I know that a small number were built in Mexico, but that was only because Mexico already had a G3 plant and got a giant shipment of 7.62x39 among other arms after Russia couldn't pay off a debt they owed in cash in the 90s. And it seems like they only used them for a short time for some law enforcement units before ordering Galils to use up the ammo instead.
