Calls and text are completely fine for 90% of my communications. For the few people that I only contact through discord, i have it sideloaded. lt's decently slow, but it works fine for when I'm away from my computer.

You can buy a phone case with the hole. I got a cheap android phone and it came with a transparent case and the case had the hole and I had to buy a frog charm from aliexpress
