I want a trap gun for under $1000. Willing to wait for a decent used piece, ideally something I won't feel the need to upgrade for a long time. What should I be looking for?
>>65194073>trap gun for under $1000Just get a Mossberg 500 if it's only trap
>>65194073It's Turkshit, but I did well with a Weatherby Orion before I found a great deal on a used Citori.
>>65194073Just pick any given (non-Turkish) over-under that fits your body from the second hand rack of your local gun store.
>>65194073>trap gun for under $1000A300/Ultima FieldUnless you just have to have a Stevens 555
>>65195546Citori sounds nice
>>65194073Franchi Instinct. New they're only about $1600, so used ones pop up regularly. There are also lots of older Franchis woth fixed chokes that go for super cheap because everyone thinks they need to swap chokes all the time. Older Remington Premier Trap 11-87s are around $900.
The only real trap gun.
>>65196418Citori is great, so is the Beretta 686 'Silver Pigeon', though the chance of finding a used example of either in decent shape for $1k is nearly zero. They are very durable and hold their value well, you might find one for $1500 if you look hard but $1k is a stretch.
>>65194073For trap? Literally whatever decent 12 gauge you can find at a pawn shop for under $400. Spend the rest on shells and practice so you can learn skeet.
>>65194073I've had a dream yesterday that this crackpot got killed. I had to check wikipedia for past tense usage to make sure. It was all weird, before that I practically erased him from my memory.
>>65194073My Maverick 88 works fine for me, But I've been thinking about getting a Henry break action single shot; that would probably be perfect for trap.
