Okay, but seriously, how do I actually move to Japan and obtain citizenship (not just permanent residency) and fully integrate into their society? I want to integrate into their society, learn their language, marry one of their women, have children there and completely shed behind everything before so that I can literally become Japanese.

Also no I'm not a jeet, seamonkey or other flavour of shitskin.

No matter what you do or achieve you can't.

If you grew up and spent most of your life in your home country how can you expect to "become Japanese"? You can only become a fellow citizen of Japan, but you're not ever going to change your ethnicity or your first ~25 years of life, I'm assuming. Very silly desire.

Well, never mind all that, OP. This has nothing to do with this thread, but would you just listen to me for a little bit? See, I went to the local Yoshinoya today. Right. Yoshinoya. And the damn place was packed so full of people, I couldn't even find a seat. So I looked around a bit, and I found a sign that said "150 yen off". What the hell is wrong with you people? Are you idiots or something? Any other day you wouldn't even think of going to Yoshinoya, but if it's 150 yen off, you all flock in here? It's just 150 fucking yen! 150 yen! And you're bringing the kids too. Look at that, a family of four going to Yoshinoya. Con-fucking-gratulations. And now the guy's going, "All right! Daddy's going to order the extra-large!" Shit, I can't watch any more of this.

Yoshinoya should be fucking brutal. Two guys sit facing each other across a U-shaped table, and you never quite know if they'll suddenly just start a fight right there. It's stab-or-be-stabbed, and that's what so damn great about the place. Women and kids should stay the fuck away.

Well, I finally found a seat, but then the guy next to me goes, "I'll have a large bowl with extra gravy!". So now I'm pissed off again. Who the fuck orders extra gravy these days? Why are you looking so goddamn proud when you say that? I was gonna ask you, are you really going to fucking eat all that gravy? I wanted to fucking interrogate you. For about a fucking hour. You know what? I think you just wanted to say "extra gravy".

Now, take it from the Yoshinoya veteran. The latest thing among the Yoshinoya pros is this: Extra green onions. That's the ticket. A large bowl with extra onions, and egg. This is what someone who knows his shit orders. They put in more onions, and less meat. A large bowl with the raw egg, that's really fucking awesome. Now, you should know, if you keep ordering this, there's a risk employees might write you up. This really is a double-edged sword. I really can't recommend this for amateurs.

And you, OP, well, you should really just stick to today's special.
>>
>>51328147
You don't. You could before, I did it, but they're raising the requirements on everything now. I'm glad I got citizenship years ago instead of waiting.

Japan is full. We don't want any more people coming here. Take the hint.
>>
The typical path I’ve seen is:

1) quit an underperforming life overseas to enroll in language school in Japan
2) fuck around for two years without building the skills or experience to actually stay in Japan
3) as your language school wraps up, freak out and apply to hundreds if not thousands of jobs across Japan
4a) beg employers for sponsorship so you can stay in the country, or
4b) marry a Japanese person to stay in a marriage visa

4b is easier for the white gyaru-ish weeb influencers, and desu that is basically how all of them stay in Japan after a temporary working holiday / language school stay. 4b is basically closed off to guys unless you’re extremely attractive and have a very good grasp of Japanese.
4c) both of those fail -> return home after wasting a few years of your life and building nothing tangible

Jokes aside, the actual stay is work your way up to director/VP level at a large international company and somehow get the expert visa to be sent to Japan, or built the world-class skills needed for Japanese companies to *want* to sponsor you. This shifts the power dynamic from “gaijin begging companies for sponsorship” to “Japanese companies are actively recruiting an extremely talented foreigner,” but this is also much much harder, is not guaranteed to happen, and would require extensive education (MBA/MS/PhD level), technical or people leadership experience, niche skills Japan demands, and an otherwise extremely successful life abroad which does not at all match with the life otaku foreigners tend to lead.

