Napalm editionThis is a thread to discuss all-female Japanese bands that play their own instruments. That certainly includes Koiai, Band-Maid, Hanabie, Hagane, Lovebites, NEK!, East of Eden, Scandal, Bridear, PaleNeO, and what is left of Nemophila and STMLT.Individual female instrumentalists and singer-songwriters are also welcome. As for the frequently asked questions:>why on /jp/?Because this thread is about Japanese popular culture. Also, the subject is not too far off from other 3D content on /jp/. A good number of artists discussed here are also former (or even current) idols, gravure models and voice actresses.>The band I like includes men. Are they allowed in this thread?Just post about the female members then.>Is this thread only about metal? No, go ahead and post about pop and jazz if you feel like it.
Part two of the European tour must be a joint ticket with at least one of the other bands mentioned. Why else drop their names?I, for one, would not mind seeing Hagane and Frozen Crown!
As long as we're on the topic of international signings, JPU Records have picked up international distribution for Lonesome Blue's album Fourth Dimension.
>>51296169Lovebites is also signed to Napalm, and I don't think they've said anything about their 2027 plans...
>>51296213Then JPU records should organise an international tour for them. No one is going to buy their records anywhere else than at the merch booth.
I love Mayu. She's one of my favorite metal vocalists.
>>51295983How come there are so many japanese/asian female bands?
>>51298110A few reasons. Their school system requires music classes in their curriculum so everyone gets their hands on instruments. They also require a certain number of electives, and music clubs are a popular choice for girls. Part of that was accelerated by the popularity of K-On and some other animes. A shit ton of girls in bands have said in interviews that K-On was a favorite of theirs. Then there's a few centuries of Geisha/Geiko culture baked into the culture. Girls would start training at 15 to become musicians/hostesses. That's more directly related to Maid Cafe culture, but I think that there's an overlap with that too.

>>51296169Looks like you have a chance to do so, just need to get to Japan in March...
>>51298569Not bad! But if I travel all the way to Japan, I would rather see some artists I have no hope of ever seeing here.
I wonder if Nanami of E'sekai is half Pinoy. She sure looks the part. Maybe she's just a case of Ryukyuans not really being Japanese to begin with (many such cases).
More E'sekai.
>>51298132There was that one instance where a top idol group did a comeback with instruments they all learnt on hiatus.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLisOu9dEJ0

>what is left of STMLTFkn nothing!
>>51301851That's a pity. I wonder if Kirara will stay in music, she has a degree after all and could move on. I would think Kanachi should be in high demand, I wonder where she will end up next.
