Messy Bench Edition, i guess.

I still need dies and bullets for .380, but i wanna do it bad enough i knocked the primers out with a punch and hammer.

Got 70ish of those tumbling with a few 45acps, a couple 22-250s and the odd fuddy ought sex.

The pint sized camp stove was used to heat my water, worked great for the one barrel im using. A spritz or 2 of purple power is my cleaner, ill get a pic when theyre done

I haven't used Long Shot before, but that sounds like a lot.

+p max is 9.0 grains
Per GRT I'm at 29k PSI for .45 Super out of a 6" barrel, which is reasonable. I've had loads exceeding 33k PSI. Allegedly Supers can go toe to toe w/ Rowlands but I'm not going crazy with these.

in short barrels, they might get close, but they actually overtake Rowland in rifle barrels according to bbti. makes me consider a .45 acp for a subsonic deer gun

And here they are: about an hour in the tumbler, another 40 ish in the oven @200°, a few more for cooling... Ready to size, trim then dry tumble for that new car smell.

Thoughts on 3d printed sabot? Currently have some in .452 that seat a 4.6mm 38 gn varmint round.. also have some that seat .224 diameter bullets, both 36gn and 50 gn. Experimenting with solid sabots vs cutouts to match the 50bmg slap sabot jackets, and print settings shooting for a solid base with hollow “petals”

Cross section of petals vs solid base. Gonna try some in .38, .40 and .308 as well. Wanna vary the grain weights.

Gonna gas check them, have a 7 inch x frame in 460 to run them through so I can load from light 45lc up to holy shit 460 levels of powder. Any advice/experience/thoughts on what to try? Would like to see if it’s possible to work up some kind of kludge formula to determine stability based on bc/ spin rate, and estimated velocity… as well as get an idea of what the sabots need to cleanly release

50 bmg slap sabot for comparison.

Handloading ammo is man's way of coping. Coping that he can't birth children.
But to be fair, the ammunition children he does produce is beautiful.

Loading 9 on a single stage kinda sucks but it works.

124grn Plated HP over 6.6grn of HS6.

Got babbys first lube pad today, holy shit. Shoulda got one ages ago

Single stage gets tedious when doing lots.

I like it a lot more than the spray. It's easier to get an even coating and it lasts for bloody ever. Just be careful because a little goes a long way. The downside is that it is slower and you get your hands pretty nasty if you process a lot of brass without wearing gloves.

Am I in the minority for just liking the LEE sizing compound? Granted it does dry out if left to the elements, But by the time i'm sizing cases i've already run them through a tumbler and ultrasonic and just want to wipe them off
>>
>>65133145
Lee grease is good but newer lots smell like fish. Idk what they did there.
>>
Is reloading coming back because of pricing?
>>
>>65133469
I've always reloaded even when ammo was cheaper.