With the current political climate and the changes that the government has been making to the immigration system, all of those paths have either closed off or are closing off soon. Even in the case of marriages, they're getting a lot stricter with approvals for marriage visas and it's likely that immigration will judge your marriage as a visa scam and tell you to go home.
>>
>>51328805
Yeah, which is why I think the only realistic viable way moving forward is the expert visa. So, hopefully you’re an experienced STEM researcher; software developer; manufacturing lead; or otherwise someone with the profile Japan *needs* to want that person in the country.
The most successful long-term Japan immigrants are the ones who don’t *need* Japan to fix their lives. These people would be competitive worldwide. Japan is just an option for them.
>>
>>51328810
Software development won't cut it these days. You would need to be fluent in Japanese to get a decent job. There used to be a sizeable number of jobs using English but most of those have been heavily affected by AI so now you really need Japanese if you want a legit job. The only ones left are literal scraps.
>>
>>51328821
That’s fair. You’re probably more familiar with the local job market than I am.
>>
>>51328825
Yeah I'm a software developer lol. Can't speak for the other fields.
>>
>>51328831
Godspeed. Best of luck immigrating to Japan, if you’re not already there; and hopefully the AI situation doesn’t impact your job if you’re already there. If you’re already there, I’d honestly become an AI guru and become the kind of professional who deploys enterprise AI workforce solutions for software development. That’s the kind of professional Japan would likely need.
>>
>>51328147
You'd probably either need to be independently wealthy before going or have some kind of in demand, high paying job to be accepted. They aren't going to give you citizenship if all you're doing is working minimum wage jobs or doing dubious freelance work.
> I want to integrate into their society, learn their language
You're likely going to have to do these things first, just to prove you're worthy of it. You might also be able to speed up the process if you marry a Japanese woman first , but you'd be hard pressed to do even that if you can't speak Japanese, unless you manage to find a woman who speaks fluent enough English to form a relationship with. There are also some devastating blackpills you may have to swallow regarding modern Japanese women but I won't go into that here.

You'd also have to given up your presumably US citizenship to do it too. We had a family friend, white guy, who basically did everything you want to do. He spoke and read the language, married a Japanese woman, had a kid with her, even taught a class on Japanese religions at a college (in the US) and wrote at least one book on the topic, yet he never obtained Japanese citizenship because he still had things to do here.

Despite what people here may tell you, I think you should follow your dream. This family friend passed away but I'd like to think he did so after living a happy and full life, doing exactly what he wanted. It will be hard and you might not make it, but wouldn't it be nicer to live with a residency in Japan even if you never make it to full citizen than it is living wherever it is that you live now?

if you go to nippon you wont be able to integrate, not even the 3rd and 4th gen koreans can integrate.

you should just go to russia. what you want is actually possible there and they have a legal pipeline for it. you dont even have to know russian at first to initiate that process. you might have to fight in ukraine though, it remains to be seen.
>>
>>51328899
That’s brokemaxxing in Japan, and no one there likes or respects ALTs. So, why bother?
>>
>>51328147

>>
>>51328898

If you want to earn below the poverty line and have no job security, be my guest. English teaching jobs are also starting to get replaced by AI now under a new government order.
>>
>>51328898
explain how to live there permanently if you're independently wealthy, asking for a friend. hes rich and wants to become a gaijin torento for the fuck of it
>>
>>51329018
Probably business owner visa. It requires a substantial investment now (hundreds of thousands of $?), but you can probably set that up for a few years as you find a Japanese spouse
>>
>>51329006
English teacher is just so highly replaceable that it’s not worth pursuing that as a path for permanent residency. There are so many weeb foreigners desperate to become English teachers just to live in Japan that anyone in an English teaching position is at risk of being kicked out of the country
>>
>>51328147
If you wanted to do this you should have done it 20 years ago. Now, the government is closing off pretty much every "easy" immigration avenue, and traditional gaijin jobs like ALT or Eikaiwa are dying because of both AI and a declining market.
Your only option these days is a business manager visa (which requires a 200,000 dollar USD investment, physical office space and having at least one Japanese employee hired full time) or be an expert with at least 10 years experience in a very specific, highly demanded field. But of course if you have that kind of experience you'd make more money literally anywhere else except Japan.
Marriage is still an option but it's highly scrutinised (as in, you need to prove to the government you have been in a relationship for a while) and even when you get in, it needs to be constantly renewed and you are limited as to how much you can work under a spouse visa so better hope your wife can provide for both of you.
It's also worth noting that every single one of these options requires you to be fluent in japanese BEFORE you even get there.

