Napalm edition

This is a thread to discuss all-female Japanese bands that play their own instruments. That certainly includes Koiai, Band-Maid, Hanabie, Hagane, Lovebites, NEK!, East of Eden, Scandal, Bridear, PaleNeO, and what is left of Nemophila and STMLT.
Individual female instrumentalists and singer-songwriters are also welcome.

As for the frequently asked questions:

>why on /jp/?
Because this thread is about Japanese popular culture. Also, the subject is not too far off from other 3D content on /jp/. A good number of artists discussed here are also former (or even current) idols, gravure models and voice actresses.

>The band I like includes men. Are they allowed in this thread?
Just post about the female members then.

>Is this thread only about metal?
No, go ahead and post about pop and jazz if you feel like it.
>>
Part two of the European tour must be a joint ticket with at least one of the other bands mentioned. Why else drop their names?
I, for one, would not mind seeing Hagane and Frozen Crown!

As long as we're on the topic of international signings, JPU Records have picked up international distribution for Lonesome Blue's album Fourth Dimension.

Lovebites is also signed to Napalm, and I don't think they've said anything about their 2027 plans...

Then JPU records should organise an international tour for them. No one is going to buy their records anywhere else than at the merch booth.

A few reasons. Their school system requires music classes in their curriculum so everyone gets their hands on instruments. They also require a certain number of electives, and music clubs are a popular choice for girls. Part of that was accelerated by the popularity of K-On and some other animes. A shit ton of girls in bands have said in interviews that K-On was a favorite of theirs. Then there's a few centuries of Geisha/Geiko culture baked into the culture. Girls would start training at 15 to become musicians/hostesses. That's more directly related to Maid Cafe culture, but I think that there's an overlap with that too.

I think they will confirm her as a permanent member after the last live with the current line-up next week. The bigger question is: will they introduce a new second guitarist?

I am no expert on Japanese labour laws, but if Chika is actually on sick leave, then it would be against her best interest to resign before she makes a full recovery, even if she does not actually intend to return to Hanabie.

Maybe they just have not found the time in their schedule to hold auditions for a new drummer yet. That seems less likely though. Sony can probably arrange most of that for them.

Min from Amagoi will be support guitar for Little Lilith in November as Mayto is apparently unavailable for a few shows. Looks like Amagoi is on slowdown right now, as their bassist had to drop out for health reasons and they already didn't have a drummer.
>>
Lovebites will go on a hiatus in 2027. Looks like it's time for their husbands to make themselves useful.

I am sure Yoshida Sakura popped the champaign when reading this news.
>>
>>51320340
I wonder what they will be doing. Is it a tour-only hiatus like Band-Maid's, or are they taking the year off altogether?

Fami at least will be busy I expect with her own songs and support duties, she seems unstoppable and in any case she's years younger than the others.
>>
>>51320368
Just a tour-only hiatus, same as Band-Maid. The other all-female bands better take advantage of this vacancy at the top ASAP.
>>
>>51320383
Hagane will try hard to take advantage for sure.

>>51320309
>Mayto is apparently unavailable for a few shows
Maybe Nemophila will present Mayto as their second new guitarist. She was in a band with Mayu before, so I am sure she was at least on their list. It would be a fun way to launch a brutal rivalry with Hagane.
>>
>>51320383
Are Band-Maid still going to make music next year? I thought it was a full blown hiatus, as in radio silence for the year.
>>
>>51320340
There seem some odd things about this announcement. First, it's so late in the year, they're nearly done their 2026 shows. Band-Maid announced their break months ago, early in the tour season, and their fans have had months to prepare for the break. Also, they only in February signed a distribution deal with Napalm, the same people Hagane just signed with (see OP), so it seems an odd time to retreat from the tours now. It's the abruptness of it all that worries me.
