Unlike other 2hus who are just vaguely alluded to being their inspiration, Kaguya is quite literally Princess Kaguya from the eponymous folktale itself. The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter is pretty much the direct backstory of 2hu Kaguya.And her giving away an Elixir of Immortality to the Emperor also happened in the 2hu universe (the dosage intended for the Emperor is the one Mokou eventually murderhobo'd into getting). A more romantic (and admittedly more modern) reading of this part of the story asserts that Princess Kaguya gave the Emperor the Elixir so that he would get an Eternity to chase after her. After all, unlike her other suitors, Princess Kaguya was actually fond of the Emperor. And what only stopped her from reciprocating the Emperor's affection was the difference in their stations in life. Her giving him an Elixir was the means to close that difference. She didn't care how he did it. She just wanted him to do it. And she quite literally gave him an eternity to do so. But of course, we all know how the folktale went. But still, the whole I WANT YOU TO BE WITH ME FOREVER angle is baked into her actual backstory, and that makes delicous yanhu material.On a more yurifag leaning tangent, this kind of reading does make her relationship with Mokou more funny. So Mokou chugged down the Elixir Kaguya intended for her Emperor Husubando. Is her hateboner and bloodlust for Mokou her projecting her disappointment with the Emperor for not picking up the goddamn hint? Is she just using Mokou as a substitute for unleashing her yanhu psycho rage intended for the Emperor?
