve the culture is appreciated>>51230846Post wip?>>51230948Sweet!Gonna give it a read later tonight. Sounds fun.
>>51231034Well I kinda want to make it an interactive experience, so anons brainstorm ideas and discuss them in the thread, and I do a page based on them.On a free day if I'm motivated enough I could do 3, MAYBE 4 pages using 70% of my effort so it's fast but looks good enough. The problem is motivation mostly, I have some free days that I use them for drawing something else or just do other things at all.
>>51230065>>51230874My eternal comfort and paradise.
>>51231048/jp/ is slow now, maybe take advantage of that and give yourself a whole weekend or even an hour a day to draw something from the thread.Sounds fun though. Looking forward to when you do it.
>>51230948Looks great, keep up the good work.
>>51231126Thanks, I'll try
>>51230948Why do you write like that?
>>51231042>Gonna give it a read later tonight. Sounds fun.Sankyuu~! I spent most of my time coding and very little time to post- but i hope you like it! :3>>51231730Thank you! I appreciate you support a<3wafuu
I'm writting a VN, my grammar is not the best though, I've been writting it for 5 months, not sure if it'll ever see light of the day, but, it's still meaningful to me. I can't draw for shit, I am not certain what I'll do for the character art even, I just want to finish writting this first draft to at laest get it outside of my head so it isn't just a fantasy.Already wrote like 100k words.I'm too shy to reveal more for now, sorry.
>>51232471Keep at it anon, you got this!>I can't drawAnon most VNs have terrible art. As long as you don't use AI people will enjoy the story even with terrible art.
>>51231042I'm currently just savind old /jp/ stuff. I wonder if I'll have the motivation to actually do anything someday. I really love this board despite its current state.
>>51229894waiting for S3
>>51233008You can check out a neocities tutorial or a github site tutorial and figure out how to make your own proper wiki later.
>>51229894fuck you for censoring the video
Im currently writing random stories to public on both deviantart and pixiv, figure it's the best way to get audiences from both eastern and western spheresWould like to one day try and make fan / community content, or lean more towards a japanese audience but am not there yet
>>51229894I write novels, I've been working on a video game, and a Touhou fangame. Progress is slow because I'm doing all three at once, but I am doing them.
>>51234191what are your novels like and where do you publish them?
my goal is to stop paying 3000 dollars a month rent for my dad he doesnt work
>>51229894I'm trying to survive in shitty factory job.
>>51234690Lace his food with cyanide or bongkrenic acid.
I'm a writer of transgressive fiction. My biggest influences are Bret Easton Ellis, Irvine Welsh, and Charles Bukowski. Strangely, my art has nothing to do with my hobbies, which are mainly /jp/-related.
>>51233822Do you mind posting a link and potentially write one of them in a few posts here?Would be fun to see.
>>51234690Move out? You should be able to rent something out for that amount of money.
>>51234719I should clarify it's fetish content, so no
Haruhi's bra...
>>51234721sitch is complicated>mom died>life insurance took yrs to fix, i repaid some of my fathers own debt toward my uncle out of what was owed to me, so i now have 22k out of 50k but this was a year ago.>we have a mortgage and intend to sell>morally, i expect him to hand me back all the rent i'd paid once we sell but ive never asked so he has the chance to be a literal monster.>i dont expect to see the 30k from earlier ever again
to all the writers itt, where do you publish your work and do you do it only in englishadditionally what's your writing process likei try to verse engineer every scene i write and sort of picturing in my head as a manga, making its panel its own moment i describe
>>51233311I'll check out a Neocities tutorial later. Thanks.I hope I can at least have the motivation to start this project.
>>51234943man i should take creative writing already and/or poetry. my major is english ffs
>>51233311not that anon but ive also made really barebones but functional sites using rentry but it is basic as hell,
>>51230948Woah how did you make a site like this?
