The more bolt actions I shoot the more I find myself returning to the smooth controlled feed action of a nice husqvarna rifle. Whether it is a 1640 (the poor man’s pre-64 Winchester 70) or the older 640 or even the ones based on the 96 action, they just don’t make em like they used to. Some of my buddies have savages, brownings, remingtons and tikkas, and although they are nice to shoot they just don’t have that same je ne sais quoi, that same panache, that same charm and they just aren’t controlled feed. Yep there just isn’t anything else quite like them!
