Got the 0-45-90 ARC V2 installed, it's pretty great man

I got my XPRT-90 and sear pin can't actually fit through the spring and both sides of the actuator. It's weird because I can fit two pin through both sides at once but not one through both at the same time. No wonder they did a soft recall. I probably could've just removed a little material and it would've fit but then they probably would tell me to go fuck myself it there's something wrong with it. I ended up just sending the entire FRT kit and trigger group into them so they can fit and assemble it because I don't want to wait a whole week to get the part back and find out there's another problem. And well the sear spring in the back kinda got knocked out of place as I was removing the actuator... well they literally make P90 trigger parts for a living so that shouldn't be a problem

Whole thing's just kind of a nightmare. They really should've just been making the entire triggerpack with the part already installed and selling that

It fits if you wiggle the disconnect block and spring around to guide the pin, but inside faces of the actuator drag on either side of the spring and gives an extremely heavy trigger pull in FRT. All these guns having OOB issues were conversions of open bolt F/A designs to closed bolt semi auto. This is also probably going to be somewhat of a problem with some of the closed bolt belt fed conversions if you've been noticing both the M249 and MG42 conversions with Prototype FRT's have abysmally low RoF, yet the closed bolt as designed HK21/23 with ARHK is near its normal F/A RoF

Reporting back: Ran three mags through it. For me the trigger is pretty meh. While in FRT mode it rips no problem, going back and forth between FRT and Semi leads to some weird trigger stagging issues and what feels like 12lb trigger pulls. Nope. It was just me and two others at the range so I guess either the clubhouse guy didn't care or my suppressor/sub plan worked. I didn't do a full mag dump but strings of 5 or 6 round bursts just to not be completely obvious either. Can't wait till my Rugged Sub9 gets approved and makes it even quieter. All I could hear behind the trigger was the bolt carrier and rounds hitting the berm behind the paper target.

In regards to the trigger I'm thinking me switching positions might have rocked the pack in the trigger housing causing the trip to not make full contact causing a dead trigger until I pulled the pack into the right position via the trigger. I'm using a legit HK trigger housing which RareGreed says their pack is loose in because MKE housings are out of spec in comparison and they designed their pack to fit and work in both. So I'll have to make some shims and see if that solves it in the future.

Twenty years ago century decided to headspace cetmes by grinding down the bolt face instead of changing out rollers. Needless to say they'd have all sorts of issues besides constantly expanding headspace with the softened bolt face. Those used to be the only cetmes available for about ten years before century decided to send cetmes (c308) to be built by ptr instead. Those were fine as it was precovid ptr. Post move and post covid ptr has been hit or miss from what I've seen posted of qc issues

So currently you can make the current AK FRT 3 position, but the reliability of it is kinda hit or miss from my understanding.

No other solution has been released. There several groups that are working on it which includes Texas Triggers, Plinkify and kalashtriggers which is called the MAKGA TRIGGER, cringe name but what can you do. kalashtriggers does have a lot of footage showing the FRT in action and it doesnt require any FA parts like the current solution. kalashtriggers currently have a wait list on their site for notice of a release and they are active on reddit as WolverineGlum6529

I'm personally waiting on the kalashtriggers version as it'll probably release soon.

it works, the biggest issue is has is the strength of the lever. The lever is known to snap.

There are clones of the Atrius, one notable called the cornfire which works the same way but the lever is a bit thicker and made out of S7 tool steel.

If you have 200 dollars, I would honestly get the ARC fire as it is very robust and comes with a trigger. You can also get the ARC V1, I've seen them on sale for about ~$150 also comes with a cut trigger.

Got my batch 1 actuator back from FN specialities after their inspection and "precision adjustment". Seems it consisted of hogging out the interior surfaces with a dremel and slathering it in grease.
I understand it's just an internal component but for $450+ and getting doxxed by their CS email, I'm pretty disappointed.
Probably could have done a better job myself, and they could have at least used some alumablack on the bare surfaces.

MKE has fixed the early problems. You can see the changes on their newer guns. And by newer, I mean last couple years.
Most of the issues were related to the semi-auto conversion work they did to their normal military/police production. Keep in mind that these were full-auto guns that they had to modify for the US market. They're good guns, just needed some tweaking. MKE has been manufacturing the MP5 since the early 80s.

If you decide to get an AP5, order it from a big online retailer. They keep replenishing their stocks from newly imported guns. The guns usually run out of stock after a couple months.

Redacted arms AKSS has been working great in my SAR-1. Only fitting needed was widening the cam hole for the selector, minor break in, has a steel pin retainer, adding a Texas Triggers recoil buffer stops the bolt from hanging up completely and increases rate of fire a bit. I too am building an M16A1 and in the process of looking for an FRT. The only thing I don't like about the AZ reg is the color. It's too black for A1 builds. So far happy with my AZR in an M16A2 build, so far has run incredibly well without fail using blanks and M193 spec ammo, didn't require any fitting. The sear(?) that sticks up to interface with the tail of the bolt carrier has a barely noticeable gouge on one edge of the sear. I put an ARC v1 into an 11.5" and I needed an H3 buffer to make it run right. Carbine buffer would reset and run in semi but not in ARC. It does happen, or else every FRT merchant wouldn't have big FAQs about weight tuning.
Fwiw, I've also had success with an H2 buffer and a Geissele Super 42 spring on the same 11.5" upper.

The outer lever on original HK selectors was stamped and pinned to the rest of it, that's a "manufacturing realities of modern America" issue. No FRT mfg is at the scale where stamping equipment would be a worthwhile investment over milling parts and using screws. C'est la vie. They could mill ones that are closer, but then you'd still have to solve the assembly redesign because HK safeties aren't meant to come out or be tuned like FRTs need to be.

Ain't that the truth, I paid $50 for an H3 after abusing Brownells coupons to get that price, and they're all $75+ anywhere I see them now.
It won't get better until some company settles on a cheaper material. KAK said they were working on that front a few months ago, I figure that BCG is part of their effort. Weight in the BCG to make the buffer weight less essential seems like a logical first step.

This might have already been talked about in previous threads. What would be people thoughts on a firearm that has a forced reset system built into the design? like a Sten type design thats simple and cheap but gets the job done. its hard to gauge people desire for such designs, since forced reset can fit in popular platforms like the AR's and such. I'm mostly aiming at the pistol and PCC areas of FRT's, the offerings seem lackluster or they can get expensive like the MP5. If the price on a new weapon is good enough would it be worth it?