>>51234705Do you have anything available to read? I like Bret Easton Ellis, Rules of Attraction was next on my /lit/ backlog
>>51234943I've posted here, on touhou-project, and on AO3. I've also contributed to a touhou fanzine (it was pretty heavy on the western 2hu fan vibes but a friend asked me to participate).Everyone has a different writing process. What works for me may not work for you. I'm a big fan of what I've heard called explorative writing, which basically means that I don't really know what my characters are going to do until they suddenly do them in the middle of me writing. I believe this is also how ZUN thinks about his characters, which is why he often answers questions in vague like "She probably..." or "I think she wouldn't..."I knew one guy who translated his stories into Japanese (he spoke English natively and Japanese at a high level) but what he wrote about was so symbolism and interpretation dense that I doubt the Japanese audience got much out of it.
>>51234975Post em anon!>>51234963youing in case this options works for you better.
Nah, I have a normal day job and I blow all my money on bushiroad tcgs. Hololive‘s is fun tho
>>51235424Thank you very much. I'll check that out as well.>>51230948Good job by the way. Looks pretty nice.
>>51229894Im a tourist on /jp/ but thought it was funny you mention a storefront in the OP when that's what I spent a lot of time working on today. Won't be selling any /jp/ or /a/ related stuff there unfortunately. But maybe someday I'll have a weeb product
>>51236629Feel free to share more about that.I am OP, I just want to hear about the cool projects posters here have. Hell you can even talk about workouts or hobbies or personal goals. Just nice seeing some otaku with ambitions chasing their dreams.
>>51230846Is it really today?
>>51236702Yep, as well as Saki's "Saki Day#9月6日は驪駒早鬼の日 Goroawase: 9(Ku)6(ro)=Kuro (black), i.e. Kurokoma, Prince Shōtoku's Black Pegasus.Eiki Day#9月6日は四季映姫の日Goroawase: 9(Ku)6(ro)=Kuro (black), tying into Eiki's black-and-white judgements."
The thing I mostly enjoy is quitting
>>51236717Good
>>51229894I'm just learning to draw and I have a story in my head, but everything comes to me as character expressions rather than wordsAlso apparently, you can just doodle around on your phone.
>>51234673Scifi. I'm pulling a Tolkien and planning on working on them for life, then dying and leaving my son to sort them out.
>>51235403But do you plan out everything you're gonna write before hand in any way? I mean surely you must have some loose ideaAlthough, that being said, since I kinda think of the moment I wanna write most then work backwards from there to form the scene - making sure things naturally lead to there - I bet a lot of this could be done in the moment while writing as long as I have a decent amount of character understanding
I am writing a song based on my impression of watching Haruhi. Words are a real work in progress as of now, I wanna spend a while really nailing every linehttps://voca.ro/1nfEtR6bShgN
>>51230948how exactly did you make this, did you just code it yourself or is something hosting / helping you create it
>>51232689>most VNs have terrible artSource?
>>51229894Love the idea of threads like thisOtaku culture is ultimately about creation not just consumption wouldn’t you sayEspecially on a slower board like this it might be fun to keep up in anon’s projects from time to time
>>51232391Nyooo~! datz how i've always talked on teh internet b4 it all g0t t0000 seriouzz nyo~! srsz sux0rz. ;3>>51235313 >>51237370By using l33t hax skills - AI. I spent an INSANE amount of time working on this site - and i have used LLM with writing a lot of the code - but I am behind the look and feel. It's very much as placing a large puzzle, piece by piece. Small bits of code here and there. I am self hosting and running a Ubuntu Server 24/7 from an old gaming-setup! It's been a lot of fun and a lot of headache along the way! >>51236178Sankyuu <333
>>51229894I’m a professional gooner to anime girls. Still figuring out what advances to make there.
I started sewing last year. It's really amazing to see my progress since then; getting semi-decent fabric and a good sewing machine make such a difference in qualityAs promised to an anon in one of the drinking threads, here's some Lucky Star fumos I just finished
>>51237711I really hate it when art, especially one with so much passion behind it like many anime, manga, and games do, is used for escapism. It is a window into the world of someone else, what can be learned from art is truly priceless. Is it not silly to cower from sincerity? I have my own things I am pushing myself towards, and lately I have been really wanting to see others who are doing so as well.I would love to make this a regular thing, but I did not want to try and force a general. This is pretty much a test run, of anons have cool projects and wips to share I will keep making threads like this one.
