https://x.com/palmettoarmory/status/2057189620727808160>tease it for over a year>have DSA tool up for T48-specific parts>limited batch onlyMight as well just fucking cancel it at this point, nobody outside of scalpers is going to be able to get them.
It's far too small of a product to make full-time.There simply is no reason to standup a hot production line to continually pump these out.You make 1000-5000, MAYBE 10,000. And then sell them for the next decade and when they're gone they're gone.
>>65172848Can we knock it the fuck off with this limited batch/ run horseshit please? I know those niggers can make more and yet cap the supply for no good fucking reason>uh it's to make them collectableWhich benefits the company that makes them how exactly?>uh actually it's a way to see if the guns sell well enough to bring them into full productionFirst of all, the fuck that's happening with an obscure variant of the FAL. Second, why the fuck are you setting up tooling for a gun you're unsure will actually sell? What kind of dumb vanta black nigger thinks to buy a kitchen to sell his cupcakes without seeing if anyone really wants to buy cupcakes?
>>65172863>cap the supply for no good fucking reasonPrice gouging and fomo marketing
>>65172867>>65172863I don't think you people have any understanding of manufacturing scale required to bring prices down signficantly, and the cost to actually run a production line for any period of time. The only way to justify a continual production line to bring down costs is massive demand, which this product doesn't have. > This company should bankrupt themselves to satisfy my personal desire for neat guns that no one else wants. That's pretty much what you sound like.
>>65172855this is literally the holy grail of FAL variants for most people, there's a market here that they vastly underestimate.>>65172863I could actually see this selling well if it wasn't limited, but since it IS limited there's several issues it introduces>prices are going to be inflated to shit>the tooling for T48-specific parts isn't gonna be paid off>the few people outside of scalpers who do get them won't shoot it out of fear of a part they can't get a replacement for breaking>>65172871DSA is making these for PSA under contract, they already have a full production line. DSA already dabbles in making obscure FAL variants and they sell decently well.
>>65172848They should try 3d metal printing for special shit like this instead of going through the effort of tooling shit.
>>65172878>this is literally the holy grail of FAL variants for most peopleYeah, because it was unobtanium, do you REALLY think there is some hidden market of FAL-clone wannabe owners who simply held off for a T48 clone and NOW is their moment? It was the holy grail when it was absurdly rare, a reproduction that anyone can buy, even if a collector's FOMO item, simply won't have the same "holy grail" status.
>>65172892The people who want it won't be able to get it because scalpers are niggers, that's kind of the whole problem with this limited batch production shit
>>65172878>DSA is making these for PSA under contract, they already have a full production line. DSA already dabbles in making obscure FAL variants and they sell decently well.Yeah and the reason DSA has a full production line is because they make standard parts, which the T48 doesn't use.Which means DSA has to specifically modify the production line for a run of T48s, they can't leave the production line in that state because they need to making their regular FAL parts, not specific T48 parts.H&R/PSA are paying DSA to do a single production run of T48s, and then DSA will go back to making their regular FAL parts. If the demand is MASSIVE, they could always do a 2nd production run in a year or two, but DSA simply has no reason to convert their existing FAL production to shit out T48s at scale when they have other production contracts to work on.
>>65172848>Meme battle rifle in 1956+70Grim, I wish PSA focused on making ARs that arent pot metal goyslop
The ones I've seen pictures of have the wrong lower and stock. T48s all had early Type A receivers with a step at the rear that the stock slides over. These guns all have Type B lowers and stocks, probably because they're much simpler to make and DSA is nothing if not a bunch of lazy, shiftless niggers.
>>65172917I mean, they're already going to struggle to make money by taking these cheap choices, do you think ANYONE would buy a better clone at $5k?
>>65172848>308>In 1999+27dead in the streets desu
>>65173096I mean, original T48s did use parkerizing, which would be more grey then deep inky black.
>>65173101
>>65172848DSA can't make in spec parts to save their lives, my hopes for the quality of this rifle are near 0. The worst part is that they know there are issues but they just dont bother fix them
>>65173104Here is a real one up close.
>>65173108Their whole reputation was built on assembling practically brand new milsurp parts on receivers made by LMT. Once the parts dried up and they switched to in-house receiver production it all went straight down the toilet. FFS they have the actual tooling and technical drawings from Steyr and yet, to this day, they cannot make a functional FAL magazine. How incompetent can you get?
If anybody is friends with the shitfuck who was arguing on YouTube that DSA is an unknown niche company and that the ONLY way avaliable to get a FAL is to have a parts kit built by a smith then do us all a favor amd punch him in the fucking throat.
>>65172848G1 is best FAL
>>65173101Parkerizing on FALs is a mistake. I have a 1971 Australian L1A1 from before they went to the Brit-style thick paint and it scratches and rusts by the power of thought alone
>>65172848>>65172917>FAL with the ability to topload from a clipJust get a C1, the rear sights are better anyways.
>>65173335these are metric pattern. Also, the appeal is to have what many people think should've won the m14 trials
>>65173146I would take a kit gun built by gunplumber or another well known smith over any turd DSA shits out.
