You're right, I've never had to shoot anyone before.
>>
>>65187895
that was mine. Trigger job is what it is, the SA will be better, actually really good, but the DA is always going to suck and there is nothing you can do about it. It's not that bad since it's from a half cock (if you used the decocker).

I installed the match hammer and sear + their trigger job and it made the reset less positive, probably why they didn't use the match kit as a base for their trigger job. They polish the hammer, trigger bar, hammer strut, and what they can on the sear. I installed a gray gun flat trigger since I like metal flat triggers, it has overtravel reduction built into it like the match trigger.

The gun printed one hole groups at 7 yards, super easy to shoot with the Jarvis match barrel I got.

If you really like your USP and want to shoot it alot, do that. Wright Armory also does optic cuts.

It just wasn't what I wanted so I sold it to my brother.
>>
>>65187906
Tell me about the CSX-E, do you think it stacks up with the other 9mm micro compacts? Is that a 3.1 or 3.6 inch barrel? And can you shoot it comfortably with that flush mag?
>>
>>65187924
NTA but the CSX to me is preferable to all other micros since the exposed hammer means when you go to holster it, you can put your thumb between the hammer and slide which will always prevent it from going off. You have a manual safety as well but this prevents you from having to do rocket surgery every time you holster like with a glock or other micro compact.

The prosecutor would also bring up your history of computer games, it doesn't mean shit other than desperation to break you. The myth about trigger job convictions stems from the Soon Ja Du trial where the prosecution cited that her .38 calibre [revolving] pistol had been augmented with a decreased trigger pull weight but that case was FUBAR from the beginning because her defense thought it would be a good idea to argue that the shooting was an accident

Not quite as light as others but a much crisper trigger. I hesitate to say it's a nice trigger; mine averaged 6lbs. Shooting it side-by-side with a striker gun, it's a pretty clear difference and I definitely prefer the SAO.

Technical advice is one thing, I don't think anyone here is saying if you suck ass at shooting you should be sharing tips and tricks. Like saying "I like the recoil impulse of 45 better than 9" or something is an opinion you can have irrespective of skill.

What if said person (who sucks at shooting) is telling someone to get X product, and not Y product? What if said person (who only has a month's worth of experience shooting handguns) says X is better than Y? Do you expect that person to only ever voice opinions that are purely subjective? I don't.

People come to these threads not merely to talk aimlessly about handguns. They oftentime seek advice on what to buy, how to train, how to replace things, how to upgrade things, what does X product plan to do to solve Y, etc.
I'd rather get this advice from people who have some semblance of knowing what the fuck they're talking about, just as I'd rather get running advice from people who put up good running times, or I'd rather get travel advice from people who've spent years in a place I'm planning on going to.

Demanding subject matter expertise in these threads is obviously unreasonable, but so too is esteeming the opinions of people who really don't know what the fuck they're talking about.
>>
>>65188409
I'm not offended. Actually, I started off saying I really don't care if you're good or bad and then I got a big reaction for not really caring, so I've been explaining my position. I've also been repeatedly saying that if you suck, you probably shouldn't be trying to tell people how to get better.
>>
>>65188416

>>
>>65188415
Yeah, again, if you suck you shouldn't give advice. Nobody has said different. But if you wanna just yak about shit and sperg out, all I care is that you actually have your gun and shoot it.
>>
>>65187894
Pretty good especially for the price, but if you've been buying chink knockoff versions of lights already you already knew that. Idk about holster compatibility but it's a shame it's control scheme for normal light vs strobe is almost incomprehensible otherwise I'd say it would be decent to chuck onto a rifle

Just picked up a new piece today, haven’t bought myself a gun in a few years. Went by an old local gun store I used to hang out at years ago, a great place with lots of interesting old guns. I’ve been looking for a nice old style revolver for ages and he just happened to have a used Ruger Security 6. Bought it on the spot. Just finished giving it a full oil down and scrub since it dry and creaky, but it moves like it’s brand new. Will probably take it to the range in a few weeks to see how it fires.

I kind of agree. I'd rather talk about cool guns and shit with people that actually use them.
I went to a range that I moved close to. I could write more about it (if anyone is in Portland nad hasn't been to The Place To Shoot, I can give my opinion from my brief visit). However, I noticed that my hits were low and to the right. I've noticed that my hits are always a little to the right but I was almost shooting under the target. I think it was from the fact that I was sweating my fat ass off (it was warm and I had to walk a ways to get there) but I think it was also because someone a few lanes down was firing a .357 or some other hand cannon and it was just making me jump.I forgot to take pics but I might start doing that to see how I improve over time. I usually shoot 10-15 yards but this place was so old, I couldn't tell exactly how far out I was.

prosecutors will bring up if your pistol is similar to any military service or LE issued pistol, any modifications whatsoever including a red dot, your social media history, and the clothes you were wearing if it thinks it gives them an edge
during the rittenhouse trial the prosecutor brought up that kyle rittenhouse played call of duty and even said him pleading the fifth during an interrogation or police interview was a sign he was guilty(despite that being a huge legal no no for him to say that in front of a jury/judge and that its constitutionally protected right)
you can carry whatever you want, only thing id say is actually retarded to do is put skulls or some sort of reference to being a warrior/agent of vengeance or religious stuff on there, that just gives the prosecutor ammo

they can also argue to a jury of no gunz surbanites that are afraid of guns that you have an advanced laser aiming device that makes it easier to hit multiple targets rapidly and its designed to help someone switch between multiple targets

Effective, budget optics straight from the factory are the next step, and I wouldn't blame anybody for wanting to hold off until that happens.