>>51236868Then why not make a storyboard, an animatic, or a rough manga?
>>51238162Holy based
>>51238162Anon this is crazy I can't believe you made your own fumo.I started sewing a bit recently just as means to fix my stuff, this type of work is still black magic to me.You should make the whole cast
>>51237254Sounds great anon.I hope you keep it up.For some reason I imagined correctly that it will be singing and guitar. Would you like a visual to use for when you post it?
>>51238264Are you artistically inclined? I can be a truly slow worker - the old adage of "either 6 months or 6 minutes" is so real, especially in the years since I left college. If I really hunker down though, and I have the right motivation, I've finished songs within just a week, and not long ago! I think I'll need to watch Season 1 again to get the proper inspiration. I want it to be real lush, with a fan organ and maybe some extra percussion
>>51238173Isn’t it easier to just make a character and vague post it on twitter first? It also gives you more dopamine. Like, I used to make rough manga back in elementary school, but I eventually ditched it, probably because I lacked feedback while doing it. For now, I’m just tracing characters from anime frames I like until I get used to this tool. It’s not like I’m taking it seriously anyway, since I’m only doing it on my phone
>>51238347If rhat is what you find fulfilling, sure.I think you should give riugh manga another shot, though. Or, maybe something like painting scenes from your story.A phone or computer do not make it more or less legitc ,tools are not what defines the quality or label of your work.
>>51238183There are some decent tutorials and resources out there if you want to make one yourself. Mostly around the body. Clothes are especially trial and error and fucking up constantly, but I'm really proud of this result
>>51237866Can you just explain to a total noob how to use a LLM to code a basic site, then i guess id just host on neocitiesMostly just wanna be able to make text pages and include images, like a big repository
>>51230948how'd you get 300+ views on the site, like where do you advertise it
>>51229894I'm making a Touhou doujin, but I fear it might get ignored in the sea of perfectly rendered AI sloppa that pixiv is becoming. I should have done it 10 years ago.
>>51238421Not him, but do you at least know the basics of how websites work? You can start with opencode, desu. Do some planning first ask around about what the website actually needs or even just do some manual research before using it in build mode
>>51230846WHERE IS IT?
>>51229894I can only do one difficult thing at a time because ADHD, so just planning my long Japan trip. If I had someone who'd do the art with me though, I'd like to turn my touhou manuscripts into a comic. Story idea is the gap between th05 and th06
>>51238697Never said I'd post it. It is finished though.
>>51238162now this is talent
>>51238877POST IT
>>51238763Sounds cool anonWhat’s your story idea
>>51239096I made it so Mima picked up Marisa up as an abuse victim when she was a kid and took her in, Marisa losing her memories. Some time after th05 ends, mima crosses a line, antagonizes marisa and by extension reimu, who gets gensokyo on her side. Yukari shows up here somehow (maribel shenanigans), makes the youkai barrier, also seals mima away with reimu. And this should tie in with a future (post th20) incident where mima escapes after living for eternity in a torture dimension and going schizo, does an igyoukyou on gensokyo as revenge.
How many anons itt are also in the NEET threads? It's nice to see the other side of the coin.
I recently publish a demo of my visual novel/dice combat game on itch.io for /vg/'s demo day, about 45 of reading/gameplay. It is my first attempt at making a visual novel since Shock Cocoon some 15 years ago.https://kritzinger.itch.io/legend-of-pong-long-fighter-sunnyna
>>51238421>Can you just explain to a total noob how to use a LLM to code a basic siteWell~ It's not really that hard to start - I just used chatgpt - said I wanted to create an blog - and for it to write a basic script with a image uploader etc. Here's whats my fist "test" looked like. Issue it uploaded everything locally so I had to create a back-end with an admin dashboard, uploaded etc. If you are curious, just start, that's the simplest way! :3
>>51240087sankyuuill try to make a site where i can publish stories
>>51240092It's a lot of fun and chatgpt been really helpful in building wafuu.xyz! I used the free version, and sometimes it lose track of what i want to do, and thats annoying. But it's amazing how much you can do with a little help! ^^
>>51240155man doing this all with free chatgpt mustve taken forever, so many data limits
I'm working on a bimbo sissy hypnosis game where toewhos dominate you and turn you into a faggot sissy
>>51240222Hot, keep us updated on your progress.
