Gun Show Edition

Post the gats you somehow managed to get from a gun show.

Recent News: Lots of AK parts kits coming in with barrels thanks to the ATF ruling. Lebanese FAL kits are also still in stock.

My 1886 Lebel. The only one ive ever seen at a show and havent seen one since. Jumped on it immediately, 0 ragrets

is that 1897 a take down model? I picked up a 1912 that’s a take down model with the same barrel length as yours and I’ve been trying to figure out what exactly the fuck it’s history us

This was three years ago, but I bought this Kropatschek for $450, asking price was $500. 10% off isn't terrible negotiation

Pic related was like $200 4 or 5 years back. Missing the magazine. Bought a magazine for $120 from a Polish (I think) online store and crossed my fingers and hoped it would arrive, and it actually did. Nice shooting rifle. More accurate than my K31 and I think it’s more pleasant to shoot.
>>
>>65163522
I actually prefer the 96/11 and 11 mechanism over the K31. The K31 is kind of a fat gun

I finally had time to test the Canadian 303 British ammo that gunmagwarehouse is selling. I thought it was the same stuff Century has right now, but this stuff is Mk 7z ammo, so it has smokeless powder in it instead of spaghetti.

I bought 2 boxes. The ammo in both boxes didn’t have any corrosion, all the ammo looked good. I tested 20 rounds from each box and all 40 rounds went off without a hitch. It seems about as accurate as I could shoot it. None of the cases had split necks so I can get at least 1 reload out of them. I treated this as corrosive so I cleaned my rifles after my range trip. If it was like 50 cents per round I’d probably buy quite a bit of it, but since it’s around 75 cpr with shipping, I’ll probably buy a few boxes just to have it.

It's dumb, cropping the pic even just .00000005 percent allows it to post the correct orientation, I don't understand why it's like that.

How much of a deal is a 1910 Luger for $1900, great condition with two extra mags and holster? I see they're around 4k+ on gunbroker, but that shit is mostly fudds who know that they got.

Don’t know if it’s on topic but I picked up a sporterized Spanish Mauser this year. This is the closest I’ll ever get to a cute latina.

DWM, 9mm, Imperial Army markings. I said fuck it and bought it because I always wanted one.

That's pretty much the real reason we do this, isn't it? Counterpoint, I have fucked myself by saying

>>
>>65163586
I intend to pick up some deer with it, I’m new to guns and hunting but I’m pretty sure anything the 30-06 can pick up (records for both deer and bear) the 7x57 Mauser can do the same. If 30-06 is Donkey Kong, 7mm Mauser is Cranky Kong.
>>
I met a nice kid with a 1917 Lee Enfield at the range and he wanted to take a look at my K98-k. I didn't realize he had it until he came up to me after the range closed. Anyway, it's pretty neat to see young people enjoying old guns.
>>
>>65163595
>7x57 Mauser
7x57 and 9.3x62 will last you your whole life and never leave you wanting for more. You could even go down to 9.3x57 and be happy in North America. I personally think that exiting the far side and killing the tree behind your animal isn't helping anything. I would want the bullet to stop just under the skinnon the far side, with all energy transferred in terminal ballistics. Not carrying through and leaving the rest in a tree. But everyone has an opinion.

I was kind of thinking about a 9.3x62 as a bear gun, my state is demcucked but I do believe black bears are enough of a problem that they’ll open up a season for them in the next five to ten. It also would work and be available in Africa if I ever win the lottery and felt like taking on Cape Buffalo.

Of course it's on topic. And the latina gals that were born in the US, they don't have the incredibly strict racial loyalty the immigrants have.

>Post the gats you somehow managed to get from a gun show.
I've only ever bought one gat at a gun show and it was a first year USP in 9mm. As for surp, I think I won a matching K98k today, still waiting to receive my invoice for it.
>>
>>65163607
>9.3x62
Great cartridge.
Incredibly underrated in the US for some reason.
Side note: Some US-made 9.3x62 ammo is based on necked-up .30-06 cases and have an undersized rim, that can allegedly cause extraction issues, but It's not something I've personally encountered.
If you're using a kar98-based rifle with a fucknormous Mauser claw extractor, you're highly unlikely to encounter this issue.
>>
>>65163983
I thought a necked up 30-06 with a bigger bullet was called a 35 wehlen

Honestly, and maybe I'm projecting here, but those numbers together look weird and puts me off. Even though I recognize and respect it.

Forgive the non-milsurp guns, this is my only picture and it’s a family picture.

Got my first milsurp at a gun show- an Arisaka type 38.
Funny back story to how I got it
>take Chinese gf hunting for pheasants
>she thinks it’ll be funny to whip me with a stick across my ass
>turn around and whip her with the stick and scream at her
>she says it was the scariest she has ever seen my face and knew she fucked up. Apologized profusely
>bag out early, leave for gun show
>man has a set up, she spots the type 38 on display and knows exactly what it was from Chinese dramas she watched as a child
>boomer is impressed she knows what it is, offers her a great deal, throws in bayonet for free
>she gives me the money to buy it, circa 2016 so prices weren’t outrageous yet
>we go to a range where she empties a box of ammo, declares it her favorite gun, and asks me to never get rid of her gun.
>her time in America is up and she leaves. Haven’t seen her since, but I still have her gun.
>>

I am disappointed I didn't try for the straight Austrian conversion that came up for auction the other day. Went for only $400. It wasn't given to the Bulgarians and still retained it's unique sight hood.

>Gun Show Edition

Funny enough, I just bought a type 99 from my local gun show, thought it was sold but when I saw it was still there and asked to checked the bore I just had to get it. I asked the seller if he had some wiggle room on the price, offered $500, but didn't want to go that low especially with the bore was, so he told me he would do $550 (he was selling it for $585) and bought it

Looks like a nice 20th series. Kokura installed their sling swivels upside down for most of the 20th series. Very distinctive. Probably a little high on the price, but it's probably okay with at least the muzzle over, which you should totally not store locked on the muzzle as the plastic will deform under pressure.

I've got like 60 type 99s and I can tell you I've never seen one that didn't have at least a very good bore. Most are mint as no Type 99s would have had long service lives.

When I was told they're using chrome lined barrels I was surprised, I didn't think they would be using it their barrels. Thanks for the heads up on the muzzle cover, already took it off. I was wo dering what series it was but the stmp is kind of hard to see a bit, I did wanted to get it a bit lower but he was a bit firm on the price so not too bad I guess. It's only my second Japanese rifle, it's next to my Type 38.

No Mum and no AA ladder sights
>>
>>65165826
>no mum or AA sights
thats ok, you didn't get ripped off or anything but those points are a good spot to beat someone up on the price a little. With shipping, FFL and all the other misc costs, $550 is what most people would probably end up paying online for a gun like that anyway.

The type 99 was the first mass produced military rifle with a chrome lined bore so its an expectation, not a selling point for it to be in good condition. Your rifle looks fine and I have seen people take way worse deals on jap surp so overall its perfectly admirable pickup

Finally found one for a good price online that wasn't a last ditch model, can't wait for it to get here. That aside, anyone know of a good way to blank adapt an SMLE in a non permanent way? I have an Ishapore 2A that I want to use those super cheap German surplus blanks in at an airshit milsim event, but I need a way to make sure hot gas isn't venting out the barrel totally unobstructed along with potential debris.