Some guns are bundled with budget optics (like the 'ech with a viridian dot) for ~$100 more, but most people would rather pay the extra $100 to get a better optic than the viridian dot.

A decent red dot is a third the cost of the gun, nobody's going to include one for "free." It'll always substantially increase the cost of the pistol. Ironically like anon said there are red dots as cheap as irons, they're just not very good because they're made by slave wage peasants out of melted down soda cans.

Again, you don't get something for nothing. Not now, not in the future.

>>65188481
I've only got four and I've brought them all to the range. Once. From now on, I only bring three at most and only if there's someone with me who wants to shoot one of them. Two handguns, a .22 rifle, and a shotgun are a pain to move around.

pistol optics are affordable now too, for what you're describing anything from osight, vortex, or holosun would be more than enough for what you're doing. installation isn't bad either, get some blue loctite and find out what is compatible with your slide's optic cut if you want to avoid mounting with plates. check tutorials or ask here when it all comes down to it.

I'm looking for a .357 revolver I wouldn't be nervous to the point of detail stripping to clean if it got splashed. I've had good experiences with Taurus/Rossi rifles but never touched their revolvers. Does the $400 pricetag mean not as nice as my S&W or non-functional like a Heritage?

I bought a 2nd recoil spring assembly for picrel, and a Wolff 20# outer spring (factory weight for .45 is 14#). Installed it by hand with only needing a pair of needle nose pliers to get the heavier one all the way on.
Took like 20+ attempts but I didn't need to mess with the little 'c' clip. Just waiting on a Jarvis barrel and I'll be able to shoot the same pissing hot Supers that I can in my LWA 21L
>>
>>65189785

Which threaded barrel and can would you recommend for a stock USP in .45?

>>
>>65189874
You MUST use a USP-T recoil spring assembly or you will encounter frame damage. Another thing is that the USP T only has one approved suppressor warranty wise.

After doing some internet digging I found out it’s actually a fairly rare piece. Ruger only made security sixes with the low fixed sights for 2-3 years. After that it was rebranded as the Speed Six or Service Six for police use. Not wildly valuable but certainly makes it pretty cool.

I've tried every Hogue grip possible on the M11-A1 (wood, aluminum, rubber) as well as the default plastic grips and this gun is somehow too small and too fat at the same time. P226 is perfect even with small hands.

Is this just something everyone has to deal with? The only thing left is the E2 grips but they look like a meme.

Here's the string that ended in a failure to eject due to a faulty primer [fifth round]. I was consistently low and left but don't know if the sudden drop in chamber pressure affected my input or if I was always going to nose dive in that moment. It's very fortunate the bullet cleared the muzzle instead of obstructing the bore. Polygonal rifle barrels yield higher chamber pressure because of their tighter seal so perhaps this afforded me a greater margin

I never actually tried to put the hk floorplates on a promag body. They do both slide on from the front of the mag and then have that detent that goes into the hole to keep it from sliding off. I know they are different but I'm not sure how much of it would be interchangeable. By the time you buy a promag and all of the hk parts to retrofit it then you're probably not saving much money over an hk 12rd mag. Also the promags do in fact suck. I wanted so badly to prove people wrong but they were unreliable. Also this part doesn't bother me but they only had the holes on the back for 5 and I think 12 rounds.

Yeah that sucks, they were just on sale at midway a few months ago but you had to backorder them, but it only took a week or two to ship. I'd try backordering at brownells. No idea what kind of wait to expect but the price is right if you want hk 12 rounders. Looks like that mem12 discount works so that would be my choice.
>>
>>65190894
Thanks, I ordered a few. I have a ton of mags for all my other guns so it feels weird only having one cuckround mag
>>
>>65190950
Cheers. Let me know when they ship, I might order some too. I have a bunch of 10 rounders too and those are my usual range mags. I got them for $20 each though so I wouldn't pay full price. If you're buying new then get the 12s.

Since there's much discussion of USP 45 mags, has anyone used the +5 round baseplate extension from HKparts? I bought one years ago and it was an FTF machine, I didn't know much then but i'm wondering if it would work with a different spring, maybe even just the Wolff +10%. Does anyone else make an overstrength spring for USP mags?

>>65190994
Yes, and yes that is what happened with mine. I asked them about the spring before buying and they said to just use the regular 12 round spring. I'm not totally sure how I'll get it off, it's just been sitting there for years since I bought it. I don't even really want it anyway, I like the way the regular extended floorplate feels.
>>
>>65191022
>I'm not totally sure how I'll get it off
There are two tiny screws in it that lock it behind the flange at the bottom of the mag body, easy to remove but it will fuck up the spring you have in it to do it. I took it off after my first range trip with it and it made that mag into trash until I got a new spring.

I just have mine floating around and I'm curious if there's any way to make it work.
>>
>>65191035
Okay so it's new spring time then. I broke the old baseplate so this one wouldn't have been seeing any use anyway.
>>
>>65190760
Any higher round count reviews or known issues? I’m between this and an LCP Max for pocket carry. The Ruger seems like the obvious pick, but the pr3at feels like a space gun
