Let's be real those guys who treat guns like funko pops will 100% buy one
>>
>>65193761
this is exactly why they bought h&r
so people dont think wow its a psa it should be cheap all psa makes is cheap garbage.
>>
>>65193761
It's super specshul FAL that the US thought about almost considered maybe adopting?!
>>
>>65193761
Other than price, what's wrong with it? I heard that H&R has fumbles when they ran out of parts kits and had to make their own receivers, but that was what, 10 years ago?
>>
>>65193773
>NOOOO, COMPANIES SHOULD NOT MAKE THINGS
>>
>>65193802
The price is what’s wrong with it. It’s literally just a DSA FAL (made by DSA in collaboration with H&R) with a stripper clip cut. DSA fals normally go for half the price they’re charging for it
>>
>>65193812
That's why I specified other than the price.

I mean, DSA makes quality rifles so I doubt there’s anything internally wrong with it. Better than the James River M14s they were peddling before. Still highway robbery

Apples to oranges. A better question would be “why not just buy DSA’s classic FAL and a Kalashnicarver wood handguard?” Since that would be essentially the same rifle for just $2K

DSA is fine. ARS wasn't wrong though, their QC had some issues a few years ago. But those issues got ironed out before the pandemic even started.
t. own two DSA FALs (one is on an Israeli parts kit) and have a friend that owns like 3 DSA FALs
>>
>>65194063
Because G3s fucking suck having owned one. FALs are just better to live with and use.

FAL mags are scarce and expensive, contrary to what they were 20 years ago. Hell I can remember when G3 mags were $1-$3 each.

FALs don't like sand, but for a civilian shooter this is unlikely to be a huge problem. I have had some trouble with Danish surplus too, pic rel
>won't cycle properly
>mmkay, turn up the gas by one notch
>rips the rim off and jams
In my friend's FN it wouldn't cycle at all
>>
>>65195153
It seems like everything but AR mags is going nuts. Someone broke into my garage and stole a backpack full of AK mags that cost me like $300, I've been looking at replacements and for the quantity & quality I'm looking at like 3x that much in current prices.

I'm probably just going to buy a damn AR.
>>
>>65193761
I was going to get one, but they sold out in less than 8 minutes.

The best FALs were the IMBEL parts kit builds with the chrome-lined barrels. I remember when aimsurplus had them for $900, years ago of course.
>>

>what if Glock but not gay and constipated
The RXM is one of the highest potential guns ever made, and by ruger of all people. Adding quality parts and designs to a market raises the floor and by consequence the entire estate of humanity and its quality of living.
The echelon is another example. It’s completely out blown out others at its price point.
>t will never invest in the world of poly pistols, since Glock and sigs never cut it, and now ruger will never add a g34 to its lineup, and Springfield will never make a echelon platform for its 10mm and 45acp line up.
>tfw no echelon platypus-esque in 10mm and 45
>nothing ever ever in 22tcm
Bullet points don’t matter but they hurt me (and probably only me) personally
>>
>>65195378
10mm echelon would be amazing, the 9mm grip is super thin so the 10mm would likely be a normal width (unlike the fatass g20). God forbid we have anything the manlets can't handle kek

I want a DSA but they rarely have the model I want in stock (OSW SBR). Can you just place a backorder with them, or do I have to wait for them to post a batch for sale on their website? I’d like to buy direct from them so they can also do their trigger job on it.

Built on a Coonan receiver, another company gone by the wayside.

Didn't Trump loosen import restrictions and got rid of the Bush era "barrel ban"?

Should be some good Steyr kits getting ready to be imported then if importers are smart and rushing to get at them. Remember when they were $200-400 a kit with barrel? Oooof!
>>
>>65196243
>Didn't Trump loosen import restrictions and got rid of the Bush era "barrel ban"?
No. The ATF did loosen some restrictions, the only thing Trump's personally done is make sure that any potential benefits come with a hefty price tag. Truly 4d chess.
>>
>>65196243
STG-58 kits dried up like 20 years ago dude. DSA imported all the nicest ones back in the 90s and turned them into finished rifles and sold off the rest to builders.

