when i started playing touhou, i realised the games arent actually about weaving through complex danmaku patterns, but finding out the most cheated ways to not actually have to dodge the bullets and perform the most minimal weaving possible. in most touhou gameplays youll see, people will just find one cheap spot or corner to move in as little as possible and avoid attacks entirely.
>>51291148Isnt that every bullet hell game ever? You are never going to dodge everything on reflex alone after the first time you see a pattern.
Figuring out the pattern, misguiding bullets, streaming etc. are all a part of the game, yes, you're not wrong to notice some segments can be stripped down to safest strats with barebone dodging. If instead you want micrododging kino then you always have UFO, StB and DS (and propably some others, I just don't want to do a mental marathon on the entire franchise right now). Tremendous fun if you love em, hard filter if you hate em. Most people seem to end up filtered, so 2hus usually will feature simpler, cheatable patterns so people don't shit bricks.Something most people don't realize is that shmups are agility based as much as they are a puzzle in motion. Some attacks will be more puzzle oriented, some will toss random shit and you and yell "dodge".

>>51295446Yeah but you still have your memory, even if you are pro you will still remember the pattern and do what worked last time.I dont know any game with completely random patterns where you will be dodging on instinct alone. Aside maybe Enter the Gungeon with the random enemy spawn leading to random patterns? Even that game i still have strategies and habits that i use every time to dodge the random patterns.