At this stage it's just not worth it. Wait a decade or two for Japans economy to collapse due to depopulation and then they'll likely be opening the doors to immigration
>>
>>51329044
Some of those things are why I’m not even bothering with the immigration question. I’ve seen people my age extremely broke because they moved to Japan on language school student visas or working holiday visas, and they all end up doing miscellaneous jobs.
If, eight years from now, Japan is interested in a world-class professional with extensive digital manufacturing experience, AI leadership, and an MBA, I’d be willing to be recruited into Japan temporarily. Otherwise, I’ll just earn my high salary in the US and vacation like a well-off tourist once or twice a year in Japan.
>>
>>51329018
Looking into it, it seems I was wrong on that when it comes to Japan. You can't buy your way in with a golden Visa by buying property, investing in businesses, or just paying the government like you can in some other countries. You CAN do those things if you want to expand your portfolio or something, but it won't get you citizenship. That said, money opens many doors, and while it may not outright buy citizenship, it will give you advantages people on a normal income typically don't have. Either way, you're going to have to live there for at least 5 years and pay taxes while you do it, to both Japan and the US until you can swap the US citizenship for the Japanese one. Apparently the US can be quite greedy when it comes to income tax, because they'll still make you pay it to them even if you're not living and working in the US so long as you are still a citizen.
>>51328962
Let's just say that despite how they may appear on the surface, they are no better than western women when it comes to things like cheating. I can't say I have personal experience, but I've heard that cheating is quite the epidemic there. That being said, I doubt it's any worse than it is in the west, with it seemingly being a problem everywhere in the world these days. I'm just saying don't expect the women to be any more wholesome or pure than western ones or you might end up very disappointed.
>>
>>51329054
There’s no reason to assume Japanese woman are fundamentally different from women elsewhere, even western women. All women everywhere deal with issues. Most likely, if you can show that you’re an empathetic guy who is perceptive to women’s issues, have a good job, and are fairly attractive yourself, you can do well.
>>
>>51329054
what if he gets hired to be on tv and makes nips laugh though? would they still kick him out? also would a poor person be able to just overstay their tourist visa under the radar if they were smart? do they have ice in japan?
>>
>>51329065
Being a TV personality is a legitimate job so no, he'd get to stay as long as he does all his paperwork and what not.
>also would a poor person be able to just overstay their tourist visa under the radar if they were smart?
Plenty of people already do that, but I don't think he wants to be placed in the same category as Indians or Africans. Also he wouldn't be able to find gainful employment if he does that.

>>
>>51328147
I find that it's impossible for 99% of Westerners because of differing spiritual beliefs. Even a lot of other Asians can't really integrate well into Japan.
>>
>>51328354
The original is better. Is it not strange that I and one who sat opposite side of blue pastel type mongolian image board start fighting. It is cool that situation I will kill him or I will be killed by him. Girls and kids should keep away.

If you’re reborn as jp you’re probably going to be brainwashed easily by right wing slop and go on anti-foreigner tirades on yahoo news

And if you’re reborn as a jp woman? God bless you
>>
>>51328216
The problem is that what you want is highly unrealistic. You can stay temporarily under a working holiday visa, student visa, or potentially even a marriage visa. But permanent residency is a pipe dream for many current immigrants. It takes a certain personality to *want* to stay there permanently.
>>
>>51329301
>brainwashed

Foreigners have only caused problems in Japan and elsewhere
