If you were dead set on covering it probably some homebrew methods justasgood? Can burns suck that much I know, but any time that or barrel burn happened I felt dryfiring and shit might've mitigated it; build them neural pathways so you don't have to do pesky things like thinking in a pickle fight, y'know?

I took the JUSTASGOOD-K1 out when I got home yesterday evening, put a quick 50 yard zero on it. Initial groups at close range trend decent enough, ~1.5 MOA with 175 SMK (FGMM). Put a few mags of M80 through it for a down and dirty function check, no issues there. Will advise once I can find some time to stretch its legs out to 600+. If it can hold 2 MOA without hucking flyers every 4 shots, I'll consider it a worthwhile addition. TBD.

For what it's worth, it's by far the most well put together example I've ever had from Palmetto. I usually expect shoddy fit and questionable finish. Seems they put their competent folks on the Sabre assembly line...that or I won the PSA lottery. Took the BCG apart and it's surprisingly decent, down to the bolt. Trigger is an objectively good 2-stage. Radian charging handle is fine. Adjustable gas block seems to be functioning fine and did not have any issues unsupressed on settings 10-12. Their variable length 3-prong effectively kills the tuning fork effect.

Consider me impressed so far. Still plenty of opportunity for it to disappoint once I get into higher volume and longer distances.

>>
>>65171614
I respect that, I have my own weird gun interests like open gym so no judgment. Considering you're going for AR-15 Service Rifle I think the cloner community might actually be really helpful. Another good idea is to try and find a mentor in the sport. If I had to find one without any other leads I'd probably buy some cloner shit off tacswap and strike up a convo with the guy to see if he knows anybody or clubs heavy into it. You don't have to own the gun/shoot in a match just to hang out and cut it up with the shooters.

Hate to say it, but AI is the next best thing. It won't be able to give you all the personal experiences and insights an avid NRA/CMP shooter can, but it is surprisingly capable at things like say filtering barrel options based on NRA/CMP requirements (random example I haven't tried)

>>65171535
>poor pauper
Shifting though the forums myself a few years back the most common for "I want to be competitive but not spend a shitload" comes to, with some own opinion.

>white oak armament stainless barrel
They are held as best bang for the price for cmp comp shooting. Be warned you probably will need to use a clamp gas block. They slightly oversize the gas hole area for tighter fit. It's that or freeze the barrel/heat the block to get it on.
>black hills 77gr otm
Is said to be the best ammo for that barrel, but is a good round overall. This is for off the shelf if you don't go full autism of casting your chamber and ladder load testing to get the EXACT round for your EXACT rifle.
>bcm stripped upper
This due to it being a thermal install upper. They purposefully slightly undersized the barrel hole for a tight fit. It gives you the shimmed barrel results without fucking around with swimming the barrel.
>trigger
geissele is the rage but larue is good too.

The rest is flavor to taste while being within the rules and not cheapest shit you can find. For CMP you'll need a bad lever but it can cause issues. On my original comp gun I needed to drop from a H2 to H1 buffer as the bad lever was causing LRBHO issues. The optic is going to hurt, all the good budget allowed optics tend to go out of production.

nta also not a rocket surgeon but I think about this a lot and it just feels wrong. The AR-15 was not designed that way afaik, and there is more than enough force clamping the barrel to the receiver from even the weakest barrel nut. thermal fit always seemed like a recipe for the barrel to seat off kilter if not driven firmly into the receiver. I've seen these tolerances range from freeze barrel/heat receiver to literally having to torch the receiver until it's practically glowing then smack the barrel in with a mallet.

Gen2 Pig can close down to 1.375" vs 1.5" for the hog. I don't think my rail is particularly thin but do you think this would solve that issue? I don't mind the 5oz penalty since it's a steel body vs aluminum.
>edit unfortunately the listing is for a gen one which only closes down to 1.55" and weighs more
>still don't mind the weight but my rail is literally right on the edge for that width

He came out of nowhere, refuses to debate against the magpul PRS yet I'm expected to believe this is a fair poll? Make it make sense.

This thing is downright grotesque, I've seen chinknesium airsoft stocks at the boomer gun show table that look better than this turd.

Anon you made it so we can't see the results anymore. It doesn't matter though because both of those stocks get mogged by the lmt one.

The LMT SOPMOD? Objectively worse than the B5 from my experience. For whatever reason, LMT has a love for free-spinning QD sockets which are an absolute thorn in the balls. Beyond that, the difference in material is negligible. That's without consideration for the fucktarded price LMT demands for their half-assed excuse for a stock.
>t. Traded off every LMT SOPMOD stock I've ever owned in very short order

Do you guys vote in polls even if you have no experience with the item?

Got an idea for a somewhat exotic control setup.
>standard VFG
>small rounded finger stop (picrel) mounted at 9:00
The idea is to get all 4 fingers of the support hand on the natural angle of the VFG while wrapping the thumb over the finger stop, providing a simultaneous push force and a thumb-over-bore effect with a much harder lock on the grip around the handguard.

Anybody tried something like this or seen anything like it?
>>
>>65172455
>>65172494
Excuse my retardation, my hatred for LMT's SOPMOD took over. I missed the whole "precision" part of the discussion. I would concur that LMT's DMR stock is pretty great.

I went and tested some muzzle devices at night. I used a L3 UFWP PVS14 for image intensification. Distance was at 100 yards, muzzle oriented 10 feet to the stage left of the PVS14 recording device, zoomed to 2x.

I used an 11.5" KS3, equipped with a 3-prong FH. I used IMI M193 ammunition. Below are freeze-frames of the first rounds fired through each muzzle device.
First the KAC CRS-3, second the KAC QDC 556 (Legacy baffle suppressor), third the KAC MCQ-2, and lastly the bare 3 prong.
The video will be up on my channel tomorrow.

From the shooter's stand-point, the CRS3 did the best, followed by the MCQ2 and bare muzzle device, lastly the QDC. This is born out from the down-range perspective. Further, the CRS3 and QDC556, even though similar in size and weight, had very different recoil characteristics, with the QDC being much snappier and harder recoiling. KAC really has cracked the code on total signature reduction with their CRS and MCQ line. That fancy tech they talk about on YouTube actually does exactly what they claim, as you can see.

*Limitations: This was filmed at only 60fps, and frame-by-frame gone through to select the brightest images from all configurations. Filming at such low speeds allows for discrepancy.
