Thoughts on the tanks from Venus Wars?
>>
>>65181136
Looks like someone haphazardly mixed together plastic parts from 5 different model kits of varying sizes and then left the finished product under a heat lamp. I'm sure it would function great in a world where airpower, artillery, HEAT, land mines and inclines steeper than 20 degrees don't exist and all train tracks are 3 times as wide by default.

So... a world like Venus?

I absolutely love those blobby Japanese tanks with way too many guns and turrets. They're fucking awesome, and everyone who thinks otherwise is a dirty communist.

>>65181136
Looks a bit like those Miyazaki tanks.

>Venus Wars
a serious movie drawn like a kids' movie and in which everyone acts kinda like kids until they act like adults
it's a setting that needed Mamoru Oshii instead of whoever they got

They were pretty en-vogue in the 80s, and not just in Japan.
>>
>>65181136
It would look better if you removed all the small turrets

They were also pretty en-vougue in the militaries around the world for a short time in history.

>>65181216
Wait, does Venus have a hidden multiplier to train track width?

> then left the finished product under a heat lamp
It's a 1980s anime so cast metal was in their cultural memory while composite armor's details weren't public. To zoomers living the drone meta and millennials who were born after guided weapons were well established, the cultural details of the unguided weapons/tank era are almost alien.

>>65181201
train tracks? Nigga these are air dropped.

nah
it was probably because 1) anime rounds things off because it's cute, and 2) rounded armour was in fashion at the time
not only was there the T-series to consider, for reference, this was the latest Jap tank at the time

Almost due to similar reasons, if air and artillery can't keep up then big tanks become viable.

Who needs rail transport? They hauled a bunch of these things in massive Ace-Combat-style transport planes, and parachuted them around the city in the initial attack.
