do they use this things in ukraine or has it been replaced by drones and heavvy howizter?
>>65187270Not sure about that particular model but I hear mortar teams have been using drowns to forwards observe their own targets.
>>65187285>DrownsDAMN YOU AUTOCORRECT!
>>65187339>drown warfareKek
>>65187535Someone post the Russian drowning in a puddle
>>65187538Poor bastard had Drowns Syndrome
>>65187270Mortars are still very much in use.>easier to hide than proper artillery>can still stop a concentrated, massed attack if one happens>lower risk-estimate distance than with artillery, so can support your own troops closer to their own locationDrones are all good for killing 7 guys in a field, but if 200 guys and 30 vehicles show up, you want something that can cover an area in shrapnel and fragmentation.
>>65187339phone fags are the worst, use a computer like a normal person
>>65188132But how will I shitpost from the shitter?
>>65188083Not to mention how much you've got to worry about counter-battery fire these days. How long do you suppose it takes to pack a mortar into a pickup? Do you think they'd break the mortar down or throw the entire thing into the truck bed?
>>65187339phone poster gtfo.
>>65188423But anon, YOU are a phone poster
>>65188412Longer than you'd think. They aren't accurate unless they're emplaced properly with bags. Towed mortars are also available but there's videos of them firing and getting hit with counter battery within 20 seconds. It really just depends on what you need it to do and how much risk you can take. They're definitely still a big part of war and drones didn't replace it at all.
>>65187999Checked. Why doesn't anybody check digits anymore?
>>65188439Nope. I'm posting from my gayman computer.
