I've been into Japanese stuff and anime since the 90s and I never got the appeal of 2hu. I do like this one's wings, though.

I genuinely can't understand how anyone can, by the time they get a 1cc, still like the songs. As for the story, calling it "really good" is an extreme stretch, it's a story full of holes, contradictions and most importantly, nothing ever happens. After a incident Reimu hangs out with the person who caused it and that's that.

>>51241844It could be just not for you.The music is a big motivator for me to keep trying in the shmups, and I really like the way touhou tells the rich history of the characters and world leading up to the incident through subtle context clues, spell card names, designs, the original inspirations for the characters...If your attitude towards this is "How can anyone like this" then I can not help you much, but, if you want to give it a fair shot and are willing to try and like it, you can try the remake that is releasing tomorrow.
>>51242097I have played the games, some even on lunatic. But I only stayed because I liked the gameplay. As I've said by the time I've gotten a normal 1cc I've grown to hate the music because of how repetitive it was, and because of how many times I've had to listen to it up to that point. My attitude wasn't "How can anyone like this" it was "how can anyone who has actually played the games like the music."