Yes, it's really annoying at times, but i realized i could just make a new chat and continue- and sometimes it remembers, and sometimes it doesnt and i've to explain again were i was. But it was doable. I've question if i should just pay for it - but so far i think its possible for free! Atm I am adding glow to the feature post! :3 but yeah- i've spent hundreds of hours and spent 5-6h each day+ whole days during the weekends. Worth it! I really think it's a lot of fun! Wafuu~!
I just put the head on my Youmu stained glass! I figured there was a severe lack of actual irl touhou stained glass pieces, so I figured I'd give it a try. My first real stained glass project so I think it came out okay. Still iffy on how I'm gonna do the details on the face tho.
>>51240449wow this is really cool anon!
>>51240449oh mah gawd, that turned out far, far better than I expected.
>>51240449That is amazing
>>51240449This is sweet!>FaceI guess that is really tricky. What if you made the skin lighter next time (or even clear), and use it as essentially a blank slate for glass paint? Or keep it as is and draw her with her eyes and mouth closed.Crazy work, if you have any progress shots please post them.
>>51240449Hey, I wondered how your work was going. Very cool!
>>51240702Here's what her head looked like before foiling.>>51240747I moved out of state, so I don't have the time to really work on anything. The labor day weekend gave me a good excuse. I cranked out Youmu's head from start to finish in about 7 hours straight.
>>51240757>I cranked out Youmu's headYOUMU NOOOOOOOO!!!!
>>51240449imo doesn't needs a face
>>51240449Looks wonderful
>>51240254I recommend dropping the 20 for a month just to get a website up. You can do a shitton with Luna because OAI is probably the most generous company on the market with subscription-level weekly limits, aside from Astra recently. Plus, unlimited chats atm or at least a really stupid large amount I've never hit the limit of. And HTML is pretty idiot proof so if you're just making a website that + having Codex for a month will probably save you an incredible amount of effort and annoyance. Just remember to make a bigger model analyse it afterwards to pick up any vibe coded bullshit." Normal workflow for most people atm is either Sol or Astra to plan, send to Luna to cheaply execute, have Sol or Astra analyse at the end. I would recommend Claude because Claude Code is genuinely superior to Codex at the moment but Claude models are just irritating to speak to.
>>51240449Adding detail here can easily ruin the aesthetic or drastically improve it. It’s a real gamble
>>51240449I think the minimalist face is better than actually doing a face unless like you're super familiar with acid etching and have backups.
>>51229894Focusing on drawing lately; I got hooked up with some nice utensils today so, here's a quick Youmu doodle
>>51241268She looks like she could circumcise me in a thousandth of a second.
>>51240087Oh yeah I guess if it’s all just HTML then you can easily just save it locally and test itThen once you’re satisfied upload it to some hosting service and make edits along the wayI guess for me I’d want to make sure it was easily editable for additional posts, pages, etcThanks for the info!
>>51241956lolz i edit live! xDAs I've made a backend - which means I can login anywhere i want with an admin page to create posts etc. For coding I use Tailscape SSH, which is a private VPN which only lets the nodes I installed on my hardware to connect to each others. So Main computer --> SSH --> Server. >>51241956
>>51241268Disapproving youmu
>>51238432The true essence of doujin is making something just for the love of the game
>>51242820NTA but I get it, it is heartbreaking to see something you genuinely put your blood and sweat into, get buried and unrecognized; while something else that was half-assed gets tons of likes and everything. Though to be completely realistic to that Anon, this has been the case even before AI became a thing, and besides on Pixiv of all places you can at least turn it off, which is something I believe many users have done for obvious reasons.
>>51242859Making something is the fun part, wanting to know what other people think about it is another fun part but not a limit for the former.Creations should always fulfil the creator first and foremost, everything else is secondary
>>51243963This is an empty platitude in the world we live in, and you know it.
