Are there any valid reasons to buy a brand new high-end .22 target pistol, instead of spending half the money for an older 2nd-hand model?
Unless of course the model you're interested in is too new to be available used.
These things generally last like >50,000 rounds before wearing out, right?
>>
>>65173964
People like high end things so high end guns exist, 2nd hand guns are like 2nd hand cars, unless it’s super rare it immediately loses value as soon as it was used. So they’re great deals.
>>
>>65173964
I think you'd have to exceed the cost of the gun in ammo by at least one order of magnitude to wear out a good .22.

Really more about the user's care and cleaning methods than round count

I always buy my 'nice things' second hand because that premium gets you basically nothing.

I would hope someone with a 4k target pistol would take care of it but I've seen million dollar rotators absolutely trashed and abused so there's that.

Realistically speaking, 99% of pistols like this will just be shot at ranges for bullseye practice.

They're not the kind of guns that get beaten around and dragged through mud and gravel.
And they're not the kind of guns that get carried in a holster as a service pistol for years, getting coated in dust, lint, and flop sweat.
It's a 22, so it's not liable to be blown up by Bubba's handloads, or bulge the barrel if it squibs.
And even if the owner never cleans it and just shoots and shoots until it stops working, a good cleaning should restore the pistol to good working order.
The only probable way I can see for a gun like this to be damaged from improper maintenance would be if the owner lets it rust, in which case the damage would most likely be plainly visible on the outside.

Bought a Star 30M for $200, how fucked am I?

Also wasn't there someone mentioning buying all the obscure wonder 9s? These things are a steal.
>>
>>65174111
for 200 bucks? sounds like you basically stole it. Good find.

These are legit good pistols.
Not really anything wrong with them.

Precisely, GWG [girls with guns] has always been board culture but don't expect FNG's and melanin afflicted sodomites like >>65174051 to understand such an ordinary concept

Nice to see those steel magazines are in demand because it means the dip wads with Ruger RXM's, PSA Daggers or out of spec pistol frames failed to poison the Mec-Gar well

If you have to do this insane prolongation can you at least wait until 1775 instead so it doesn't give me an aneurysm when we have to snap back to reality for "1777" aka 1814

>>65173964
I don't think so. You can get a HECK of a target gun for $700 in the Walther GSP, High Standard 106/107, Hammerli 208 or otherwise. The kind of gun that, unless you're practicing with 15-20cpr ammo every 4 days, you can't outgrow. Heck even a Ruger Mark barrel is extremely difficult to outpace once the trigger's dealt with. I also do not think you could shoot out a .22 barrel. The trigger (sear/hammer engagement) may suffer from such extreme round count, springs will certainly be replaced multiple times, but unless the slide is losing dimension from peening and changes headspace or something I don't think these guns wear out

I can't tell you how much I want a CSP, but it's just a new production X-Esse and frankly cannot justify its $1,600 base price. But for the price at LEAST it has an optic rail on 2 of the 3 specs

>Dodge Charger of pistols?
Any P320 variant.
Also any vastly overpriced "tactical" 2011 shilled by beard-oil guntubers
>>
>>65174214
All 2011s are vastly overpriced.
>>
>>65174111
I got one for $179 like 7 months ago and have no regrets at all. Oddly enough, mine also has an identical circular spot missing the finish in the exact same spot as yours

>my 3k 2011 is the best pistol ever!
>I just had to hand fit all the parts to make it work reliably
>and need to run very specific ammo
>and adding accessories requires more adjustments
>but it's way better than a Glock or Beretta that just works out of box!
I have never seen more cope than what comes out of the mouth of people that buy high end 2011s.
>>
>>65174317
Said no one ever. Post your gun.
>>
>>65174317
>after spending just $5,000 on my $3,000 kimberson suckatto, it kind-of works...
For that amount of cash they could have bought a brand new Korth, Pardini, or a Manurhin. Those guns actually are of exceptionally high quality and already hand fitted by expert gunsmiths before they ever leave the factories.
Or one of the old but extremely well made 9mm target pistols made by Benelli, Walther, or SIG Switzerland. Hell, even S&W and Colt made a few handguns of the similar quality back in the day.

As far as I can tell, the vast majority of 2011s are just overhyped, poorly manufactured, meme guns.
Badly made scam items, heavily shilled by unscrupulous individuals for the sole purpose of parting easily influenced fools from their money.
>>
>>65174317
>3k
Are you poor? Real 2011s cost 7 grand at minimum

Newfriend looking for a good CCW. Looking at a Glock 43x, can anybody recommend it? Going by the buyer's guide it looks like 9mm is what I'm looking for.

Yes, a 43x would be terrific carry piece. If it's your first handgun, I'd recommend a Glock 19 or RXM over it

Get a rugerino RXM or an echelon compact