Israeli fudd-lore. The Belgians tested the FAL thoroughly in desert environment and found out it worked just fine, so they did the sand cuts on the bolt-carrier to placate the lazy Pissraelis even tho it was entirely their retarded conscripts' fault for not properly oiling the gun like the manufacturer recomended.
>>
>>65195209
>AKOU approves of the PSA AKs
>redditors and instagram tactifaggots hate them
what exactly is the verdict with PSA AKs?
>>
>>65196790
Commonwealth rifles all have sand cut carriers and the last 2 T48 prototypes made by High Standard also had them.
>>
>>65196790
Look at all the jams Bloke suffered in Finnish Brutality when he brought an L1A1 that one time
I guess it has to do with how fine the sand in question is.
>>
>>65196849
Heard a bunch of similar stories from international volunteers using FALs in Ukraine.
They all say the FALs are highly sensitive to foreign derbies like sand, mud, etc.
>>
>>65196753
It's ran by corrupt, sociopathic Greenville/Columbia/Charleston elites as it has been since the 17th century. They are different from rednecks. And they are worse.
>>
>>65196782
ok so itt posts say it's just a re-branded DSA FAL with different attachments/furniture? Is that all there is to it
>>
>>65196881
It's a bit of a precision instrument. Technically the 0 setting or whatever number it is on metrics (because for some reason the numbering is reversed on inch rifles) is adverse conditions I suppose, but that only helps so far with that clockwork bolt
>>
>>65196954
As far as I can tell, it's the geometry of the tilting bolt that's the main issue.
Rotating bolts can sort-of "sweep" crap off the locking surfaces as they rotate into battery.
That can't happen in these tilting bolt guns, instead crap just gets compressed between the bolt and the locking surface, causing severe jamming and failure to go into battery.

One guy mentioned that he had his rifle unloaded and locked open, rested the rifle on its but with the muzzle against the wall of a trench, and a tiny amount of crap fell off the trench wall, went down the barrel directly into the locking surfaces. He didn't realize this had happened until later that day when he needed to use the rifle in a fight. Those few grains of crap were enough to cause immediate and catastrophic jams to the point where he had to switch to another weapon.
>>
>>65196802

Honestly, current GF3s and on up are fine for what they are. The krinks are good. Last I heard the 100 series are still a strong hit and miss because of shoddy QC, but that's widely true for even PSAs AR products too(I've had two of their barrels fail headspace testing).

The reality is that PSA does have a good return policy and will even replace the firearm if it's defective. Ive personally never had an issue, but the RMA process does take a minute. You'll most likely eventually get an AK that will cycle just fine and not have any hangups, but small tolerance issues that are largely unseen until 1,000+ rounds can creep up on you and do bad things like excessively sheering the bolt or rails falling out of specifications and my favorite where shit like trunnions come loose because of shit rivets and turns your gun into a hand grenade.

Point is that AKs are very dangerous if built improperly, so maybe just save an extra grand to get an Arsenal or maybe just buy a Zastava which are only slightly more expensive and have a much better QC rep.
>>
>>65197203
Unlike their ARs, PSA AK’s simply aren’t worth it for what they are.
WASRs are only like 100 bucks more than GF3s and the WBP Jack regularly goes on sale for the same price as the GF5 if you’re looking for a more premium option
>>
>>65195409
I have never bought a complete rifle from DSA. I have only ever gotten receivers. The one FAL I own that I didn't build I got from Atlantic and had my card info stolen. Same think happened to me when I bought my piece of shit PTR-91 from them back in 2017.

B) It's a .223 can which is generally risky to use on a 5.56 AK of any make

It's really rough on the can though, so I don't do it often.

It's a 5.56 AK made in the USA, 'nuff said. Fun as shit though, and feels great to shoot.
>>65196802
Their 7.62 AKs had a rough start but everything from GF3 on is supposed to be quite solid, from what I hear. Their AK-100 AKs had a fucking disaster of a rollout that was so bad you still have people hesitant to buy any today. My "AK-101" (it's a pre-M '74 in .223, they didn't even try beyond giving it a smooth dust cover so I just made it a straight up AKS-74) has been great and so has the Krink, but the latter has had a solid rollout overall and I haven't heard many gripes about them.
