Is anyone plinking today? Has anyone got any plans to do so this weekend?I just shot picrel today and was incredibly happy with it. I also purchased a single six so I have both a pistol and a revolver to shoot at the range. All in all, I am very happy.
I stopped plinking after Wuhan 19 and became an indoor cuck TBQH>both a pistol and a revolver to shoot at the rangeOne of them should have been for EDC instead
>>65192866>indoor cuckI do this too sometimes, but a lot of the ranges (indoor and outdoor) suck around here. One indoor range has a $600 annual memebership (emphasis on the meme) that only allows you to shoot Mondays through Thursdays.>EDCI am working on it. I'm a unifag, so I am waiting to finish my undergrad first before I get into EDC. Both guns I have are 22lr, which is still deadly, but not what I would like. I would like a 9mm for carry (not sure if this is too retarded or not).
>>65192917>(not sure if this is too retarded or not).Using 9mm for carry? Most people would argue it's the baseline best option. Personally I'd advicate for using whatever handgun/round allows you to actually land hits the easiest, regardless of whether or not it's necessarily the "best option"
>>65192917>$600 annual memebership>Mondays through ThursdaysGrim!>would like a 9mm for carryGood idea, 9x19 is ideal for magazine capacity and price without compromising ballistic performance
gonna buy a .22 plinker and also use it for competition target shooting at my local clubthinking about a ruger mark iv, taurus tx22, sig p322 or a fn 502what should i pick? already leaning towards the ruger because i heard double stacked mags are unreliable
>>65192961The 502 is made by Umarex (read as avoid this).Mark IV is my pick, I tried one it for an hour along with the 1911 in the OP, a TX22 and a P17. The 1911 has been great, but it is expensive ($700+). You get what you pay for, though. >>65192934>>65192940Would a Hi-Power be a good option? My hands fit a small glove size. So I am worried that a Glock 17 might be a bit too cumbersome. All input is good, I'm open.
>>65192992>Hi-PowerThere's not many carry options for those in terms of holsters, optics, sights and lights. It's true that my G17.3 is a bit blocky but I imagine a fifth generation Glock 19 would fit in your hands well enough
>>65192866So you haven't shot your AR in 6 years pastebin?
>>65192736Yeah I was blasting a 6" gong at 50 yards, man I love gongs
>>65193131Obsession with me can't be good for (You)
>>65193173So yes? You're in /arg/ all the time nigga come on.
>>65192961My TX22 was really finicky for the first 300 rounds or so. Lots of failure to feed. After that it's been very reliable, eats garbage ammo all day long. Really fun and cheap
>>65193173Hey church camp bro. Long time to chat. Literally drove all the way out the range this week only to find game and fish hanging up signs saying closed for fire season. RIP half a tank of gas. Still got a few rounds in at BA’s instead. Hope all is well
>>65193072Good to know. I will try one out, but what other options are there? Just so I can compare. I'm a n00b to carry, but know my plinkers, for the most part.
>>65192736>both a pistol and a revolverDo you also have a gun and a weapon and a tool and an object?
>>65193887I even have a thingamajig.
>>65193232>closed for fire season. RIP half a tank of gasThat's a real bummer especially with Ben Avery keeping the steel range by reservation 24 hours in advance only. Hope you found a better place for ammo and thank you for the well wishes, fren! All the best to you and yours the same>>65193288>what other options are thereFor open carry or concealed? >>65193954He means that your statement is redundant because revolvers are a type of pistol
>>65193963Concealed. Open carry is still very new in my state, so I am waiting for it to become "normal".I know it was redundant when he pointed it out, I was just playing with him. Please excuse me for such.
>>65194024>ConcealedStruth, I hope there's rental options at your local range(s) because the best CC piece is whatever you find the most manageable to shoot which is going to require a live fire demo. It's most definitely a rabbit whole even before the question of lights, sights and holsters>I was just playing with himSouka? No worries then!
>>65193220Huh mine was kind of the opposite, I had like 4 failures in the first 2,000 rounds and it's been getting slightly more picky as time goes on. I have about 5,600 rounds now on one upper and about 3,800 on another upper and there are a few types of ammo it really won't cooperate with, types which it used to ngaf aboutIt's still far and away the most reliable .22 I have, and I think the cheapest I have too. Wait no the Lifecard was cheaper but I'm not gonna torture myself putting 5,000 rounds through that lol
>>65193963Avery’s was still a good time. RO’s were chill and let us have a good time. But it was a shame I couldn’t push the Garand past 100 yards. Hopefully we’ll get some summer showers soon to appease the government.
