WTF not just make the ships bigger, now that due to guided munitions its not like being small means "maybe they will miss".Take all the maybe 4-5 sections and add about 10ft of extra space, and maybe 10ft down the center, so you got 8-10 sections with 10ft of open space between them, and some more displacement and slightly bigger engine, and go ahead and don't try to fit the stuff in small spaces to begin with? Its not like the extra sheets of steel will cost anything. Probably reduce overall costs because you aren't spending YUGE money always trying to stuff 20lbs of shit in a 5lb sack. Its not like its an airline where squeezing out a few extra MPG is a big issue, or even an issue. All that extra space would be both comfy, "multi-mission" and able to handle upgrades, and last but not least greatly aid survivability if hit.Like in a little frigate you COULD also carry/house 1000 grunts (pissing and shitting over the sides lol), or you COULD carry massive extra fuel or supplies, or even armored vehicles, or stacks of drones, or a fleet of 2 dozen choppers with rotors folded, etc.So if fully overloaded maybe it can only do 22kts instead of 32.I shouldn't have to say this, but yes the extra spaces would include a few bulk-heads and doors. Who knows, might even be open to sky or at least have that option with big sliding doors. That way stuff could be craned or helo-lifted in and out.

>>65184261Well, actually, anon, the reason is that>Its not like the extra sheets of steel will cost anything. Probably reduce overall costs because you aren't spending YUGE money always trying to stuff 20lbs of shit in a 5lb sack.Oh wait, you're too far gonepearls before swine
>>65184261PS-I hear guided munitions is the big reason APC suddenly got swol, because "its not like being small is going to make them miss".That seems like it should be 100x more for ships, due the ocean and shit. Plus, bigger is always MUCH better in rough seas, where is its ifty-50 if it helps or hurts on land. Sure you might be able to go over bigger bumps, but will in fit between buildings or through train-tunnel, or make it over the bridge?AFAIK, no one is doing Tonnage Treaties.
>>65184269another question: WTF motivates fags to make these responses?
is it SMART for US military so say "loss of confidence" when they do a "change of command"?doesn't that tip off spies to both ID a fucked up unit AND what might be fucked up about it, and a bunch of other shit that even the US military doesn't understand it just showed its cards on?wouldn't the "White thing to do" be to always frame it like the guy leaving is "going on to bigger and better" and "will be using his field experience to train and do higher study analyst work" and his replacement is just "being given an opportunity to prove himself" (but there was nothing wrong with the last guy in that position)? Its pretty much WTF companies do, and not just because they don't want to be sued, but because "business is a battle" and they don't have retards that can't make in the real world in charge.
>>65184261why not make your pics bigger

>>65184306Tours in peacetime are set to fairly predictable lengths. If somebody moves on from a position well before they're supposed to, the rumor mill will offer a dozen possible causes overnight if an official one isn't presented first (and maybe even then...).On top of that, "failing upwards" isn't *supposed* to be a thing in the military. It often is, but it's not supposed to happen. Blatantly allowing it is a good way to make the civvies lose confidence in the services.

>>65184369I'm thinking not so much "upwards" but "specialized".He isn't going to be a DD bridge, he is going to use his years at sea to help GE design new sonar or some shit.Call it "our ongoing program of wide spectrum cross training" when a guy goes from running point on fleet escort/picket to "career counseling" on shore.I'm sure there are quite a few legit reasons for a guy to be pulled from combat command to some specialized role probably on shore.Pretend he is being pulled from Sea Duty to learn highly technical stuff in prep for him being back in command.
>oh lol he madhttps://thediplomat.com/2022/02/indonesia-closes-major-jet-fighter-purchases-from-us-france/if the rupiah keeps being relentlessly cornholed like a Jakarta whore, what will the impact on their foreign defence procurement be?Biden approved a $13.9 billion sale to Indonesia which has yet to be finalizedUS$1 billion one month ago would now be $1.037 billion in rupiahcan Indonesia go through with the deal if their currency continues to drop 3.7% every month?these are some pretty critical defence considerations
>>65184335bigger pics wouldn't change muchthis is more a words and ideas threadlike one of those books without pics BTW, IMO all books like novels should have at least a dozen "pic pages", if not a pic at least every 6 pages. bet it would massively boost sales and could re-issue classics as "collector's edition".
And who’s going to pay for it? The reason why everyone is building smaller is because no one can afford an actual Navy anymore.
>>65184728I'm saying it would be likely cheaper, and better.Like if you are building a cabin on 100 open acres don't make it all cut up and conplex like if you were building a tiny townhouse, just air it out.
