A few years ago Mexico announced it was going to replace it's aging fleet of 450 IFVs, 120 tankettes, and 500 AFV. So far no purchase has been made but vehicles have landed and been tested. All of the money for that purchase has gone to drones, naval vessels, helicopters, light armored vehicles and likely new attack jets. That could change soon. The stipulation claimed was that this would be >~300-360 8x8 IFV armed with a 40mm smart autocannon + ATGM and undefined large cal gun-mortar>~150 tracked IFV with a 40mm smart autocannon + ATGM>~120-150 tanks, tracked and 8x8 with a 105 or 120mm gun + 25~30mm autocannonATGM>~500 6x6 and 4x4 amphibious APC/AFV armed with a 25mm gun and mortarKorean, Turkish, Swedish, German, and Singapore candidates were known trialed. What would you order if you were a Mexican politician who was magically somehow became not retarded?
What do they even need tanks for?
>>65175998Cartels?
>>65175984Boxer everything for IFVs. It has both wheeled and tracked versions, and they share engine/transmission. Considerably simplifies logistical park.
>>65175984>MEXICO HAS SHITTY PORNFixed that for you.
>>65176017Boxer is a Rheinmetall product. Wheeled Rheinmetall vehicles are manufactured by MAN which is part of Volkswagen/Traton, so this is also a good choice given the deep pull Volkswagen has in Mexican industry.
>>65176020dont be mean to the burros bro
>>65175984Remember when Mexico made its own tanks instead of relying on Euro hand-me-downs?
>>65176003There's no way this could withstand a basic autocannon
>>65175998Deterrent to USA
>>65176377Oh horse shit they need them so the cartels can steal them.
>>65176295That was literally a hundred years ago
>>65176381I have literally never seen a single case of narcos successfully stealing and using Mexican military vehicles. It's not like can just walk in and run off with them and not be noticed.
>>65175998Crushing the cartels and hearing the lamentations of the benefactors
