for a combat knife how sharp do yall keep your blade? how often do you resharpen said blade?
>>
>>65181389
>how sharp
As sharp as possible
>how often do you resharpen said blade?
Not often since it stays sharp.

Puukkos are so cool bros. I love them
>>
>>65181389
I literally never use mine so I never sharpen it, I sharpen my camping knife every month or so for example
>>
>>65181424
>>65181488
i carry a glock brand glock knife and got it arm shaving sharp, touch it up one a week with leather. just wonder if that was too little or too much
>>
>>65181502
There is absolutely no reason to sharpen your knife weekly especially if you aren't actively using it

I get the compulsive desire to do so but all you're going to do is wear it down
>>
>>65181506
i use it quite often at work. by the end of the week it isn't quite arm shaving sharp.
boxes, ropes, cordage, plastic strapping whole bunch of random warehousey kind of stuff. i'll touch it up once a month instead maybe. i bought it on a whim to go with my glock brand glock i carry but i do use it quite often.
>>
>>65181523
Don't piss me off
>>
>>65181523
I would get a little utility knife instead of using a combat knife for those things. It's cool you can apparently carry that around. I could legally, but it would be too out of place for my area.
>>
>>65181539
i just like to have fun and you can't stop me
>>65181545
it doubles as a conversation starter. 90% of the old guys that come in know it isn't a kbar but think i'm cool, ive had a few that recognized it as a glock knife. almost everyone else think it's a kbar. super rural, farmers n shit. i used to carry a Puma Hunter's Pal that made me quite the cool guy but the sheath really fell apart and it started to rattle quite a bit.

I got my first birch bark handle a bit ago and it surprised me. Kind of like a more dense cork fishing rod grip.

Well, I didn't really get my question answered last thread because of the spergout over fucking boxcutter faggotry

I work at a grocery store, stocking product and breaking down pallets. All that autism about the boxcutter knives was funny to read since its clear nobody actually uses a knife on either side of the argument.
I'd use a fancy knife at work but the main problem with an opening packages job isnt sharpness, its tape gunk and chipping the tip. Having to wipe down your blade with goo gone every day would be annoying and then constantly fixing your chipped tip would grind down a good knife. For one of these, once you notice you're not cutting well you toss it for a new blade.
The design of the disposable blade holder automatically limits how much of the actual blade you can use. You cant force the blade past the protrusion and still cut right, so you dont have to worry about "damaging product" lmao. (if i ever cut a box and slice a few hot dogs or whatever i just file it as normal damages)
It preserves the tip in the back so you can still flip it once you chip off the tip and keep poking into boxes, and the long bladed part is for sliding it under straps or twine.

I had one of those chinese OTF with a box cutter blade holder and it also worked great until it broke. I estimate i have to deploy and put away the knife like 200ish times a day so even a fancy ass microtech wont last long.

Lmaaaao trust me bro, no one is thinking that. Especially if they're boomers.

Thoughts on Bökers new Extension Knife?

If people can’t figure out how to use their finger to limit penetration, they should be fired.

I have been considering a “rescue hook” type cutter for a specific task at work, where using any knife is tedious.

Modern version of the Benchmade LFK.
>>
Reminder: opening a knife ONLY one way will result in the blade eventually getting wobbly. You need to alternate between the finger and thumb flick.

what type of knives would you guys recommend for self defense ?

German Expedition Knife is back, this time from Puma. Should be a good general field knife.
>>

Loctite doesn't do anything to the wear and tear on the bearings.

Explain something for me as I read through the CA laws since I liver here. Anything over 2 inches is illegal to carry auto-wise. If I were to nut up and go on a stabbing spree wouldn't I be using something like a field/hunting knife? The only reason I would want an OTF auto would be to defend myself, and the automatic deployment would only help me defend my life.

So why is that shit illegal?
>>
>>65183775
1. Laws aren't there to make you (or the general public) safer. This is doubly so for CA laws.
2. Fixed blade knifes such as field knives and hunting knives are illegal to conceal in California, as they deem them "dirks" or "daggers." So, you can conceal a 4 inch Spyderco Military fine, but if you conceal a 1 inch neck knife, you're fucked. Funny, huh?
>>
>>65183775
Laws aren't meant to make sense. They are meant to prosecute white people.
>>
>>65183781
>>65183782
Why does this law even exist? Some people say because of the Punisher show or something.
>>
>>65183781

even funnier is if its open carried you can carry whatever length blade you want, though cops will be called on you as you walk around with your fedora and katana ca but the cops cant do shit.

>love using the work sharp strop but it’s too small
>want a bigger one
>get one from beavercrsft
>leather feels cheap and flimsy
>compound doesn’t stay on and comes off in chunks
I’m I doing something wrong or did I get a cheap chink drop ship of Amazon? I wanted to get the work sharp strop but it seems to be sold out everywhere.
>>
>>65183690
if you don't mind a weak "detent" you can get a soft/light spring off ebay to slap into the knife and disengaging the lock will be much easier on your fingers
>>
>>6518389
sharp enough to whittle a free-hanging hair, done up to approximately 5000 grit
it tends to wear down from microscopic corrosion from playing with it (salt from skin oils I guess), so I just touch it up every couple weeks...or whenever I'm drunk or bored

literally because you are a disposable goyim that doesnt matter and politicians need to create propaganda to sell to NPC masses in order to further their political career and creating teh problem of spooky ninja assassin knives in order to offer teh solution of a ban is a timeless and proven way to manipulate gullible white liberal women and low testosterone whipped beta boomer men
>>
>>65184122
its a fucking strip of scrap leather that has green colored sand rubbed on it. If you paid ANYTHING for it then you did something wrong. The point is to minimize your financial loss by first buying the cheapest one you can find and then later making your own.
>>
>>65184489
318 eurobucks. No idea whether that's justified.
