I guess I get to start the thread with a massive photo dump. I got very into my Halloween photos this year, so there's 18 of them, as each girl other than Merida got three pics each. Starting with Nina as a Martian Girl

>>51337976last onethe theme this year was Homemade, I wanted to do a bunch of Halloween crafts and tied their costumes into them. It was a lot of fun. Sorry for the flood!
>>51337979damn it, forgot photo
>>51337979Don't apologize, these are all amazing! You really went all-out this year anon, amazing work! >>51337934Might be my favorite, the colors are superb. The tiny pie-tin UFOs are so cute. But every single one of these pops. Thank you for always sharing!
>>51337991Thank you! It was a lot of work, but I has so much fun doing all these. >pie-tin UFOsThose should've been the easiest ones to make, but each one had a VERY effective non-stick surface, no glue would hold! I eventually gave up and actually hand sewed the bigger ones together! Also, I agree with you, it's one of my top pics of this batch.
>>51334866>>51335346>>51335670Thank you!!I had a lot of fun with the decor and I might decide keep the dark gothic theme for awhile longer! So there will be more pics with this set up.>>51336023ditto>>51336682Very cute! I thought of making potions and other stuff using pour acrylics and mini bottles from hobby lobby. But, I got busy with other things had to put that off til another time.>>51337952>>51337953>>51337966Very cute!I like the B&W horror and the retro disco vibes!
>>51338077Thanks! I was worried the black and white ones wouldn't pop as much as the colorful ones. I was so happy with the results. Pic is the Ted Turner colorized edition. lolI've really been enjoying your pictures too, the decorations for those panels of yours has been great.
>>51338360Anon, do you mind if I ask what your lighting setup is like?
>>51338502Absolutely, I'm happy to share. I'll respond tomorrow afternoon with more info and maybe a pic if I have any of them around.
>>51338502>>51338637OK, I don't have any photos of my setup, but I drew a quick diagram of how I normally lay them out. For equipment, I have two photography lightboxes on tall tripods with rgb/adjustable white bulbs inside, and four satellite small LED panels from SmallRig that do RGB and adjustable white levels. Two are overhead to act as key and background lights, and two are usually on tripods so I can move them to light the scene as needed. I often skip some of the smaller lights, depending on the scene, especially if I'm doing mostly closeups, as they're not needed for that.
Bought three blindbox dolls at once and the third and final one has arrived. I've already started talking to her like she can hear me. It's over, isn't it?>>51328468Love Nikki is what got me out of spending money on gacha. Those damn fashion games sure are good at it. At least with vrchat avatars, I can still use them even if vrchat itself shuts down since they're fbx files that I have on my own damn computer.>>51328923Arguably it's this one. First presentable photo at least.
>>51328923The first photo of my first Doll. It’s been 11 years.
>>51341524Very cute! But I understand, sometimes, its almost like a collecting addiction!>>51341862Cute!>2015I think I've been collecting for about that long too.
>>51341524>I've already started talking to her like she can hear me. It's over, isn't it?To the contrary, it's only just begun.
>>51337974>>51337976>>51337980My love, Samus!
hey guys, i bought an azone 1/6th doll but her legs came stained from her outfit, are melamine sponges really a safe way to help remove the staining?
>>51343355Melamine sponges are a gentle form of sanding, and can work. But you can also try using Benzoyl Peroxide (acne) cream as a stain remover. Who'd you pick up?
>>51343394i only have 4 percent benzyl peroxide acne cream, will that work? the doll i got is Makoto Kowata from flying witch.
>>51343406More slowly, but it will help (also just give the body a wash with just regular soap to see if any comes off the surface.) Then apply a layer of benzoyl peroxide to the affected areas and wrap them in cling film (saran wrap) to keep it from drying out. It will take time, but the stains will improve and, hopefully, disappear.
I have an exceptionally old doll who's body cannot be replaced (picrel,) and her feet keep coming off because of gravity. What's the best way to improve the friction of her joint-pegs or otherwise overcome this? Gonna order some clear nail polish to try with, but this body is so old I think I might need something more than that. (Lost Angel's Story Sanjie, basically an ancient DD2.)
>>51345151You're already doing what conventional doll wisdom would suggest, just add 1 coat to start and more coats until the joints grip again. Beyond that, if it doesn't work, there are some facebook groups that specialize in older doll parts/broken doll repair (Doll Rescue Group comes to mind) and I know some people have 3D printed replacement parts for older dolls. Also, check Yahoo auctions and booth for custom made substitute parts, I see a lot of them on there for older dolls. Good luck anon.
>>51345151Clear nail polish layers, let dry completely, to tighten joints and pegs.If the internal female end cracks or breaks, then use JB Weld original to repair.