>>65194440>summer showers soon to appease the govWould that it were so simple, my friend!
>>65192917You a euro or something?
I really need to do some plinking. I bought my house with 20 acres two years ago and haven't shot anything on it. Need to clear out a ton of brush and fallen/dead trees in the wooded area to set up a proper range.
>>65195059At this point I’ve been thankful for a gentle breeze
Absolutely pissing down rain today so I’m taking the charger to an indoor range
>>65195260Fuck yeah. Have fun, looks like that drunk purchase is being enjoyed.
Taking this to the range for the first time today :)Also my Beretta 92
>>65195089No, but my parents are. That is probably what you are picking up.>>65194173The guy at my indoor range of choice has pretty much everything that is popular for EDC in 9mm, as well as stuff up to .44 (he doesn't allow anything larger since the range is small).>>65192940It gets even worse, just checking their website, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays are available with a tier 2 membership of $1000 per year. The $600 gets free pistol rentals, though, but the options are P320, PPK/S, P22Q and sometimes P365, no clue why it is only Sig and Walther (and not even a proper PPK rental). The $1000 unlocks rifle rentals. There is also a tier 3 at $1250 but have not looked into it because the pricing is stupid. My guy is $20 for an hour (he'll give you an extra 15 minutes free) and 3 targets, add an extra person to the lane and it goes up to $23.50.The place is one of those shoot-n-dine locations (might doxx my location down to a specific state, since I think that my state could be the only one where these are somewhat common), the $600 has no food or drink discount, the $1000 does.Anyway, just finished cleaning today.
>>65195235I was convinced that brisk mornings in May were a thing of the past until now, kek>has pretty much everything that is popular for EDC in 9mmGood shit! Of all the polymer grip-framed striker-fired models, there are two that must be avoided certainly1. Sig Sauer P320In spite of having a better feeling trigger and ergonomics than Glock, the pistol has a reputation of firing itself while holstered because it has no trigger detent and the only thing stopping the striker pin in the event of failure is a 0.9mm edge of safety sear but this gets compromised by 1.1mm of slack under the slide2. Sig Sauer P365The trigger return spring tends to break especially if you dry fire. The compact magazines have an MSRP of $49.99 a piece in spite of inferior capacity to the OEM Glock 43X and 48
>>65196041Honestly I’m ready for the heat. I don’t work outdoors so it’s not a major detriment to my job. But in general I don’t mind the heat as long as I’m hydrated and wearing the proper clothes. Plus, it keeps the snow bird boomers out and the highways clear.
Tested out my MP5 today after having a KB two weeks ago and getting a new extractor.
>>65196048Too right but careful when traveling along the 303, word is that Highway Patrol is ramping up stops and speed traps out there>>65195448>Of all the polymer grip-framed striker-fired models, there are two that must be avoided certainly>1. >>65196073That’s fine, I don’t drive down that far. Up north on the 101, I drive about 85-90mph on my way to work at 5am and routinely get passed by squad cars bombing down the road at 100mph.
>>65192736That's a cool looking 1911
>>65196085>85-90mph on my way to work at 5am>routinely get passed by squad carsAhahah, very good. You have that Ruger LC9? I still have that laser sight for you if we ever happen upon each other, my good chum
>>65196051Oh yeah, the KB
>>65196201
>>65196102Thanks, it is not a full size (about 85% the size of a true 1911) and is in .22, and pretty expensive, but I haven't had an issue so far (mind you I am only about 450 rounds fired through it). I cannot stress enough how fun it is to shoot. They also make a model in 380 (which has an option for a longer barrel than RIA's, but costs 2x the price for the most basic version).>>65196073Thanks. I knew about the P320's issues (though someone I know on the interwebs likes his), but not the P365.
>>65196314>someone I know on the interwebs likes hisEnough to carry his daily and with the chamber loaded?>but not the P365Yeah, the P365 is essentially a design revision of the P320 to address its failures but the manufacturing is being outsourced to India so now springs are failing after little as 2500 rounds. Steer clear from Sig, pardner!
>>65196388No... he has a P365 for that. He also has a full size 1911, but he won't carry it.Sig never appealed to me that much to begin with because of the P320 drama (and even before then, my father had a P250 at one point and it sucked balls).
>>65196388You got roasted for spamming this shit in hg now your in here doing it. I bet you have never touched a sig in your life.
>>65196408>father had a P250 at one pointYeah, double-action only is awful if you're carrying an automatic. Look for something that has a short reset or well defined trigger "wall">>65196519>roasted for spamming this shit in hg???
>>65192961Tx22 because FRT, have one in Texas
